Asta, Noelle, and Kyoya were in awe as they listened to the girl singing. They all could agree on one thing, this girl had a beautiful singing voice. Soon Kyoya noticed all the bubbles around them.
"So are these bubbles part of her magic?"
"Maybe they launch at us and explode or can slice us apart?"
"Is she from Raque?"
As soon as the girl heard the trio speaking, she gasped and had an excited look on her face. The girl jumped from the rock and walked over to them.
"Ah, you heard me singing. Well there's no way around it. Let's be friends."
"Aren't we moving a bit too fast!!!!!"
"Guess I should probably introduce myself. My name is Kahono."
As Asta and Noelle were introducing themselves, Kyoya realized something. This Kahono girl was an extrovert to the extreme. Meaning that his quiet days of being introverted might be coming to an end. It filled him with a sense of dread unlike anything else.
"So who are you, Mr.Gloom?"
"I'm Kyoya...nice to meet you."
"Okay, i understand that. But where did your shirt vanish to?"
As Kyoya looked at himself, he noticed that he was only in his boxers. He would question why this always happened, but he already knew the answer. Looks like Ur had a bit too much influence on him. Meanwhile, Kahono merely laughs at Kyoya's reaction.
"So what are you doing out here?"
"This is the perfect place for voice training. See between my singing, dancing, and voice training is my dream. I want to become an idol."
"What the hell is an idol?"
Kahono was shocked by how blunt the trio was with their reaction. Not to mention the fact that they didn't know what an idol was.
"Look idols are people who are super good at singing, dancing, and using magic. I'm gonna work so hard to be one that i'll be crazy rich."
"Really that's why you want to be one. I don't see what's so good about money, it just gets in the way."
As soon as Noelle said that, Asta and Kyoya just stared at her. While Asta just simply disagreed with her and tried to explain, Kyoya was using some extreme language in his head.
"What the fuck do you mean it gets in the way!!!! It helps you get so much that you need in life. A noble like you would never understand us broke people!!!! You motherfucker!!! You stupid ass motherfucker. You think you're so great that you can waste money? FUCK NO!!!! KEEP WASTING MONEY AND YOU'LL BE BROKE LIKE ME!!!! WHY CAN'T YOU SEE THAT, YOU SON OF A BITCH!!!!"
"Asta and Kyoya understand what I mean. Money is really important. I feel like you two really get me."
As Kahono laughed, she looked at Asta and noticed something. Asta's body was weakened. She could tell that his muscles were pretty fatigued. Seeing this, she decided to help him out a bit.
"Song Recovery Magic:Healing Lullaby."
As Kahono sings, water bubbles appear in the air and gather around Asta's injuries, healing him and recovering his stamina. As Asta moves around, he realized he wasn't sore anymore.
"Now that will be 100 yul."
"You're charging me?!"
"Yep, pretty much. If you ever need to heal quickly my songs are always ready to help, for the price of course."
As Asta paid her, he couldn't believe how he just spent 100 yul so quickly. Meanwhile Noelle merely considered that as pocket change. Hearing this, Asta and Kyoya only thought one thing.
"Damned royalty!!!!"
"Stuck up, rich girl. When I get through with you....hmph!"
As Kyoya made a sword out of ice, Asta was holding back from going crazy. Kahono merely laughed as she saw all this. It was fun to be around people that are close to her age.
"I'm too tired for this. I'm going to bed. See you later."
After saying that, Kyoya went back to the lodge. While he was walking away, a small smile could be seen on his face. For some reason he felt a little more relaxed after that event. As he fell asleep, he had one thought.
"Friends do help each other out. Let's see if my new friend can help out the hopeless royal."
~Timeskip~
It's been six days since Kyoya met Kahono. He knew he couldn't do anything to help Noelle, so he decided to let someone more capable of helping her to do so.
During these days, Kyoya noticed how hard Noelle was working to control her magic. Tonight was the night before their mission, so he knew Noelle might be feeling some pressure. As he noticed that Asta and Noelle were already at the beach, Kyoya decided to play his rule as her superior.
"Captain Yami, I got a favor to ask you."
"What is it?"
"Have the rest of the squad meet me on the beach."
As he said this, Kyoya walks off onto the beach. Seeing this, Yami smirked as he looked at the ice mage leaving. When he did, he said one thing to himself.
"Heh, so he does actually care about something."
~With Noelle~
"The full moon is tomorrow. I need to control my magic better. If I don't...."
"Noelle!!!! I got an idea!!!!!!!"
Noelle soon turned towards Asta. She was surprised the muscle brained idiot could actually come up with an idea. Soon Asta finally spoke up on what to do.
"Noelle, you should let your mana go wild. Kahono did say you were trying too hard to hold back your mana. Maybe relaxing and letting it do it's own thing might work."
"I can't do that!!! If I mess up-"
"I'll protect everyone with my sword and stop you before you hurt anyone!!! So just do it Noelle!!!!"
Soon Noelle gave up on arguing with him. She starts to relax her body as a strong amount of mana was exerted from her body. A large sphere of water was seen manifesting around her. She was struggling to breathe and control her magic.
"Kahono said to think of kind memories before casting my spell to have better control. I guess it's true....I am a failure. How can I focus on a fond memory when I don't have any?"
"You can do this Noelle. After all, you're a royal. Are you really gonna let me, a commoner and a foreigner, out stage you."
As Noelle heard this voice, she turned her head to where she heard it. When she did, she saw Kyoya and the other Black Bulls standing to the side as they cheer for her.
"If a rat like me and a boy with no magic can beat the odds against us, then i'm positive you can too. After all, you're a member of the Black Bulls!"
Soon everyone was cheering on for Noelle to succeed. As she slowly opened her eyes, she realized something important. She had more fond memories than she originally thought. The Black Bulls never saw her as a failure or a mistake, they were just like her. A group of misfits that she can be herself around.
"I've spend so many years with my family and I don't have a single good memory to show for it. Meanwhile, i've only been with the Black Bulls for a few months and yet, I have all these memories. And most of them are good ones. They accepted me and relied on me. So now....I want to so something for them!!!!!!"
"Water Creation Magic:Sea Dragon's Cradle!"
Noelle manifests an enormous, smooth sphere of whirling water with a ring of watery globs. As she looked closely, she saw that this was a new spell. She's learned to control her mana properly. As this happened, Kyoya began to walk away. Seeing this, Asta yelled at the ice mage.
"Kyoya, where are you going?!"
"To bed. I hate being around a crowd. Plus since she did it, that means we got a mission tomorrow."
Asta simply smiled as he was sensing Kyoya's ki. He could tell that the boy was happy for Noelle. As he walked away, Kyoya was smiling to himself.
"If she and Asta can overcome their obstacles, then maybe there is some hope for me after all."
