I wrote the original version two years ago. It was my first ever written piece so it isn't perfect. While the new one isn't perfect either, I believe the writing to be mostly better.
Here is the summary for the new version:
I had known I was different when I received two gifts on my birthday instead of one. Normally, I should've woken up with one power. Fire. Or, being able to speak to the dead. Not both. Then, on my nineteenth, I wasn't supposed to get any other gift. But I did: mind reading. So, I knew that I should've been expecting a surprise power on my twentieth. What I didn't expect, however, was for the man that I had been drawing since my eighteenth birthday to be real. Or for him to be my soulmate.
You see, that turned out to be the gift I was given on my twentieth. The Soulmate Gift. When you can talk to your partner mind to mind, when you can feel whatever they're feeling, when you can see what they're seeing. But of course, a gift that beautiful comes with a price. The Price: It only appears after you or them have fallen in love with someone else or if one of you is about to die. The second price: If you don't make the relationship official before two years are up, you go mad.
Oh, and the third price specifically for me? My Soulmate is quite literally the Devil himself.
My fourth, most fantastic, scrumptious price? Demons want his entire line dead. That includes his future children. Which is why my future self sends me our future child to protect. So, not only did I get a soulmate for my birthday, I got a kid, too.

If you like fast-paced stories then the original version will probably be more enjoyable for you.
If you prefer angsty stories with slower plot development that isn't rushed, than you'll probably prefer the new one.
