Kate Taylor was a small ripple in a big ocean. She was surrounded by waves and even tsunamis in the red house. She just blended in, walked behind her friends in the corridors, the odd one out in partner work, letting her friends be the ones who were noticed and talked about.
Everyone seemed to fit into their stereotype of red, blue, yellow and green. But Kate? She didn't feel like a Gryffindor, often joking that she'd fit better in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Not brave or courageous, confident, daring. But opting to be quiet, reserved, patient, conforming.
She loved her friends, Lily, Marlene, Dorcas and Alice. They were the best thing at Hogwarts, bringing light to her life and making her happy at every opportunity. Kate was happy to step away to let them work in partners in classes, often sitting next to a person who was begrudgingly moved next to her or forced to sit there as seats were taken up.
Kate had relationships with others throughout her 6 previous years at Hogwarts, friends that didn't stick around, even being Amos Diggory's secret girlfriend over the summer, but that came to an end September 1st 1976.
