3th POV || May 24th, 1987
Will was laying on the couch with some random romance movie playing that El wanted to watch
She was sitting on the other end watching every second
Will was just trying to stay awake
He didn't mind romance movies but he was much happier watching Jaws or The Shining or Star Wars or even Star Trek
"Don't you love romance?"
"Why fall in love? Love just hurts.." Will said resting his head against his hand not looking over at her
El shrugged and went back to watching the movie
"I just think it's unrealistic that there's no pain like, at all. Its just a man and woman making out for ninety minutes."
"Jaws is just a shark eating people for two hours." El said crossing her arms
Will shrugged and nodded
"Yeah I'll give ya that.."
Mike was sitting in the basement
It was late (or early whatever you wanted to call it)
Is it really morning if you don't sleep?
Mike was too busy pacing the basement with a full head of thoughts to actually look at the clock
He knew it was past ten because Karen had already yelled down saying it was bed time.. even though he was sixteen now..
Mike sat down on the floor in front of the phone pulling his knees up to his chest and laying his head down on top of his arms
He sat up after a few minutes and reached behind him grabbing the phone and putting the numbers in without even having to look
"Hello?"
"Hey Will.." Mike whispered
"Are you alright? It's late." Will whispered trying not to wake up anyone in the house
"Yeah yeah um.. just.. I don't know why I called, sorry.." Mike said putting his face in his hand
"It's okay, Mike.. what happened?"
"Will you just stay on the phone with me until I fall asleep..?"
"Yeah of course.." Will whispered and started talking about his day
Mike smiled laying back and closing his eyes
— June 1st, 1987
Mike was in California for a month in summer
Currently walking out to see Will waiting for him
Will looked up and smiled waving as he stood up from his seat
Mike smiled running over and hugging him tightly making Will laugh hug back
"I see you've improved your California outfits." Will said as they pulled away
Mike laughed softly
"Yeah.. I didn't ask Max what people in California wear this time.." Mike said Will laughed softly
"Come on let's get your bags" Will said as the started to walk away
Later that day
El joined them at an arcade
Will was laughing as he and Mike were fighting each other on a game and El acted at the cheerleader for Will
Mike smiled looking over at Will getting distracted by his laughs causing him to lose the game
"Yes! I win I win!" Will said doing a victory dance
Mike smiled
"Alright, big shot, come on I wanna get a milkshake." Mike said Will smiled and nodded
El wrapped her arm around Will's
"I'll order, you two go sit." Mike said going up to the counter
El and Will went to find a table
Mike came over a few minutes later sitting next to Will
"I got El a blueberry one, I got strawberry and Will I got you a cherry smoothie since you don't like cold stuff.." Mike said passing them out
Will smiled softly
