Byakuran was seen standing before Kyoya with a smile on his face. Meanwhile, Kyoya was glaring at Byakuran as he was demanding answers from him.
"What the hell are you doing here, Byakuran?!
"Isn't it obvious? I'm here to get the magic stone. Plus I finally found what I was after. The Sanctuary is before us. But before I enter, I need to see which of us Child of Sin is worthy of seeing her again. Worthy of seeing the Witch of Greed, Echidna!!!!"
Kyoya was just getting annoyed with Byakuran at this point. He already knew he had to be wary of him, but he didn't think he'd had to fight him. As Kyoya was getting ready to use a spell in hopes of restraining Byakuran, he suddenly start to feel a bit weaker.
Byakuran smiled as he saw the cause of this. Both him and Kyoya heard large footsteps approaching them. As they looked towards the village, they saw Ghost approaching them. Seeing this, Byakuran knew that his role was about to start.
"Thank you, Ghost. You've collected so much mana. As such, i'll make great use of it!!!!"
Soon Ghost was disappearing as its body was fading away. Kyoya thought that the magic power he was drained of would return to him, but that wasn't the case. As Byakuran looked at Kyoya, he simply smiled.
"My spell known as Ghost doesn't just simply drain mana. If that were the case then it would've returned to its owners. You see, the mana that was stolen by Ghost is right here!!!!!!"
Soon a pair of white wings appeared on Byakuran's back. Not only that, Kyoya felt an enormous amount of magic power coming from Byakuran. Soon the man smiled as he lunged at Kyoya.
"Kyoya Fullbuster, there were seven people who made contact with the Witch of Greed. Only one of them is worthy to see her again, the Child of Greed. I'm going to prove that i'm the one worthy of that honor!!!! Our battle starts now. Kyoya Fullbuster!!!!"
Soon Byakuran punched Kyoya into the air. Afterwards, he flew above the boy and kicked him on the head as he was sent crashing into the ground. As Kyoya was about to get up, Byakuran punched him in the gut. As Kyoya coughed up blood, he asked one thing.
"Byakuran....were you the one behind this attack on the village?"
"So what if I am? What can you do?"
"Thanks....since I know you were willing to kill innocent people and to destroy homes just for some dumb reason of meeting someone again....I can beat the shit out of you with no regrets!!!!!!!"
~Meanwhile~
Benimaru was standing in front of Konro with a look of shock on his face. Konro's body didn't even look human anymore. Everytime he tried to speak, all that was heard was a voice full of agony. Soon Konro screeched as a he launched several flames at Benimaru.
"Please....try to come back to your senses Konro. You have to come back."
Benimaru swats away the flames that Konro launched at him. Soon Konro gathered a large amount of flames in his hands and launched them at Benimaru at amazing speed. Seeing this, Benimaru puts his hand forward as the flames were split apart as they were going around him.
"You of all people should know this Konro. I won't lose in a battle with Flame Magic involved. Did you forget that I can control flames that aren't mine as well?"
As Benimaru waved his arm, the flames that Konro launched at him were sent back to him at full strength. Soon Konro charged at Benimaru and threw a punch at the man. Seeing this, Benimaru moved to side as he let's the punch go pass him. Afterwards, he grabbed Konro's arm and slams into the ground.
"Please Konro!!! You have to snap out of it!!!! You need to live!!!! This is our home, remember?! We're the protectors of Sun Village!!!! A guy like me could never run this place, you're the one person everyone needs Konro!!!!!"
"Beni...............it burns..........."
Soon Konro screamed in agony. Even now, he felt the pain of the flames consuming him. Benimaru knew that Konro was suffering, but he didn't want him to die. Yet if he lets him live like this, that's basically making his torture last longer.
"Damn...in the end, I can't do anything when push comes to shove, huh? I can't protect a damn thing."
~Flashback~
Benimaru and Konro were seen sitting down in a dojo. As they looked forward, they saw the strongest mage in Sun Village. Their teacher, and Benimaru's foster father, Hibachi Shinmon.
"Listen you two, no one lives forever. That goes for me as well. So when i'm gone, Benimaru, I want you to be in charge of Sun Village."
As Hibachi said this, Konro smiled as he was happy for Benimaru. Meanwhile, the boy in question had only one thought in his mind.
"Why the hell did you pick me old man? I'm not even your real son. Besides, you could've easily married another woman and had a child yet you picked up a street rat like me. What are you playing at?"
Hibachi sighed as he walked towards Benimaru. When he stood in front of the boy, he simply picked him up and threw him at the wall. As Konro rushed to Benimaru's side, Hibachi spoke up to him.
"You're right, a man can have as many lovers as he want. But there was only one woman I truly loved. That woman is gone and I had no child with her. She was the only woman i'd ever consider having a family with because she's the only woman I truly loved with all my being. As for why I picked you, that should be obvious. Just like my departed lover is the only woman i'll acknowledge as my wife, you're the only boy i'll acknowledge as my son. When I trained you, i passed something down to you. The will of fire. To set your heart ablaze so nothing can destroy it."
Soon a villager walked into the dojo he said that various beasts were heading towards the village. Seeing this, Hibachi told Konro and Benimaru to follow him as they were going to try to stall the beasts as he ordered the villager to contact the magic knights.
As Benimaru and Konro were fighting off as many beasts as they could, they saw the magic knights arriving. Soon the tide of the battle was turning to their favor. Konro and Benimaru both ran back to the village. When they arrived, they saw Hibachi save one of the magic knights from being devoured by a beast. However that magic knight didn't seem all to pleased by this.
"A commoner dares to act tough in front of me. You should know your place."
"I do know my place and it's leagues above you. If a royal and magic knight can only complain, then beat it. Weaklings like you won't last two seconds in the real world."
The royal simply smiled as he looked to his associates. As Benimaru was too exhausted from the number of fights he had earlier, all he could do was watch what happened to his father. A large gaping hole was seen inside of his chest as his blood was dripping to the ground. As the royal walked away, he spoke to the other magic knights.
"We'll report that Sun Village was successfully saved, but Hibachi Shinmon lost his life saving a villager. Besides, a street rat like him could never be useful to the kingdom."
As the magic knights left, Benimaru went to his father's body. He sat down before him as he shook his body. He couldn't help but talk to him in hopes of him getting up.
"Old man....come on. Wake up already. We did it, we saved Sun Village. We can train all you want, we can fight all you want, but you can't do that if you're asleep. Come on, please wake up. I'm begging you.....this village won't be the same without you. I'll behave myself, i'll protect everyone here, i'll take training seriously....JUST WAKE UP DAD!!!!!!"
~Flashback ends~
As Benimaru jumped away from Konro, he saw a few matoi near him. He couldn't protect his father, he couldn't melt the ice that covered his town. He couldn't even save his one friend who was always there for him. As he heard Konro scream in pain, he could only do one thing.
"Don't worry Konro, I won't let you suffer like this. If you meet the old man, i'd like you to ask him some things. Was I a good son? Have I earned the right to call him a father? But most importantly, I want you and him to answer this question.........will I ever be a good person? Here I come, Konro. The festival of flames is about to began."
