“All that’s left is to throw on the pureed chestnuts on top of the tart.” Trey said. “Finally we’re gonna be able to eat the marron tart! I’m getting so excited~!” Grim exclaimed. “Alriiiight, let’s get this done!” Ace exclaimed as well. “Don’t lose your focus yet, just a couple more steps.” Trey said. “Yeah!” Ace and Grim all said excitedly. Yuu just looked relieved that the whole thing was hopefully almost over.

“Nyaha! How’s that!” Grim exclaimed. “Good work. Keep going just like that.” Trey encouraged Grim. “Heheh, it’s a piece of cake if you leave it in my hands!” Grim said cockily. You resisted the urge at this moment to comment ‘but it’s a tart, not a cake’. You refrained from doing so. “And just like that you’re up on your high horse again.” Ace grumbled in Grim’s direction. “The eggs… won’t become chicks…?” Deuce said in a voice of utter defeat. “And what’s wrong with you, anyway, Deuce!?” Ace asked. Yuu gave you a look to say ‘i’ll tell you later’. You gave a nod in response. 

A while later, and Deuce still looking completely baffled, Ace said with a smile “Alright, we’re done!” “Funyaaa~~~~ It looks so good!!!” Grim said while reaching for tart from Yuu’s arms. “You guys have done great so far. For the last step, place the marron glace on the very top of the tart.” Trey said, giving out the very last instruction. “Okay okay! I’ll do it!” Grim volunteered. “You can’t eat the marron glace before it reaches the tart Grim!” Yuu reminded the stubborn cat. “Don’t screw it up at the very end, okay?” Ace gave amazing words of encouragement. “Leave it to me! …Hiyah! I’m the greatest! It’s an amazing marron tart~!” Grim exclaimed.

Somehow not screwing it up, Grim managed to put the marron glace on the tart. You wouldn’t have put it past him though to eat all of the glaze before it reaches the tart. “Lastly, we dust the top with powdered sugar…” Trey said while dusting the top with said powdered sugar. “And finished!” Ace and Grim all shouted in relief. “Finished…” Deuce said with much less enthusiasm. 

“Did something happen while you were out shopping?” Ace asked, finally looking concerned for his roomate. “Let’s just give him time alone for now. I can tell you later.” Yuu said. “For 16 years I believed that, and for what…?” Deuce questioned himself. 

“I gotta say though, baking sweets takes up so much time. I’m exhausted…” Ace groaned. “Good work~! Is the tart finished? The decorations are super cute! It’s mega Magicammable! Let me take a pic.” Cater said coming in from who knows where. You actually knew though. You saw him sneak in as Ace was talking to Deuce. “You! Why did you only come now?” Ace complained. “I wanted to come see my cute little underclassmen working hard! Ahaha, you look beat.” Cater said with a smile. Ace looked like he was gonna punch the guy.

Go ahead and see for yourself just how delicious Mont Blanc tastes when freshly baked.” Trey let everyone eat a piece of the tart. Glad to finally be able to eat the delicious looking tart, everyone, everyone except you that is, shouted “Yaay!” “Cater, you really did make sure to arrive right on time just to eat the tart!” Ace grumbled at Cater. “Don’t worry about it! Just think of me as the taste-tester.” Cater dismissed Ace’s grumbling and complaining.

“Ahhhh… It smells so deliciously sweet. The chestnuts on top are glossy while the cream underneath is so fluffy! Let’s eat!” Grim said. You would’ve never taken him for a food connoisseur, but it’s not like that doesn’t make sense with how much the little guy can eat.

You grabbed plates and silverware while Trey cut the tart and then he served everyone with the plates you gave him. Then everyone grabbed a plate and fork and dug in.
