Chapter 18: Chase The Giant!

Y/n's POV
"But haven't I been saying that all along?!" The man said looking at Oji-san, "I am a detective.."

"Hpm, why were you running away then?!" Oji-san asked

"When I saw the girl's expression change, and she started chasing after me, I got a little scared and.."

'Ran did jump off the window.' I said in my head

"Scared? Easy for you too say, with a face like that." Oji-sasn said getting annoyed at the man's sunglasses

"It's true..I've always been some-what of a coward. I wear these sunglasses so no one will make fun of me..."

I raised a brow, confused at where he was going.

"Stop trying to avoid the subject!" Oji-san yelled reaching over to the man's glasses

"Wai-"

The detective was about to say something but Oji-san had snatched the glasses the detective had.

'H-his e-eyes...' I said in my head

Soon, Conan and Oji-san just laughed out in the open. The detectives eyes big, cute, and sparkling eyes. I bit down my tongue, hoping not to laugh or snicker.

"Come on, you have to take seriously! Misami-San's life depends on this!!" Ran scolded

"Oh, uh sorry..." Oji-san muttered. He then coughed and continued, "So you were also hired to find Hirota Kenzou-San."

"Yes. But when I located hos apartment, you were already there. Based on your conversation, I understood that you and I had been hired for the same job but..something seems funny.."

"Pft.."

"-about." Small chuckles escaped Oji-San's mouth catching our attention

"The only thing funny about this is your face!!" Oji-san laughed out

I looked up to Ran and saw her cracking her knuckles.

'He's doomed.' Was the only thing that came to my mind

Soon, Oji-san had a big bump on his head. I contained myself from laughing and continued listening to the conversation.

"This is the person who hired me to find Hirota-San. What he told was that his elder brother left KyuShu for Tokyo. And he asked me to find him, his only relative.." The detective said

"Only relative..?" I mumbled

"Hirota-San wasn't supposed to have any other relations other than his daughter, Misami-san."

"That's wierd!" Ran said jumping into the conversation, "Misami-san said she was searching for her father, who came from Yamagata!"

"That is definitely strange. There can't be two Hirota-San's..." Oji-san said looking at the photo from earlier

"And there's something else, one of the people at the taxi company Hirota-San work for told me that every night Hirota-San would drive along the same route with no passengers..at a reckless speed."

"It could be a typical stress relief. It happens a lot as you get middle-age." Oji-san said with a denying tone

'Daily? In the same route?' I looked over at Conan and he looked to be in deep thought

"What kind of person was your employer?" Oji-san asked

"Let me see...Hirota Akira, age 28. He was quite the giant, at a height of over 190cm."

I then heard the door open and I saw Conan leaving the house. I figured he was going to use his glasses but since it ran out of battery, he'll go to Professor Agasa's house.
