I woke up with a massive headache, vaguely noticing that I wasn't in the middle of the road anymore.

The last thing I remember was- I groaned and rubbed my head. Isaac! Panic welled up in me. Alright, calm down. Survival class number one rule; "Observe your surroundings!"

The room was ancient and extremely unfamiliar. The walls were all wood paneling that had cracked with time, and there was a wood-burning fireplace made of stone. The room was also very cluttered; there were knickknacks scattered about and an abundance of different plants.

Getting out of the wooden bed was more trouble than I thought. My limbs ached, and the pounding in my head didn't help. I slowly stumbled my way over to a window and pulled the heavy red drapes open. I squinted as the sunlight hit my face; there was a wooden fence that lined what I assume was the back of the house and beyond that was a lush, dense forest.

Where in the world am I? I turned around and began searching for a way out of the room. After the third door- the other two led to a bathroom and a closet- I found the exit. I poked my head into the long corridor. There were so many rooms and no one in sight. Taking a deep breath, I walked out and tried to avoid any creaky floorboard, but that was almost impossible. In the middle of the corridor was a grand staircase, and I heard voices coming from one of the rooms.

It took every ounce of courage I had to go down those stairs and confront the people who took me. I mean, they haven't hurt me yet, and if they had wanted to keep me prisoner here, they would have chained or locked me in.. right?

The room I walked into seemed to be a sitting room. I had no idea I was too busy staring at the woman sitting on the couch next to the cloaked figure I kept seeing. The woman talked in a soft tone that sounded vaguely familiar; she had dark red hair and had smooth wrinkles around her eyes and mouth. She gasped when she caught me standing there.

"You're awake! Thank the goddess!" She said and started to walk towards me, but I instinctively took a step back. She immediately stopped and put her hands up and smiled softly. "It's okay, dear. You're safe here. I only want to look at your injuries. You were in terrible shape when Isabelle brought you in."

I glanced over to the cloaked figure. She sat there nervously with her head down and hands clasped. I turned my attention back to the woman.

"Who are you people? Where are we? I want to go home!" I tried to say confidently, but there were still tremors in my voice.

"My name is Luna Redwood; this is my home. As to where well... I can safely say we're not in Vancouver anymore." She took another step towards me. I started to panic and stepped back again, increasing the distance between us. "It's okay, Elizabeth. No need to be frightened." Luna said softly; her voice was like honey. I wanted to believe her, but I couldn't shake the feeling something was off.
