It was the next day and you decided that it was a good idea to skip class and sleep in. There really wasn't anything you had to do since everyone was preparing for the magic sword tournament that was happening tomorrow. Even though you tried your best to sleep in, the universe thinks otherwise. You woke up to an owl tickling you in the morning trying to deliver a message from Melheis requesting you to go back to bodiam. It wasn't uncommon for the elders to check up on you using messenger owls, but you knew it was never good news when you did get notes. You sit up to read the note.
Be at bodiam by 13:00. No exceptions.
Here comes another lecture. You knew that you were about to get in trouble for participating in the tournament. You were supposed to keep a low profile, but it wasn't your fault that the demon academy board of directors selected you to do it. You didnt have a choice since the tournament was also the only way youd be able to get out of your contract with anos and stop being his subordinate. Even though you really had no intention of competing, you needed to think of a way to convince the elders to let you compete. You sigh as you plop back down into your pillow, hoping that you can get a couple of more hours of sleep before teleporting to the elders. Little did you know that by the time you close your eyes, you were already teleported back in the conference room in bodiam.
"Great of you to stop this morning young Y/N '' You instantly open your eyes to find yourself laying in the center of the conference table as the elders surround you around the table.
"AH. HOW AND WHEN DID I GET HERE!?" you yell as you cover yourself with a blanket since you were wearing a pink silk lingerie tanktop and shorts set. You hated whenever the elders would do this.
Zoro couldn't help but smirk at you as he says "you're here to explain why you are participating in the tournament. We told you specifically to keep a low profile and avoid drawing attention to yourself, but it seems that you might've forgotten."
As zoro was talking, you slowly got off the table to take a seat at the window in order to avoid flashing any of the elders more than you already have. As all eyes were on you, you responded.
"I know what we had agreed on about the deal. It's not my fault that everyone else in the academy was weak. There's nothing I can do now because forfeiting the tournament will draw even more eyes and attention to myself. "
As the elders whispered amongst each other, you did have a point since the magic sword tournament was such a large event, that forfeiting will result in you being the talks of the town. Millions of demons come to watch the event so it's pretty big and important in the deam realm.
"Well, we need you to make sure you do not win the tournament. You do not need more attention than you have already gotten. You will lose in the beginning so you dont raise any questions. You will also avoid using root magic and other complicated spells. Keep it simple and end it early." Melheis responds as he gets up and walks toward you. You nod as you make eyecontact with Melheis as he stands in front of you.
Zoro interrupts our staring contest by asking a question. "So have you found any new information about the demon king? Are there any students that stand out in the class that are worth to note and keep an eye on?" You turn to zoro as you respond.
"I don't have any new information about the demon king, but I do know that one of the competitors, anos voldigoad, is a worthy opponent that will have everyones eyes on him. He stands out compared to everyone there, but it seems too far of a sketch to consider him the reincarnation of the demon king so i will keep watch him and give you more information when i find out." you say with a straight face. Even though you had a strong hunch that anos was the demn king, you didnt want to let the elders know just yet since you had something planned to get rid of the demon king. Your answer was enough to please the elders so you were excused and sent back to the academy. Unfortunately, you werent sent back to your dorm room. You were teleported into class and in the front and center of the whole class. You could feel your cheeks getting red as you look around to see all the boys in the class drooling over your body and girls glaring at you for wearing such revealing clothing. Even anos and ray had smirks on their face as they saw your body in lingerie.
"Everyone settle down. Ms. Y/N, it's great for you to make it to class, but why on earth are you wearing that. Not only are you 2 hours late, but you decided to wear that to class? Please take your seat." Emilia states before resuming the class.
You wanted to instantly teleport back into your room and change, but you couldn't since that'd draw even more attention than you already have. You sigh as you begin walking up the aisle to take your seat. You could hear whispers coming from everyone as you walked through the aisle, but you decided to ignore them since there was nothing you could do. Unfortunately, your seat was in between anos and ray so you tried your best to avoid eye contact with both of them as you took your seat and tried to focus in class, but you could feel both anos and ray taking glances at you.
You become distracted as anos places his jacket over you and leans in to whisper in your ear.
"Pink really does suit you, but it seems like you're a bit cold huh?" You were confused about what he was talking about until you realized that your nipples were showing through your tank top since you werent wearing a bra. You blush as you instantly cover yourself with anos' jacket.
