Hours later, once everyone had gone home, Damon found me. I was leaning against a doorframe, blankly staring into the empty reception room. He slid an arm around my waist and pulled me close against him. I blinked, snapping back into realty. I had been thinking about the incident with the hybrid.

"Hi." I smiled.

"That was the last guest." He motioned to the door. "Are you ready to go?"

"Where are we going?"

"Our new house." Damon's eyes sparkled. I smiled widely and nodded. I had been wondering where we would live after we got married, but Damon had just told me he had it under control when I asked.

We headed towards the door, stopping to say goodnight to Giuseppe, Stefan, and Katherine, who all bid us goodnight. Katherine winked at me suggestively, but I pretended I hadn't seen her. Outside, a carriage was waiting for us, two jet black horses in the front. The man driving the carriage gave us a small wave and a smile as we approached.

Damon helped me in and tucked the ends of my dress out of the way for me before climbing up next to me. I rested my head on his shoulder as the horses started walking. Damon's arms wrapped around me, and he held me close.

"I love you." He whispered to me.

"I love you too Damon." I looked up and moved to kiss him.

When the carriage stopped, we were still kissing. Laughing quietly, we broke apart as the door opened. Damon helped me down and I gasped as I saw our new house.

It was just on the edge of town, quiet but still included. It was a small grey cottage, and it was perfect. Damon wound his fingers through mine as we walked up to the front door. Pushing it open, he picked me up bridal style. I laughed and looked up into his eyes.

I wrapped my arms around his neck so I wouldn't slip and pressed a kiss to the edge of his mouth. Damon walked into the house with me in his arms, nudging the door shut behind us.

"Do you want to see the house?" He asked, setting me on my feet in the hallway. I shook my head.

"Tomorrow." I kissed him before he could answer, passionate and deep.

Damon walked down the hallway, still kissing me. He lifted me almost completely off the floor as he moved. He blindly opened a door and we stumbled inside. I pushed his jacket off his shoulders and dropped it on the floor.

Damon reached up and took my veil off and then ran a hand down my back, smoothly unzipping my dress. I unbuttoned his shirt and loosened his tie, gently taking them off his perfect body.

"Elena." Damon kissed me again, sliding my dress off. I stepped out of it, now only standing in my underwear.

Stripping each other of our remaining clothes, we made for the bed, our lips connecting against and again. Damon lifted me gently onto the soft sheets, his touch gentle. I looked up into his blue eyes, and then we kissed again.

I woke up before Damon the next morning. He was snoring lightly, eyes closed, his hands around my waist. His heartbeat was slowly thudding, and I rested my head gently on his chest and closed my eyes to listen. I was content to lie here forever.

Birds outside the window were singing softly, rays of sunlight streaming in through the parted curtains. This was a perfect moment, one found inside of a storybook or a romantic movie.

After a while, Damon began to stir. I lifted my head and pressed a soft kiss to his lips as his eyes fluttered. He blinked sleepily, and then his mouth moved against mine, kissing me back.

"Good morning." I murmured.

"Hey." Damon's morning voice gave me shivers, and he grinned as I bit my lip. "Something wrong?"

"I love you." I told him.

"I love you too, my beautiful wife." Damon kissed my neck, making me giggle. He moved his arm up around my neck and then suddenly he was so close.

I could feel the blood pumping under his skin, the steady thump of his human heart. I felt the veins under my eyes fill in as bloodlust almost took over my senses. Quickly, I shut off my breathing and had myself back under control.

"Are you okay?" Damon frowned. "You looked..."

"I'm just hungry." I lied, kissing his lips and lingering there.

"I can..." Damon began before I pressed a gentle finger to his mouth.

"I'm fine. I don't want to move."

"Me neither." Damon's hands cupped my neck, rubbing small circles into my skin. "In fact, I could stay here all day."

He trailed his lips along my jawline and then slowly kissed my lips. I slid one of my legs between his, feeling his skin against mine. Damon bit his lip but couldn't contain the sound that escaped his mouth as I ran a hand over his strong body.

"Elena." He breathed.

His hands landed back on my waist as I sat up, almost straddling him. He looked up at me, my hair falling over one shoulder, covering my naked chest. Damon brushed my hair back over my shoulder as I cupped his face with both hands and bent down to kiss him deeply.
