"... and we have very pleasant news that came in just now!!!! Once again! Marquell Empire shows its power and becomes the only empire to peak number 1 on the Global Sales Chart. And folks not only that! Due to that—"

A sigh followed right away after the television was shut off. The man on the couch could not deny the exhaustion but somehow relieved at the same time that all his hard work paid off.

A few minutes later, his wife came in his room and invited him to lunch. It's only just the two of them since both of their children are away.

The man's son is currently learning horse riding. While his daughter is currently in Paris and finishing her schedules with their partner brands.

The couple celebrated on their own with lunch and later on, they came to visit their son at their private stable.

"Ross. Come over here." The mother, Laura. She called as she waved her glove covered hand elegantly and slowly as if it's going to break. She gently pushed her big glasses down to her nose bridge to get a better look of her son, striding towards them.

When Ross got near them, he effortlessly hopped off the horse and stepped closer to his parents so he can greet them. Laura immediately pulled him to a hug before brushing his hair to a mess.

"Have you eaten anything? You look distraught." Laura said with her heavy russian accent and sounded a bit flirty actually.

Ross just kept his head low and forced a smile to her before shaking his head gently. Then he briefly looked at his father who had been staring at him with a poker face. Then he quickly looked back to the grass beneath his foot.

"I've seen your grades. And I'm glad that you didn't went down any lower." He said blankly and Ross rosed his head to look up to him with a small and proud smile.

"But I am deeply disappointed." His father suddenly said that made his son's smile immediately disappear. "You did not move any higher than I hoped." He scoffs and Ross felt like his gulping pins.

Laura immediately hushed him and tried to segue their topic. She could sense that Ross doesn't feel well by his statement. So she figured she'll come to the rescue of her stepson.

"Now now! Darling! It's already a great news that Ross was able to maintain his grades with all the competition! He is very smart. I'm sure he will rise to the top next semester." She reasoned out and clung onto the boy's arm while smiling sickeningly sweet to her husband.

"Exactly. We put him in that school so he can learn to survive the competitions. But it shows how incompetent he is that he can't even do a simple task. How am I supposed to hand over the company to my son if he's nothing but an incompetent boy? This is why Luna can do a lot more things better even though she is younger! You should be ashamed."

"I'm sorry I've disappointed you father…. I promise I'll do–"

"Save it! You will prove me with your grades this coming school year." His father cut him off sternly and then flicked his finger.

His secretary rushed to him and handed his expensive ipad. Ross' father scrolled something on it before showing him an image of a foreign university.

"By next year. You will be studying in that university. And you must prove me you are worthy of my heir otherwise you'll be nothing but a big failure to this family." His father said to him and Ross can only nod his head to show that he agrees.

"Settle what you need. We are leaving to Korea next week." He said before leaving with his secretary.

Once he was gone, Laura looked worriedly at Ross but saw only his tired eyes.
