I woke up in nothing. No light. No floor. No sound. Just me, suspended in an endless void where every second stretched into eternity. Time didn't exist. Place didn't exist. I didn't exist... or at least, that's what I thought.
Then I saw him. A man. Stout. Censored face. Eyes fixed on a glowing screen. NYM. He ignored me at first, then spoke - his words playful, cruel, unnervingly precise. He spoke of things I didn't remember, things I never wanted to recall: my parents, my failures, my sister Fuyuka, my life as a laughingstock, a child lost in fantasies.
He tore at me, piece by piece, exposing what I had forgotten, what I had buried, what I feared to know. And through it, a spark began inside me - a strange, cold awareness that maybe I wasn't as powerless as I thought.
Then he gave me the watch. The Anomaly Watch. No instructions. Just the device and a challenge I didn't understand. When I pressed the formula on his monitor, lines and spheres of light wrapped around me, bending reality, pulling me apart, twisting me into something else.
And I realized... I wasn't in the void anymore. I was somewhere between worlds, somewhere between who I had been and who I was about to become. NYM's gaze lingered on me as everything dissolved into blinding white, and I felt the terrible weight of knowing that nothing - not even I - would ever be the same.
This is the moment I began to exist again, but not as the boy I had been. I was becoming something else. Something darker. Something... deliberate.
