A plague has swept over the Earth, killing the majority of the population and every female. Except one. Ara witnessed the horror and destruction, but for the last three years has somehow survived.

Now desperation and hunger force Ara out of the mountains and onto a dangerous path; she must return to her home city. Across the flooded downtown and through the gangs of survivors Ara believes there is hope, one small leftover clue, that could save her. But when she is taken captive by a group of men, she must decide where her loyalty truly lies; with humanity or with herself?

After reading a few chapters this paragraph doesn't make much sense. Who said my aliens and why because what happened isn't that strange or abnormal that the only way you can explain it was aliens and no signs if aliens. Misleading.

Would the women and children not gotten the plague if they had stayed? Not sure how sending the women and children away made them get sick vice versa? Maybe explain more?

This is a good opening paragraph! The conflict is already there. I'm instantly hooked.
OMFG my brother came up with an idea like this for a movie and then I found this crazy some people do have similar mentality
