When righteous daydreamer Jared Stern becomes chance witness to one of Keen's murderous meals, he takes it upon himself to rid his city of the vampire. But there's more to this charismatic monster than meets the eye, and Keen, not so easily defeated, takes an interest of his own in his would-be slayer.

Jared's soon in up to his neck balancing his home, work, and love lives against the quest that threatens to consume them all. Stakes are raised in ensuing bloody battles, tricks and traps, and a bout of about turns of turns of mind, as Jared fights for his life against the cordial killer determined to take it...and a good deal more.
