**** this chapter is based off of Season 3 Episode 13 Déjà Q & Episode 15 Yesterday's Enterprise****
"Frightening one race after the other, teasing them like frightened animals, and you enjoying every moment of your victims fears" Dezirae hears Guinan say as she walks into Ten Forward "from now on I'll do missionary work, okay?" Q replies sarcastically "that would be a most noble cause, Q" Data says as he walks over and stands behind his dark chocolate colored friend in red not catching Q's sarcasm "you could learn a lot from this one" Guinan tells Q "sure, the robot who teaches the course in humanities" Q replies keeping his sarcastic tone "I am an android, not a robot" Data replies "I beg your pardon" Q says "I'd enjoy that, and you'd better get used to it" Guinan says to Q "what?" Q asks "begging you're a pitiful excuse for a human the only way you're going to survive is by the charity of others" Guinan replies "peppermint tea please" they hear Dezirae say to the bartender(s) Q and Data look over at her as Guinan walks over to the bar and starts making her a non-simulated tea..... Guinan keeps a few specific herbs for her own pleasurable use that she gave her employees/co-workers permission to use for Dezirae when she needed them like times like these when Q is around for long periods of time.... as the bartenders place two trays of chocolate sundaes on the bar top "oh, I'm not hungry" Q moans "just pass those around to who may want them.... no need for them to get wasted thanks Guin" Dezirae says as she takes the cup of hot tea from her Guinan smiles at her then nods at the two bartenders who go to do as ordered and Data walks over to where Dezirae stands as she takes her first sip of her tea then says "hello Data" Data replies "hello Dezirae" he then notices that she seemed to "space out" as people would say and turn her body so that she now stares out of the large windows "we're about to have company...." Dezirae says softly then she asks Guinan "do Calamarain's like ice cream sundaes!?... if they do they should be grateful Dea isn't here they'd be in for a fight" Guinan smiles as she hides a chuckle and Data looks at her (Dezirae) oddly then he sees what she had sensed as a bright white light flows past then through the window and towards Q "what do you suppose he did to them!?" Dezirae asks Guinan who replies "nothing good!" Dezirae nods in agreement Data starts to rush over to Q who becomes engulfed in a white light but stops when he feels Dezirae gently grip his wrist and he turns to face her with an odd expression on his face "I don't want you getting hurt too" she tells him he nods then stays put though his duty told him to help his "non-existent" heart told him to stay as Q cries out in fear as soon as the white light disappears Q falls to the floor and screams "help me! somebody, help me!" Guinan walks over to him and says as she stares down at his helpless semi-frozen form "how the mighty have fallen" Data looks at Dezirae "give it a few seconds just to make sure they have truly left his body" Dezirae says he nods then asks "how is your headache?" she replies "surprisingly soothed I think in harming him they helped me.... maybe because I had stopped you from helping him.... though I have no doubt it will return soon but I'm prepared" she raises her tea cup and a small smile slides up the corner of his lips he notices a shimmer of concern flash before her eyes then disappear as quickly as it came and he wondered why she was concerned the danger was over.... wasn't it!?....
After leaving Ten Forward Dezirae returns to Engineering to help Geordi despite Data's insistence that she should rest "I got my tea.... which now has a spill-free cover I'll be fine besides I helped come up with the idea I should help see it through" she tells him he gently kisses her lips making her blush then watches her walk away with a curious expression on his face that turned into a smile then he heads to the Bridge for a meeting of the minds with Q, Picard, Riker and Deanna.... Dezirae works inbetween Data and Geordi as they work with Q to work the basic Enterprise magic and pray to every god known and unknown that it works she walks around Geordi to take over for a very bored looking Q pushing his chair out of her way with a scoff as Q looks at her with an appalled shocked expression on his face "engage field coils tractor beam to stand by field output?" Geordi says "2-17" Dezirae replies "impulse engines to full ready to engage tractor beam" Geordi says as he walks to the other side of the room with a smile on his face "lowering shields engage tractor beam" they hear Riker say into the com "extending warp field forward" Geordi says "Engineering, is that the forward limit?" they hear Picard ask through the comms "yes, Captain we are unable to encompass the entire moon" Data replies "do you recommend that we proceed?" Picard asks "the two parts of the moon will have different inertial densities" Q says "stand by, Captain I can adjust the field symmetry to compensate" Geordi says as turns and he watches Dezirae start what he just said he could do which makes his smile grow "I doubt it" Q replies "you don't know what this ship can do, Mister" Geordi replies then he asks Dezirae with a smile "you really