"it's okay no one saw... except for me" anos says as he smirks at you. You let out a sigh because you couldn't wait for class to be over with. Once Emilia concludes class, you spring up out of your seat instantly and try to teleport back into your room. You feel something holding onto you, but you didn't have any time to worry about that since you just wanted to get away from everyone and put on a bra and regular clothes. Little did you know, anos was the one that was holding onto you and had teleported with you into your room. It took you a moment to realize that your whole body was under anos, but you were shocked that anos was able to teleport with you. Typically it's really hard to teleport with people, unless they were strong or knew a teleportation spell, since it makes people sick, but it seemed like anos was completely fine after teleporting with you. Your face was inches away from anos' as his body lays on top of yours.
You blush as you make eye contact with him. "Anos! What are you doing here!?" Anos looks around and realizes that this was your room.
"You were the one that teleported me here so it's not my fault. Seems like you were in a real rush to get out of there huh" You sigh as you realized that today was just getting worse and worse. Anos could see the stress on your face as you silently cursed at the elders for ruining your morning. He found your face really cute as you furrowed your brows so he couldn't help but blush slightly as he looked at your crystal clear skin and beautiful E/C eyes. You realized that anos was still on top of you and staring at your face.
"Uhm. will you get off of me!?" You blush as you push him off of you. He tries to give you a hand and help you up, but you slap his hand away as you get up on your own.
"I don't need your help. You should be training for the tournament and not be wasting your time here. I dont want to win that easily so make sure you bring it on tomorrow." You say as you pat the dust off your clothes after getting up. You realized that you still had his jacket on so you took it off and placed it on your vanity chair.
"Bold of you to think that you'll win. Remember what happened during the team competition? I dont think that I'm the one that needs the training." Anos says with a smirk on his face as his red demon eyes look at you.
"You were only able to win because you got lucky! I'll definitely win the tournament tomorrow so that i can get out of our deal. I hate being your subordinate." You say as you place your hand on your hip. Anos raises his eyebrows as he hears you say this. " gee i didnt think you hated it that badly. Tell me is there anything I could do to ease your discomfort." Anos says as he walks towards you, slowly backing you up to the end of your bed. You usually weren't the type of girl that would let her guard down nor were you the type to be intimidated by people, but anos made you intimidated as he backed you up. As you trip onto the bed, anos lowers himself to hold your chin up to make you look into his eyes. His red demon eyes were piercing straight into your soul, but you didn't mind it. In fact, you kind of liked looking at how beautiful his eyes were. Just as you were stuttering to put your thoughts into words, anos leaned closer and closer to you as he wraps his arm around your waist and begins lifting up your shirt. Suddenly, your room door flings open as Ray walks straight into your room, uninvited. You heard anos mutter something under his breath as he gets up. You decide to grab his jacket to make it seem less awkward.
"Oh look who we have here! Good evening mr. Anos, what a delight to find you here. I figured you must've teleported home after class, but I didn't expect to find you in Y/N's room."
Anos takes his jacket from you. "I just wanted to ask Y/N if she was free tonight since I wanted to show her something." you try to avoid eye contact with anos. Before you could respond, Ray interjects.
"Oh she's not free. We have plans together today." Your head pops up as you hear ray say this. "We do?" "Yeah we do. Remember?" Ray winks to you as he looks at you. You took the hint and nodded to confirm that you had plans with ray. Anos looks at you and sighs. "If that's the case, then have fun." He swings his jacket over his shoulder and walks out of your room. You turn your attention to ray. "We made plans?" You had a confused look on your face as ray just walked out of your room. "Hey! Wait up! Answer my question!" You shout right as he reaches the doorway. "Yeah we do! Get dressed and let's go!" You realized that you were still in your pajamas. You instantly cover yourself with your hands which make Ray laugh as he closes the door behind him as he leaves. You sigh as you yell into your pillow. First ray, now anos!? You turn and stare at the ceiling trying to process what happened yesterday and today. You quickly get dressed and catch up with Ray before he leaves the campus.
