Part 22

Xavier's pov:

I was staying with Kate in NYC as dad stayed at my grandparents home with his brother and their family and mom was at her parents home. So the best place to stay here was Kate's.

For the past couple of days she has been too busy doing something and most of the time she is texting someone. I guess she found someone and plan to find who soon.

It was Thursday evening and I was late from work. It was around 10 when I came back. Kate was waiting for me in her living room.

She told me as soon as I entered "Xavier you have to move out of my house. I am so fed up of you and I need my privacy back."

I was confused as to what is going on. What did I do, so I asked her "What did I do Kate? I never ever disturbed you and I am rarely home. Are you dating someone?"

She told me "No it is nothing like that but since the day you are here I can't have my friends over for night stay or can go out at night. At times you are even dictating things to me and I like my place clean but look at the  way you live."

I told her "If it is like this when you have night over with your friends here I will stay in a hotel and will try to keep the place clean."

She shook her head and in a pissed voice told me "That will only make me feel guilty. I have found an apartment near to your office for you, please move their. For tonight take only a days things, you can move rest all tomorrow or whenever you want."

I gave her are you serious look and asked her "Why are you behaving like this? I mean I asked you before moving here if it was okay."

She told me "I never thought living with you will be so difficult and anyways you just have to move from this house to another and I have even arranged everything for you. Please go and here just try this shirt and pants I brought as a moving out gift for you. Please wear and show me how it looks."

I told her "I will try later. And okay I am leaving in a hope that everything is fine between us."

She told me "Everything will be fine when you move out and we will keep meeting for dinner and sometimes for night overs but please I want you to stay there. It is even closer to your office. Please for me atleast try the shirt pant so I can see how it looks on you."

God she is so stubborn and those puppy dog eyes can't even ignore it. So I did as told and went to my old room and changed. I came down and showed her the red shirt and black pants I am wearing now.

She looked at me and said "Perfect! Now here take this bag and your laptop bag and leave. If you want anything else come tomorrow bye."

God she is acting so weird, I asked her "Are you having a boy tonight? Are you getting some tonight?"

She hit me and said "Even if I am getting some I will not share it with you. Whatever it is, will tell you tomorrow but for today please I need my privacy."

She then pushed me towards my car and waved at me before closing the door. She is sometimes so weird. She did not even give me the address and house key.

My phone buzzed and I saw Kate's message it had the apartment's address and house lock's code. I typed the address in the GPS of my car and started driving.

When I reached the apartment it was already 11:45 pm I was so fucking tired. Thank God I ate something in the office cafeteria or I would have starved. As I went up on the door hung the sign "Welcome home Xavier!" What is wrong with Kate seriously.

I entered the code and went in. The house was lit with fairy lights only. I saw a note on the living room table and read it "Let's spend time watching movie and eating dinner here. The food is in kitchen by the way."

I went towards the kitchen and saw the food kept on the kitchen counter. I checked what was there and it contained my favourite dishes. It was too much for just one person.

There was another note "First check the bedroom before eating the delicious and mouth watering dishes. I hope you will love the place."

Kate I am so going to kill you. What are you trying to do? I went in the bedroom and it was also decorated with the fairy lights. Is it my birthday, no then why all this? There on the bed I saw another note.

"Isn't it beautiful? But don't sleep now, I know you love to sleep a lot. But the most beautiful corner is not this. To know what it is see the note on dining table."

I went towards the dining table and picked a note kept on one of the chair "We will rarely be using this table to eat like I said living room will be our dining room too. Anyways for the most beautiful place of the house walk straight and open the door in front."

I did as the note said, I was so tired and here Kate is making me play treasure hunt, when I see her next time I am so going to kill her.

As I opened the balcony door, it was decorated with fairy lights, flowers, led light saying happy anniversary and in front of it on a table was a small red heart shaped cake.

From behind the door came a person I least expected to be here. Am I dreaming was all I could think until she hugged me tightly and her smell made me realise she is here.

I hugged her back and asked her "What is all this? When did you come? Why did you not tell me?"

She pecked my lips and again hugged me back and said "Happy 6th Anniversary Xav! Surprise! I took the job just told Blake and others to keep it a secret."

I hugged her tight. This is the best gift I ever got. My sister can be so melodramatic sometimes. I wished her back "Happy anniversary baby! I am so happy. This is the best surprise I have ever received. But how did you contact Kate and whose place is this?"

I told him "I was coming for our anniversary here but did not knew how to get you to meet me. Blake gave me Kate's no. and from my birthday till few hours ago she has helped me with all this. I had rented this apartment as soon as I decided about moving here. I know it is small but I liked it a lot and mostly I am going to stay in office so thought this will be the best."

He told me "This surely is the best Brooke. I liked it a lot and anyways you alone won't be staying here, I have been thrown out of the house and need a place to stay."

I told him "But Kate was just joking with you." He asked me "You don't want me to stay here with my wife?"

I told him "If you want who am I to say no. I would love that and even all my notes said about the things we will be doing while we stay here."

He kissed me and we had a make out session in that balcony for few minutes after which we cut the cake, clicked pictures and had mid night snacks.

I told him "Yet again I planned our second date but this time the food is of your liking."

He told me "I told you my wife is in charge in our relationship. She will be my happily ever after."
