Writingexercise Stories

A collection of Cookie Run prompts for me to work on at my own leisure, mostly as an exercise for me to Keep It Brief and work on compartmentalizing scenes, concepts and ideas. I'm calling them drabbles, but I'm hoping to not get much longer than about 300-400. I am not taking prompts, but I am open to suggestions.

I took a creative writing course, so I thought of putting my assignments here. I will accept constructive criticism and answer any question that you may have, so feel free to leave a comment. I will write the instructions in case someone wants to give it a try too. Disclaimer: None of this exercises were design by me, only the stories are mine. I took the Creative Writing Program on Coursera, this class is made by Brando Skyhorse.

I write every day, even if it's utter crap. 2000 words minimum on any book or story in progress, plus at least one exercise. Always room for improvement! These exercises also help you fend off that dreaded writer's block, that horrible time your muse decides to run off to the Bahamas without notice or inviting you along! These exercises tend to be written as rated E for everyone. Since these are also done in a "flash", editing doesn't always happen, so these will normally be fresh out of my head much like my Damaged Goods flash story. Please feel free to do the practices with me, and feel free to post a link in the comments so I can read them too! I will be adding to this daily unless, for some reason, I am unable to do my writing exercise for the day or can't get to the computer that day. In this book Josiah, Josh, and I will each write a chapter, but the twist is that we can only write a chapter off the last sentence of the other's chapter. A writing exercise exploring my ideas for how dragon rider and rider interact, as well as a setting idea I had. The plot doesn't make much sense, but presenting the ideas was the important part. **I have other projects I'm working on, but if this gets enough attention I'll write more for it.

These come from a writing exercise I do every week or two, wherein I close my eyes and let my imagination travel where it will, then write on what I find there until the words and my mind seem satisfied. They are sketches of stories. Of people. Of places. Someday, they might be more than that. For now, they're only sketches--and no less dear to me for it.

There's a website called WritingExercises.co.uk. It's really interesting. It has a few different writing exercises that you can do. One of the exercises that there are are Random First Liners. Which is what I'm going to do. So I use the random first liners from the website and that is what is going to start all of these random short stories. Lots of genres, lots of short stories, but all of them are going to be great. Sorry for my random talking at the end, but that's what I'm good at... rambling. Feel free to read and enjoy.

A collection of the little snippets of potential stories I get when I start with a word or phrase and then write without stopping until I can't write anymore. This is all I have of these potential-stories, as they are the result of a writing exercise. I share them here when I think others may enjoy them and possibly give feedback and/or ideas to help me improve. English grammar/punctuation/spelling corrections are welcome, providing the corrections are in UK English, and are expressed respectfully.

I found this writing app called "Foretelling". First of all, I like it because the app allows for a fairly broad and throughout characterisation of your own stories. Second of all, I like that there are weekly new writing prompts. Maybe by seeing the prompts and what I did with them, it will inspire you to write a little something too.