"Ray, wait up! Where are you going!?" You run toward Ray in a dark trench coat, white tank top, black jeans, and thigh high boots. Luckily, you were able to sneak pass your demon guards by creating a hologram copy of yourself inside your room. You were able to disguise yourself with this outfit since it was different from your typical attire and people never saw you wear things besides your school uniform. Ray doesnt say anything so you walk with him in silence. About 10 minutes pass and ray suddenly stops at a hospital building. You were confused why ray would be going here since his body and health seemed fine. "This is it. We're here" ray says as he approaches the front gate to ring the doorbell. It didn't take long for the front gates to open and ray motioned you to follow him in. You were confused, but you kept following ray in the hopes to better understand why he would be going to a hospital. As we pass through nurses, doctors, and patients, my curiousity continued to grow since Ray seemed to be very familiar with the hallways and rooms. After walking through a few hallways, ray and you reach a large double doored room of a patient named sheila. Ray opened the door and walked inside with you following. You see a young woman in her late 30's laying on the bed, sleeping. Her body was glowing as if she was almost transparent. You werent sure who this woman was but you knew instantly that she was not a pure breed demon. Ray saw you looking at the woman lying down so he decided to speak first. "Life is really funny, you know. She's done nothing but give me the best life, but now it's time for her to go. Good things never seem to happen to good people huh." Ray says as he looks at the glowing woman. You couldnt help but question. "Ray is this your adoptive mother? What happened? Why is she disappearing?" you could see the sadness in Ray's face as he tries to put his thoughts into words "This is my mother, sheila. She's a hybrid half demon and half spirit. Unfortunately, she's slowly disappearing due to a spirit disease. I've been trying to get her the best treatment to help with her disease, but nothing seems to have worked." ray pauses as he tries to hold back his tears. You try to comfort Ray by rubbing his shoulder to reassure him that it ws okay for him to let out his emotions. Even though you never had the luxury of having family members, you knew it was hard to see the people you love in pain. Ray eventually continues "you might be wondering why i brought you here, well i just wanted you to know that i have to win the magic sword tournament no matter what. In order to help my mother receive treatment, I've made an agreement with some people that promised me large amounts of money to get my mother treated." You knew what ray was trying to imply. He wanted you to either forfeit the match and/ or allow him to win. This didnt come as a surprise to you that you had to lose since the elders already told you to lose anyway, but ray didnt know that. You tilt rays head so that you could look into his eyes.You could see he felt awful for asking you to forfeit a match and getting you involved in his problems.
"I'll do it. Ray its okay. Your mother needs treatment so I will respect your wishes tomorrow" You could see ray starting to tear up as you stare into his eyes. Before you could say anything else, Ray grabs you into a hug, wrapping you around the waist and leaning on you as he silently cried. You decide to hug him back to stop him from crying. Then suddenly you hear whispers coming softly from the bedside. You turn your attention to the bed to find Ray's mother smiling as she watched you and Ray hug. You immediately push ray away. "Mother! You're awake, This is Y/N, she's one of my competitors for the tournament tomorrow." Ray says as he grabs his mother's glowing hand. "What a beautiful young woman. You must be really strong to be competing in the tournament." Sheila says as she looks at you. You blush as you try to nod in disagreement, but Ray was quick to object your answer. "She's really strong and powerful. She's gotten me out of trouble a few times too so I owe her a lot" Ray says as he looks at you smiling. Sheila could see the way ray looked at you and knew that there was something there between you and ray. She smiled. "Well ray, you better be sure to protect her and treasure her. No funny business when it comes to love... Y/N please continue to love ray. I know he can be too much at times, but he has a heart of gold in the end." you tried to interject to clarify that you and ray werent a thing, but ray interrupted you. "Will do mother. It's starting to get late. We should get going now." Ray says as he gets up and grabs your wrist to leave. In an instant, Ray was already dragging you out the door as you tried to fight back. " bye mother!" Ray says as he slams the door before you could say anything. You punch ray in the face right as the door closes. "RAY! WTF, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL SHEILA THAT WE AREN'T TOGETHER!?" Ray ignores your question and walks away. You kept trying to get Ray to talk, but he didn't say anything even after leaving the hospital. As you were getting more irritated by Ray's silence, you accidentally bump into him as he stands in front of misha and anos, who were right outside the hospital.
"What are you two doing here?" Ray asks as he looks at misha and anos." We were just in the area and wanted to check out the top hospital in dilhaide" Misha says as she looked at anos for confirmation, to which he nods. You and Anos look at each other as Misha and ray were talking to each other. You couldnt help but be a little mad once you heard that misha and anos went on a cat cafe date and he gave her a ring. There was definitely tension between you and anos, but you tried your best to play it off cool. Suddenly anos sends you a telepathic message to you. "Can we meet up tonight?". You wanted to be a little petty since anos seemed to like playing games. "No. if you want a booty call, hit up misha since you and her seem to be dating" You smile as you begin to walk off away from everyone.
"Too bad. We're meeting up tonight whether you like it or not, right subordinate" Anos' message stops you from taking another step. You quickly turn around with your fists clenched and ready to swing at anos, but your actions were quickly shut down by a nearby owl that was watching you. You knew that something was up with the owl since you had seen it around everywhere you went, but you didn't know whether you were overly paranoid. Ray breaks you out of your thoughts as he begins to talk to anos.
"I'm looking forward to our battle tomorrow Sir Anos. I will be bringing my best skill sets to the battle so I expect you to do the same. You too Y/N!" You and Anos smile as you hear Ray's challenge. You already knew what you had to do tomorrow, but what will happen between ray and anos' battle?
