Mateo POV

I ran into the bathroom and called Lidia

“Please pick up, Please pick up” I begged into the phone

“Mateo” Lidia said sounding angry

“Lidia listen I need-” I tried to tell her but she interrupted me

“I took Penny from Christian because I’m just so pissed about what he did” Lidia growled into the phone

“Lidia I-” I tried speaking again but was interrupted again

“Penny called me because she said she was hungry and that daddy was gone; So I go to his house and shes home alone so I took her back here and gave her McDonalds and now Christian had the audacity to say i’m overreacting” Lidia ranted and I could hear that she was out of breath

“That's awful but I really need you to listen to me” I told her slightly raising my voice

“What?” She asked skeptical

“Do you still have your grandfather's old camera? I asked her nervously

“Yeah? Why?” Lidia asked suspiciously

“I lied saying I was a photographer and now I’m on the tour bus with The Plutos” I quickly told her

“You're with The Plutos?” She gasped excited

“Yes and when I get home you're my assistant okay” I told her

“Assistant? We are equal partners” Lidia corrected me with a smug tone

“Deal” I joked and the bus stopped abruptly and I almost fell

I walked out and saw Francis walk out and look at me

“There you are, You have 30 minutes to get your stuff and get back here” He told me and went back to his phone

“Got it” I said and ran inside the apartment

When I knocked and Penny opened the door

“Uncle Mateo” She said happily and held my leg

“Here the camera” Lidia told me and handed me a huge professional camera that was a little worn out be still good

Lidia's grandfather was a photographer before passing away 2 years ago, Lidia kept the camera in the back of her closet as a memory of him.

“Thank you” I told her and sat the camera down and grabbed some clothes, my laptop, and some other hygiene products

“So what is the end goal?” Lidia asked watching me pack

“I’ll be on the bus, I’ll take a few pictures and when I’m not doing that I’ll secretly interview the band for my report” I explained and finished packing

“But your not a photographer” Lidia reminded me

“It can’t be that hard; Just need a good camera and get good angles and I’ll be getting paid which I promise to use to help Penny get into a good school’ I told her and held her hand

“Mateo you don’t have to do that, You should use your money for school” Lidia told me and pulled her hands away

“Don’t worry about school that's what scholarships are for and when I get into this advance class I’ll have job opportunities so that's will go to school” I told her and kissed her on the cheek as I walked back to the bus

“Here” I said loudly much like a child would during attendance

“Great, Your room is in the back, It’s small and no I can’t fix it” Francis told me and walked away from me with his wife following him

“Hi guys” I said to the band who were all sitting on the couch staring at me
