ignorance

"I can't fucking believe this!" I say, stepping into our house and slamming the door behind me, Jude behind me "Jude? Why didn't you tell me about this before? I could've helped you out"

"Oh, maybe I didn't tell you for this exact reason. First of all, I could've handled it by my fucking self, ok? And second of all, it's none of your goddamn business what I do and what happens to me"

" I'm your brother! Obviously, it's my responsibility when your mom and my dad aren't here!" I say, worry on my face

"Well, will you look at that, how convenient! It's the first time you've actually labeled yourself as my brother. Do you know what that makes you? It makes you a fucking ignorant." she spits out, furious

"How does that make me ignorant when all I've been doing these days is helping you?"

"How does it make you ignorant? I'll tell you how. All this time you've been acting like I have never existed, loathing me for being a person that has moved into your house and being the new daughter of your miserable dad. But once something like this comes up, you jump to action. Why? Because if you 'save' me from these bullies, you'll get all the credit. Your dad will finally give your poor ass some attention." she screams out, all in one breath. She throws her shoes that she took off onto the floor and gradually stomps away

"Jude! Do you really think that I'm using this situation for my own benefit?" I ask, running up behind her

"I mean, it would be fairly surprising if it wasn't" she replies back with a murmur

"I'm not, I promise. I was genuinely there to help"

"I don't care!" she says turning around harshly to face me "I told you specifically that I don't want your help. So stop acting like a fucking hero for once and go party with your friends or something. Let me handle my problems on my own, and you should handle your own. If I say that I don't need help, I mean it" she spits out

"Your problem is also my problem! I'm just trying to help!" I say

"And I just said that I don't need your help. You know, for someone with such good grades, you're surprisingly stupid" says Jude, then turns around. I am about to run after her when my phone suddenly starts vibrating in my hand.

It's Cho

"Yeah? What's up?"

"Hey! Is your sister ok?"

"I mean... not really"

"Awh, I hope she's not too scared"

"Oh, she's not. She's mad at me, that's all"

"Hm? Why would she be mad at you"

"Long story. Anyways, what happened back there? Sorry for leaving by the way"

"It's no problem. We practically left almost after you"

"That's good. What happened with Yujin though? I heard that the people knew him"

"Yeah... about that. Yujin used to be bullied by them as well, from what I understood"

"But how come they don't bully him anymore? They said that they haven't seen him in a long time"

"Hanbin... you might not take this too well"

"It's fine, just tell me"

"So, first of all, he switched classes, that's why they haven't seen him in a long time. And the reason as to why they don't bully him anymore is because they made him a promise"

"What kind of promise?"

"Maybe you should ask Jude"

"What? Why?"

"It's not my place to tell you about this. Yujin told all of us about it, but you should probably hear it from Jude, and then ask Yujin."

"Cho? I don't get it? Tell me what promise"

"I  can't tell you. It's not my place to tell you. I need to go now, see you tomorrow at school, Hanbin"

And just like that, Cho hangs up on me.

Sorry that it's a rll short chapter today 😭

I might double update today anyways unless something comes up

Also, please check out the first chapter of my new haobin ff; 'the Start of the End', which was published today. I really hope you guys will enjoy it!

Here's the blurb: In which Zhang Hao always goes to summer camp since he was a little boy, but this time, he is going to take care of the kids. He's never skipped a year of coming, except for last year, in which he caught a severe cold. Now that he has returned to his last year of camp before going to university, he encounters a boy that he has never seen before; Sung Hanbin.

Along with his brother, Yujin, who hasn't visited summer camp in a long time, they experience many things separately. These things both break them and create them, leaving them longing for something that they can't possibly have. Summer camp; a place where people feel like they're in a dream, but once they leave, they're struck by reality... that they can't live in a dream forever.
