Mateo POV

We went to the nearest bar and everyone started drinking, Rufus ordered a drink called Barbie Pink Cocktail. It was pink and looked so pretty and I took a sip and while I still wasn’t a fan of alcohol the drink tasted really sweet and I liked it.

The bar was pretty full which usually makes me overwhelmed but having Rufus’s arm around my waist made all my uneasiness roll away.

It’s hard to believe I’m here. A week ago I would never go into a bar and drink the most colorful cocktails but being with Rufus and the gang brought out another version of myself I never knew but wanted to be that guy more often.

Tagoe was flirting with a group of girls at the bar, Malcolm was talking to the other two girls from Amiee’s band at a table, and Peck’s gang were all together at a table with Joel sitting on Kendrick’s lap as they drank beer bottles.

“You good?” Rufus asked lending closer to my ear amd my face felt hot again

“Yeah, I have to used the bathroom real quick” I told him and kissed his cheek as I walked to the bathroom, as I walked there I saw Amiee standing near the water fountain looking down at her phone

“Hi” I said to her getting her attention, she looked away from her phone and looked at me

“Oh your Rufus’s new boyfriend?” Amiee asked me

“Oh yeah” I quickly answered without thinking

“Are you okay?” I asked her

“Yeah just not really feeling like partying with everyone”  Amiee sighed putting her phone away

“Because you kissed Rufus last time?” I asked wishing so much I could take it back

“That didn’t help but also because Peck and him are in the same room and I don’t want Peck to do something stupid” She sighed

“Well you can hang out with me” I suggested

“You're okay with us hanging out?” Amiee asked surprised

“Yeah, you seem nice” I asked her and reached my arm out and she took it and walked back to Rufus

Rufus POV

“Hey babe and Amiee hey” I said shocked to see the two holding hands

“You wanna drink? The pink one a really good” He suggested

“Yeah” She nodded and ordered the same drink

I looked at him and he gave me a look and said it was okay. We sat down together and I realized this was the first time me and Amiee actually talked since that weird kiss from the last party we were at together. I missed her so much and realized how much I wanted my friend back.

While we were laughing and talking I saw Peck watching us, He wasn’t galring per say but just staring like a rude kid at a Walmart. I just ignored him and focused my attention back to Mateo and Amiee who were talking about a cartoon I think.

An hour passed and Francis texted us and told us word for word

“Get your ass back on the bus”

I said goodbye to Amiee and hugged her as we caught a lyft back to the bus, We got inside and Mateo followed me to my room

“Had fun?” I asked him as I took my shirt off

“Yeah it was nice meeting Amiee” I told him

“Yeah thanks for encouraging me to talk to her again, it was weird but it was good to talk to her again” Mateo said and took off his shirt and crawled into bed and I laid down next to him

“That's good, She’s nice and I want you two to be friends” Mateo told me

“Most people wouldn’t want their boyfriends to be friends with their exes” I joked

“Were boyfriends?” He asked me

“You want to be boyfriends?” Rufus asked and held my hands under the blanket

“Yeah I want to be boyfriends” Mateo said and gave me a smile that was so sweet it was giving me cavities

“Okay then were boyfriends” I told him and lend in to kiss him

He kissed me back and I rolled on top of him as we deepened the kiss, I haven’t felt this feeling in so long and I knew Mateo had to go home soon and I knew it was gonna break my heart.

But for right now he was all mine and I wasn’t letting him go
