For anyone who is a fan of mythology and/or fairy tales like me then this story is for you. Structured as a fable it's a short and sweet tale that isn't so complex. A boy, a village, a hill, and a magical hermit. Follow the protagonist as he grows up in a world ravaged by war. In order to survive he'll need to put his trust in an ancient sage and the magic he bestows him. But when that's all said and done what is left of the poor boy who lived in the village by the sea? Where does the magic end and true power begin? Thank you, this was the first ever story I posted on this app in high school. As my favorite story I decided to rewrite it and republish it here on Wattpad to officially start my writing career. Enjoy the read and let me know what you think.

Premise It is the turn of the twelfth century. England and France are in turmoil. King Richard, "The Lionheart," is fighting back home from his crusades. However, his aspirations of returning home are dashed when he and his men discover that the fabled King Arthur Pendragon and his Knights of the Round Table have returned. With the ancient king's ascension, magic springs forth from the depths of the world, spreading slowly outward from England. Known as the Rupture, hosts of people across the land are impacted by this sudden upsurge of magic, the corrupting force twisting man and nature alike in strange ways. Numerous 'tainted' beings are created, spreading chaos wherever they go. King Richard is forced to align himself with Philip of France to wage war against King Arthur. As the new alliance musters its forces for an invasion across the English Channel, they are obliged to rely more and more on irregular units to deal with the spreading threat of the tainted. One such team, led by the notorious Sir Orin Wolfbane, is tasked with investigating rumors of a tainted witch in the hinterlands of Paris.

Along their terrifying expedition they are carried into a dream world, commune with a thought, are trapped by Samuel a half-man half-fish, bring to life Joheedga, a game playing card; and are pursued by an Eternal Idea intent on destroying them. This swift fascinating tale, with philosophical surrealism, is for every child who craves a space where both inner and outer realities come together to create a place of trust on how to adapt to our unpredictable world.
