Jisoo finds herself stuck in a very dreaded family function - she hated this.
Her mom throws her a quick glare to remind her to be nice, she must be presentable. She mentally rolls her eyes as she joins the laughter one of her dear cousins said
She quickly grabs her phone and sends a quick message to her girlfriend

Her girlfriends replies with a gif of a duck saying bye
Jisoo swears if another person asks her if she has a boyfriend she would stab herself with a plastic fork.
Much later in the night, Jennie - her most tolerable cousin drags her in the corner of the room after she sees Jisoo's eye twitching, a mannerism that tells her cousin is about to explode.
"Ignore them" Jennie tells her and Jisoo's gives her a tired smile - she was trying to but the sarcastic replies are coming out of her like middleschool kids when they hear the school bell ring
"I heard you have a new beau" Jennie changes the subject and Jisoo's heart picks up
She wasn't sure whether it was fear of her family hearing about their topic or her extreme adoration for Chaeyoung.
"I do" Jisoo smiles remembering Chaeyoung
Before they could divulged on the topic further they were both called to participate on whatever joyous game their other family members are playing.
Much later - once there was alcohol in their systems, Jennie picks up the topic again. "Does your mom know?"
Jisoo hesitates for a moment not really sure what to say, "She knows her"
"But does she know"
"She should - it's painfully obvious"
Jisoo hated it here - she wants to go home. Everytime she spends time with her family all she can think of is how she should behave - that she would forever be hiding her true self to them.
"Do you ever wonder what would happen if they knew" Jennie says gesturing to the rest of her family - most of them knew.

"Are you sure about this?" Chaeyoung asks for the nth time
Chaeyoung had been invited to spend the holidays with her family - Jisoo have been second guessing her every step. She wanted her family to meet Chaeyoung so maybe they would understand why she was so in love with her.
But second she set foot on her father's house she knew it was a mistake - all her father's siblings were there like it was last Christmas and despite the cheery faces she didn't feel at ease at all
"Chaeyoung? is it?" one of her Uncle's asked
"Yes, sir" Chaeyoung answers politely
"Tell me do you have a boyfriend? cause my son--"
Jisoo had her hands balled in a fist to stop herself from saying something - she wasn't out. There was nothing she could do
Chaeyoung twitched uncomfortably in her seat - unlike Jisoo she was very out and open about her sexuality and she wasn't used to denying it.
"I'm focused on my studies" She answers with a small smile
The whole night her family had been throwing subtle comments about Chaeyoung and their relationship and how it was "perculiar"
Jisoo felt hopeless and torn.
But when Chaeyoung holds her hand from under the table - all her thoughts falter and all she can think of is how much she wants to kiss her.
so she does.
She kisses her girlfriend - Chaeyoung's eyes are wide and unbelieving, the noise from her family was not quiet.
But Jisoo felt at ease. She can see the reflection of her love in Chaeyoung's eyes.
Her heart is all she owns.
