Two birds on a wire

Two males sat on top of the mountain, watching the sun set behind the trees.

One tries to fly away

The shorter male stands up, heading back inside, muttering that he's 'tired'.

And the other watches him close from that wire

The taller male watched him leave, leaving him alone.

He says he wants to as well.

He hears his soulmate talking and laughing with someone, not him, never him.

But he is a liar.

The shorter always asks "What are you talking about? I wasn't talking or laughing with someone else." whenever his soulmate asks.

But his soulmate knew that he was lying.

I'll believe it all.

Grian thought that his soulmate was hearing voices, he never was talking to someone else.

There's nothing I won't understand.

But Scar knows that Grian's cheating on him.

I'll believe (I'll believe) it all.

Scar kept his emotions down, not wanting to ruin his relationship with Grian.

I won't let go of your hand.

He would never leave Grian, even if Grian was cheating on him.

The same routine began, over and over again.

One says "C'mon" and the other says "I'm tired"

This night, Scar had asked Grian if he wanted to go on a night walk with him.

Of course, Grian rejected his offer, saying that he's 'tired' again.

The sky is overcast and I'm sorry (oh-oh-oh)

Scar muttered an apology under his breath, watching the sky become cloudy.

One more or one less

One soulmate outside, all alone.

The other leaving him, inside, cheating.

Nobody's worried

Everybody thought that Scar and Grian were happy together.

Oh how wrong they were.

Scar knows everything, and Grian didn't know that.

There's nothing I won't understand

No, he didn't understand one thing.

Why is Grian doing this?

Why is he cheating on him?

Is he not good enough?

Grian had suspected that Scar knew something, but he ignored it.

I won't let go of your hand

Scar would never leave Grian. Not in a million years.

Grian might, though.

Two birds of a feather

They were kind of like each other, but neither acknowledged it.

Say that they're always gonna stay together

They did in 3rd Life.

But in Double Life?

No. Not at all.

But one's never going to let go of that wire (oh-oh-oh)

While Grian's loyalty to Scar left long ago, Scar's loyalty never left.

He says that he will

Grian pretends that his loyalty is still with Scar.

But he's just a liar

But he's lying.

To him, to Scar, and to everyone else.

Two birds on a wire

They're away from each other now. Both in opposite sides of the world, both red.

One tries to fly away and the other

Grian dies, and his plan to get a Warden to the surface has failed.

He's dead, and he took Scar with him.
