I sat in endless darkness, watching through my eyes as if they were merely a screen and not my own. Helpless to do anything. I watched as I fought Isaac out of the city, his screams echoing throughout the fog, torturing me. When that ball hit his back, searing it, I felt as if a piece of my soul died. It seems like no matter what I do, I end up hurting people. Maybe I was better off being locked away.

At least Isaac was free and out of the city. Maybe he could stop his mother and close that portal.

I stood vacantly staring in Lilith's office. She was furious that Isaac got away and had plans to go after him, but first, I had to perform the last part of the spell. I watched, trapped within my mind, as she painted the floor, ceiling, and walls with various symbols. This was a big spell; I had never seen so many intricate glyphs in one space.

Lilith finished painting the last glyph and moved on to light some candles around the room. Apparently, they help with concentration.

"Come, dear, let's get this over with." She said sweetly. Her face alight with a wide smile. I didn't move, which caused her smile to falter.

Her influence over me wasn't perfect. We both found that out when I was able to break free during the fight with Isaac in his office. It brought me some satisfaction that I could protest, at least for a little while.

She scowled at me, "I said come here!" Her words were laced with magic. My mind gave in, and my body stumbled into the circle.

"Now read the incantation and focus on the portal's strength." She commanded through clenched teeth.

"Duas stellas inter se colliduntur." My flat voice spilled out of my mouth, and I watched with bated breath.

This is it...Vancouver is doomed. I felt tears roll down my cheeks as I fought to stop myself, but it was no use. I was too tired.

Suddenly a guard crashed through the door. "Mistress, the castle is under attack!" He stuttered.

Lilith's face became red with anger as she stopped me with her hand. "By whom? Who could possibly be attacking the castle that not even you can handle?"

He flinched. "We don't know...we can't see what it is. They're...invisible." He scrambled out the door away from Lilith's fury.

"Goddess! Everyone is so useless! Go back up to your room and wait while I deal with this intruder." She stormed out of the office.

My body moved to follow her order. I wondered who it was. Did Isaac come back for me? It hadn't been that long since I watched him ride away.

From my window, I could see the portal, still high in the sky. Thankfully objects were no longer flying through it. I hoped my father and friends were safe.

There was a loud crash downstairs. Was that Lilith? Another crash sounded from within Lilith's office. There was screeching and yelling, and then suddenly, a person flew through the hatch.
