Ava Halstead just came back from 2 years as a Marine and is going to firehouse 51 on squad 3 but isn't on the best terms with her brothers because of them not wanting her to be a Marine but she didn't care, she's a lot more like her twin brother Jay...
2 weeks later your sitting at the squad table with Tony and cap as cruz walks in on his first day back
He starts talking to mouch and Stella who both had an idea to ignore him when he came back
" look who's back " you say with nodding to him and both capp and tony look back and get up
They both say hello to him smiling and you go up after " hey, well come back " you say half huging him then severide comes " hey, look who decided to come back" He says with a smile as he greats him
" come on let's get to work You 4 " severide says and you all fallow him to squad where you guys restock everything and look through it
Tony, cruz and capp where all checking there dive gear as cruz was complaining about his mother in law
" Oh and chloes mother in law insisted on helping" He pauses " you can only imagine, alot of stress " cruz finish " could of been a lot worse, we almost lost 3 of the best firefighters in chicago " capp said and cruz looks at them " what do you mean 3 " He says confused " how do you think you get out , the mermaids carried you up" capp says joking " well I know severide pulled me up, wait did I get him trouble " cruz asks worried and capp and Tony just look at each other " what happened " cruz asks
" Severide pushed himself way past his limit, he was ether going to come up with you or not at all " capp tells him " and Ava pulled you out too, she was in hospital after fainting out on the bout with water in her lungs and just tired nic" tony finish as you and severide both come through the door and sit at the squad table away from them
Later that day Boden announces his promotion and you were all really happy for him but now it's the end of shift and you walk out of the locker room with gallo and ritter seeing severide and cruz talking before you leave
" me and the guys were talking earlier and they told me what you went through to get me out" cruz tells severide " well if I didn't come up with you, I'd have to deal with chloe " severide jokes with a smile " I just don't know how to thank you " cruz says seriously " buy me a beer later and we'll call it even, oh and it wasn't just me who pulled you up. Ava had a big part of it to, so if you want to do something just buy har a drink too or something " severide says get up and leaves
You end up not going to Molly and just straight to sleep and didn't even see gallo but you walk up early the next morning and decide to go for a run

You run for maybe 30 minutes and stop at a small coffee shop
You walk in and hear someone call your name "Halstead" you turn around quickly to see Atwater and Adam, two people Jay work with
" hey" you smile and walk up to them " you having breakfast" Adam asks " I think I'm just going to have a coffee, not really a morning person" you say and they nod " well sit down, we need all the stories about jay" Atwater speaks up " you guys sure, like I said I'm only getting coffee" you say and Aden calls over the waiter
" one......" he looks at you " black coffee, please" you say and she nods "put it with our breakfast" Atwater says to her and she nods before walking off
You sit down with them and your coffee comes soon after
"So any stories" Atwater asks and you smile " not really honestly, he did punch one of my ex boyfriend's" you slightly laugh at the day " I can only imagine" Atwater laughs
You finish telling them the story and the 3 of you were walking out as Aden stops you
" Ava do you maybe wanna go out some time maybe to dinner" Adam says nervously and you didn't just want to say no so you say " I'm sorry, I'm sure you're a great guy but I'm actually seeing someone" you say and immediately regret it knowing that they'll probably go tell jay " oh ok, that's fine well it was nice seeing you" he says and you smile as they both walk away and you can hear Atwater saying he was crazy for asking you out but after they drive away you start running home again
You get back to your house and go in the shower before leaving for work
As you walk and leave your stuff in the locker room before going to find gallo
You find him in the kitchen as you usually do and pull him out the back door before anyone can notice you
" hey" he says confused " I made a big mistake" you say looking up at him
You explain to him what happened " so basically I told my brothers best friend that I'm seeing someone" you say hugging him " it's ok, he was going to find out eventually anyway" he says Comforting you " I know but every things just perfect right now and I don't want it to change" you smile before he was going to say something but the speakers go off
You guys get there and squid goes in to do a search looking for a young boy
As you guys were looking around chief says on the radio that two people fell down the roof so you and severide run up quick
You guys then find out it's Kidd and gallo and your heart breaks
You guys get there and cant find then in till they start banging on the walls and you guys break it down to get them out
You smile when the both of them are out and stay close to gallo as you all walk out
You all walk out happy and both you and gallo had all black marks on our faces from the fire but you guys didn't care as you walk out and Ritter throws you guys water then pack up and leave
After the day you, gallo and Ritter where getting ready to leave in the locker room and gallo was talking about his first time falling through the roof and all the things he was thinking about
" did I cross your mind" you asks quietly And he smiles and hugs you " of course you did but it was just crazy" he says going back to it and you just didn't want to think about that he could of died so you stop him " please stop, I don't want to think about it" you say with a small smile and he nods
You go home with gallo behind you in his car and you both just watch movies in till you get a text saying the cruz and Chloe's baby shower is going to be at molly so gallo goes home and you start getting ready

You drive to mollys and every thing was decorated and Cruz and Chloe were so happy
You all have and great time and you just go home after
