Everyone was in awe as they looked around the treasure room. As they did, Kyoya felt a bit on edge as he was thinking to himself. Could he really keep this? Could he really protect anything if he keeps restraining himself?
As Kyoya stood in silence, Yuno walked around the room as if something was calling to him. When he turned around, he found a scroll amongst the treasures. When he opened it up, he saw writing inside that he's never seen before. As this happened, both his grimoire and the scroll started to glow. Soon the scroll became blank when the glowing stopped.
"Owwww!!! Quit it Nero, you're pecking me to death here."
Asta screamed as Nero kept pecking his head as it tried to lead him somewhere. Soon Asta was just standing in front of a wall. As soon as he questioned Nero again, the bird simply pecked him over and over again. Seeing this, Kyoya simply walked over to him.
"Damn, can you get any louder?"
"It's not my fault! Nero keeps pecking me!!!!"
Kyoya chuckled as he saw the bird pecking Asta. To be honest, Asta reminded him of an old friend he had. While this was happening, Klaus took a look at Mars' grimoire.
"His grimoire....it's all stitched together. Yuno got the Four Leaf Clover and that loud boy got something do dirty that it's barely recognizable."
Soon Klaus' eyes landed on Kyoya. He never saw the boy's grimoire, yet he felt like it wasn't like the others either. However, he didn't have time to think about it as Mars' grimoire suddenly flew out of his hands. As everyone turned around, they saw the diamond mage was back up again.
Soon Mars used his magic to send crystals to Luck, Yuno, and Klaus. As all three mages were being restrained, Klaus was thinking on how Mars recovered so quickly. As he looked at the mage, he saw that his body was coated in flames.
"Is that...Flame Recovery magic?!"
As the group was still in shock by Mars' sudden recovery, Noelle was prepared to use her water magic to put out Mars' flames in hopes of weakening him. However, as Mars turns toward Noelle and Mimosa's location he quickly hits Noelle with a barrage of crystals. As Noelle lands on the ground, everyone saw her bleeding heavily as she was having trouble breathing. Seeing this, Asta and Kyoya's concern were heightened.
"Noelle!!!!!!"
"You basta-"
"What can you possibly do, Kyo-chan?"
Kyoya stopped himself from attacking as he heard this voice. His face was slowly turning pale as he heard it again. As he turned around, he saw the illusion of that woman again. While this was happening, Asta was wondering why Kyoya turned around when there was no one there.
"You should run while you still can. Its not like anyone here sees you as an ally. After all, no one is going to save you. Just like no one came to save your friend or your teacher."
"Kyoya, get a hold of yourself!!! We have to fight!!!!"
As Asta yelled at Kyoya so he can focus, Mars figured out how to counter Asta. While his blade can cancel any magic, it was too heavy to swing continuously. Soon Mars created multiple blades made of crystals as he launched them all at Asta. As Asta tries to counter them all, Mars quickly charged forward and punched Asta straight into a wall. Since Kyoya was still frozen in fear, Asta crashed into him as they were both sent through the wall.
Soon Asta's anti-magic sword was stabbed into the ground as the boy landed far away from it. As he and Kyoya were on the ground, Mimosa was trying her best to heal Noelle.
"Plant Recovery Magic:Princess Healing Flower Robe."
Mimosa was covered by vines and flowers, forming a dress. The dress has a pair of wing-like ornaments which are also composed of leaves and flowers. Through this spell, Mimosa was pouring magical power into Noelle in order to heal her.
Seeing this, Mars was starting to make his way towards Mimosa and Noelle in order to finish them off. While this was happening, Asta finally got up.
"That guy's magic really was fast. He changed his fighting style to counter mine, so I need to do the same thing. But how can I do that?"
As he was trying to form a plan, he saw Nero flying towards him. As Nero landed, Asta saw the bird on top of a hilt of a sword.
"This sword....maybe....just maybe....it could help me turn the tides, but first."
Asta's eyes landed on Kyoya. He was severely injured as well, yet it looked like it didn't bother him. No, it looked like something else distracted him.
"Just abandon them Kyo-chan. You need to live no matter what. The only way you're allowed to die is if you fight against me. Come on, just leave. Its not like they would try to save you. Besides, you were always such a helpless case. Always being saved, but never saving anyone in return. Just how messed up are you?"
"I......I......."
"Get it together Kyoya!!!!!"
Suddenly Asta punched Kyoya's face. When the ice mage looked up, he saw Asta staring at him with a serious expression.
"Are you really just going to sit here?! We need to save them, now!!!!! We're comrades remember!!!!! So hurry up and help me protect them!!!!"
Soon Asta rushed out of the wall. Just when Mars was sending more blades made of crystals at Mimosa and Noelle, Asta used his new sword to strike down all of the crystal blades.
"That boy again....where did that new sword come from!"
"Leave them alone....your opponent...is right here!!!!"
As Asta charged forward, he was using the new sword he obtained to counter Mars'. As he got close, he jumped in the air and slashed Mars across his chest. When he did, he saw the flames on Mars' body healing his wounds as the diamond mage slammed his fist onto Asta. As this happened, Kyoya was getting out of the wall.
"My......comrades.........."
When Asta said those words, it jolted something in Kyoya. He was so consumed by his fear from the curse, that he forgot something. Something very important that Ur told him.
"Use your magic for protecting people. If you trust your friends and comrades, then don't hesitate to reveal your grimoire and fight with all you have to protect them."
"Heh.....i'm such an idiot."
As Kyoya said this, a cold air surrounded him as his grimoire was glowing. Sensing this, Mars turned his attention towards Kyoya. As this happened, Kyoya puts his hands together.
"I'll admit, at first I couldn't understand Ur's words back then. I was alone, I never had anything to protect. But now.....something is different from back then. Unlike then, I have people in front of me that need my help. Unlike then, I finally have the power to do something. If I sat back and did nothing just because I was too scared and it caused my comrades to die......THEN I COULD NEVER LIVE WITH MYSELF!!!!!"
A large amount of mana was being exerted from Kyoya. He was putting every last drop of his strength left in this next attack. As Kyoya was ready to attack, Ur's spirit could be seen next to him as she was in the same stance. Seeing this, Mars grew agitated as he was ready to attack.
"Begone, you damn pebble!!!!!!"
"Asta....Ur....thank you. Ice-Make:Rose Garden!!!!!!!"
Kyoya releases chunks of ice in the form of roses and thorns towards Mars. As the attack connected, Mars was not only damaged but his entire body was also frozen. As this happened, Asta was running towards him.
Kyoya slowly fell on the ground, as he was about to hit the floor he only said one thing to his newest comrade in the Black Bulls.
"That was my all.......so I leave it up to you. Finish this......ASTA!!!!!!"
"I won't let you down!!!!!"
As Asta jumped up he slams his blade into the frozen Mars. The ice broke apart and Mars felt several of his ribs being broken as he was sent flying through a wall while Asta landed on the ground. As this happened, Kyoya thought to himself as he was slowly closing his eyes.
"I'm sorry it took so long for me to realize your words Ur. I'm such a hopeless idiot. But even so, I hope you'll allow me to say this. Thank you....for teaching me how to use my magic. Thank you for saving me that day. And thank you for teaching me....on how to live."
