🗡️🗡️🗡️

It took a week for her to wake up. An entire week of people having one-sided conversations with her, not knowing she could hear every word they were saying—and boy did she find out some juicy gossip. Who would've thought that Midoriya had a crush on Uraraka?

It was literal hell. Being completely aware but not being able to talk or move. Bakugou still hadn't come to visit. Unless he did and he didn't speak or touch her but knowing him, he was probably brooding and blaming himself, especially now that the number 1 hero was out of commission and retired after the fight with All for One—she'd have to remember to thank Mina and Uraraka for telling her all about that in her coma.

She'd heard her dad and great-grandparents talking too, apparently, this was normal when a girl first unlocked her legacy powers, it took so much effort and energy to maintain that they usually ended up sleeping for weeks. She was surprised her grandparents even made the journey to Japan, they were almost a hundred at this point and vehemently resented Japan since they were alive during the Japanese occupation of Korea.

Her grandmother was the only one there when she first opened her eyes, dressed in traditional hanbok and knitting what looked to be a blanket. Aeri groaned at the fluorescent light of the hospital room and her grandmother smiled at her from the armchair.

"I've only seen one other girl recover from Dalnim's effects as fast as you did and it was your mother." Her grandmother spoke, dropping her knitting project and fetching a glass of water with shaky hands. "Drink. Your throat will be dry after going so long without any water." Her grandmother held up the glass and assisted Aeri in drinking. She gulped it down greedily, her throat no longer feeling scratchy and raw.

"Thank you, grandmother." Aeri huffed, flopping her head back down on the pillow.

"I suppose I should call those doctors in now, shouldn't I? How do I say 'She's awake' in Japanese?" Her grandmother stood up and walked slowly to the door, the skirts of her Hanbok brushing the linoleum floor.

"She's awake," Aeri told her. She watched as her grandmother repeated it a few times to herself before exiting the room. She came back a minute later with two nurses, a doctor and her dad.

The doctors performed their usual checkups for any brain damage, or amnesia, checking her reflexes and response to painful stimuli as well as her pupil size, and they said she was perfectly fine—nothing her grandmother hadn't already known but her dad insisted on them just in case.

"When can I be discharged?" Aeri asked the doctor as she was about to leave the room.

"We still want to keep you here for another night, just in case but after that, you're free to go." The doctor explained, giving her patient a professional smile before leaving and shutting the door behind her.

Aeri scowled and threw her legs over the side of the bed sliding down slowly until her socked feet touched the floor.

"What are you doing? get back into bed." Her dad scolded her, rushing over to the side of the bed and gripping her shoulders so she wouldn't fall. "You haven't used your legs in a week, it's going to take some time for you to be able to walk properly again."

"Leave her be Shota, if the girl wants to walk around a bit, let her. How else will she get her strength back in time for the Moon Ceremony?" Her grandmother clicked her tongue, going back to her knitting.

Aeri gasped, her eyes snapping over to her great-grandmother. "I'm having my Moon Ceremony? But I only just entered the golden stage!"

Her grandmother's golden eyes shone brightly. "You unlocked Dalnim, you're one of the youngest ever to do it. Of course, you're having your Moon Ceremony."
