I stare across me,and for some reason,I actually feel like breaking something.
Ruby is unconscious and I feel this urge to cry.
I always told her not to drive angry but she never listens
Now,look what happened.
She has bruises on her body,but it's nothing too severe because she wore her helmet and other pads.
At least, she's okay
Her white skin has red bruises,but thankfully, it's not deep.
We're in the ward and in about two to three days, she'll be discharged. The faster her wounds heal,the earlier she gets out of here.
Turns out her motorcycle collided with a truck.
Ughhh,I feel angry.
Not at her,but at myself for allowing all this happen.
I know it's not my fault but I wish there was something, anything I could do...
"Yo,punk" she whispers from the bed and I smile so hard that I walk over the bed to give here a hug. I make sure the hug isn't too tight because of her bruises but I'm just glad she's okay.
"Ruby.. you're fine right? Tell me you're fine"
"I'm fine" she assures me with a smile but it's written in her eyes that she feels pain everywhere.
"There you are!!" A voice booms as the person walks through the door.
He looks familiar...
Oh, he's that guy...
Kingsley?
Oh,Ken.. yes, he's Ken..
The guy we met at the pizza place
"Hi,Ken" Ruby smiles at him
"What happened to you?" He asks looking at Ruby's body.
"Collided with a truck" she chuckles.
"But you're fine right?"
"Yes,I'm good"
"This ain't your first accident,is it?" He asks,and the way he looks at Ruby, something's telling me he already knows the answer to that question.
"Nope!" She laughs and so does he.
"That's what I'm trying to make Hart over here understand" she says and Ken playfully smacks my shoulder.
Well,ouch..
"You're worried about her? Nah!! She's gonna be fine" Ken chuckles
"I already am," she says. "These robotic people in white are treating me like I've just been born. I mean,I like the treatment but dude,cut it off!" She says with an eye roll, making Ken and I laugh.
"Ruby over here was so reckless when she was younger. In fact,she still is," Ken says and everywhere goes silent as if they're both remembering something.
"Remember those nights" Ruby quietly says
"I remember those nights,Ruby" Ken says with a nod and a smile.
"But they're over now,right?"
"Pfft,of course they are.. you're older now. No one can just beat you up anyhow they wanna" he shrugs.
"I'll be back," she says and just as I'm about to ask,she shuns me by saying : "I gotta pee,Jason!" She rolls her eyes.
When she's out of ear shot,I feel like I should ask Ken about some things,but I can tell it's personal..
