Rufus POV

“Couldn't sleep?” I asked trying to think of anything but how cute his messy bed head and being very aware of how close we are to each other

“My laptop fell and woke me up” he said and grabbed a bottle of water and start chugging it like he was shotgunning a beer can

“Hate when that happens, I can’t sleep” I told him

“Really? 4 hours singing and dancing didn’t tire you out?” Mateo asked me

“I’m wired weird” I just shrugged

“Want to just hang out?” I asked him and nug my head to my bedroom

I have no idea what I was thinking and I hoped he didn’t think I wasn’t thinking with my dick, I actually did want to talk, It seemed like he needed someone to listen to him.

“Yeah” Mateo agreed and we walked to my bedroom, We walk in and I closed the door behind us

“Wow bigger than my room, not by much but still” Mateo said and sat down on my bed and I sat down next to him

“So want to talk more about your friend moving out?” I asked

“Ugh it’s dumb like I’m not mad” Mateo told me

“You don’t seem mad” I agreed

“I get why she did that and I’m a grown man I can live alone and she should put her daughter first it’s just…we talk about everything but not about this and that hurts” Mate explains with his hands in his curly hair that had no business being as sexy as it was

“I get that” I nodded

“I hate the idea of being alone” He added

“Being alone sucks, I felt like that when I first left home” I told him

“You did?” Mateo asked scooting closer to me

“Yeah being 14 and on the road was…a lot of emotions, homesickness is a bitch and a motherfucker” I said eating a toothy grin from Mateo

“Were the others like that?” Mateo asked

“Yeah Malcolm missed his mom’s cooking and his sisters especially since he missed their birthday that year, Tagoe however was fine” I told him

“He was?” Mateo asked

“Yeah Francis and Jenni pretty much raised him and they were always there so he didn’t have much issues” I told him and I saw how focused he was listening to me

“Oh” Mateo simply said

“Tell me more about your family” Mate asked me and laid down on my bed

“Tell me yours first” I told him coming off a little flirty as I laid down next to him

“Nothing much to say, Just me and my dad, Mom passed away giving birth to me” He told me sadly

“Fuck, I’m so sorry” I said and reach my hand and held his, I was expecting him to move away but he didn’t insead he softly grasped it

“Thank you, My dad’s great though he really kind and patient with me, he’s like my best friend…god that sounds so pathetic” Mateo giggled lightly but the laugh seemed more ironic then funny

“Thats awesome, My parents are great too, Mom’s a doctor and Pop’s my dad use to own a pawn shop but closed it and become a stay at home dad” I told him

“I also have an older sister named Oliva, she's getting her masters right now in criminal science” I told him which made him smile

“Leaving them is always hard but their so supportive” I said and I saw Mateo let out the cutest yawn in the world which made my heart skip a beat

“I always wanted a brother or sister” he said and I could tell his eyes are getting heavily

“Yeah she's great, she was the first person I came out too” I added as I scooted closer to him and gently rubbed the back of his heads feeling the locks of his curly hair between my fingers and I heard him snoring softly

I wanted to kiss him so badly but not while he was sleeping, I mean I wanted to kiss him while he was sleeping because he looked so cute but needed consent first and I wanted to get in his sleep.

I placed my forehead on his and closed my eyes and finally felt my body relax long enough to fall asleep