have learned haven't you!?" she replies "I had some really good teachers" he walks over to see just how good she did and says into the com "yes, Captain, I still believe it'll work increasing power and warp field and tractor beam" he pats his friends shoulder and she moves over so he can take over the controls she was working on as Q says "and if you're wrong, the moon will crumble due to subspace compression don't say I didn't warn you" Geordi replies "shut up, Q" Q says as he stands up and stares into Geordi's visor "I will not be spoken to in this manner!" Dezirae narrows her eyes at him making him clamp his lips shut like they were super glued together and sit back down with a hint of fear in his eyes "inertial mass of the moon is decreasing to approximately two point five million metric tonnes" Data says going from watching the change in Q just by a simple look from the woman he may indeed love to the control panel he was working on as Geordi walks back over to the other side with a smile on his face "it's working we can move it firing impulse engines" Geordi says softly "Captain, the moon's trajectory has moved point 3% point 4%" Data says into the comms then he hears Dezirae whisper as she looks up at the ceiling and around the room "this isn't good!" he looks at her oddly then they hear Riker order into the com "disengage tractor beam" then they feel the ship shake and Data grips Dezirae's shoulder to help keep her steady as the alarm sounds "Captain, the impact of the blast is pushing us into the upper atmosphere" Geordi says into the com and Data goes back to his controls and says "hull temperature rising-- 2,000 degrees 2,500 degrees" Geordi says "moving to full impulse power" Dezirae looks at Q and says as the ship shakes once more as it gets hit again and a bright blinding light shines around them "you have a choice Q.... die with the rest of us or come up with a "masterful" plan and play hero perhaps if you do the latter rather than the former your people might allow you "back into the fold" as they say" Q raises an eyebrow at her "and before you claim that I care about your ignorant ass I like the rest of us would rather have you off this ship the quicker the better but if you must die then you must die!" she adds and he frowns "I HATE you Q I have ALWAYS hated you and no amount of heroics you do for your own personal gain will make me change my heart" she tells him Geordi and Data look at her in shock Q on the other hand looked heartbroken "Geordi, can you direct any more power to the shields?" they hear Riker ask through the com "we need all the power we have to get out of the atmosphere, Commander" Geordi replies the bright light of the Calamarain's surround Q who had stood up when he heard them whisper and he tries to bat them away as he walks backwards while saying "ah! ah! ah! get off! no, no, no, no, no!" Data starts to rush over to him to try and help him once more and just like last time Dezirae stops him this time instead of gripping his wrist she grips his hand "try activating the structural integrity field" Geordi orders one of his officers who replies as she passes by him "yes sir" Q's body gets raised high into the air "I know he's pissed you off as he does to everyone he meets but we have done nothing to you so if you wouldn't mind taking this some place else before you become just like him and kill many innocent people.... not that he's killed anyone.... to my knowledge anyway!" Dezirae calls out muttering the last 2 parts as Geordi says "it's not working structural field harmonics on manual" they hear Riker say into the com "La Forge hull temperature falling we're in the clear" Geordi replies "diverting power to forward sections now" Q falls down onto the floor unconscious....
Dezirae found out that Q had taken her words to heart and procured a shuttle craft and drove it out and away from the ship making the Calamarain's follow him after she had finally done what Data had ordered her to do and went to her quarters to rest.... once Q's presence was no longer felt and her headache disappeared completely she also heard about Q's "gift" to Data when Data explained how it felt to finally truly laugh.... even if it was uncontrollable and somewhat awkward.... a month or so later Dezirae stands by the window in Ten Forward looking out at a tornado like black hole in the middle of space and whispers to herself as she begins to feel something familiar yet not so familiar "this is interesting!" she turns and finds herself in the same room yet it looked very different and much busier "Guinan!?!" she asks curiously as she walks around helping her friend clear the tables "I know!" Guinan replies "I have to be careful.... I do not believe I am known here" Desiree says Guinan looks around and notices that those around them do indeed seem to not recognize her friend "we have the same color skin maybe I can be your daughter for the time being" Dezirae jokes with a smile Guinan chuckles "though we might have to come up with a explanation as to how I got here I doubt my "arrival" will be in their records" Dezirae says Guinan nods as Dezirae whispers mainly to herself "I wonder if this is some form of altered timeline!" and Guiana looks at her and could see the worry in Dezirae's eyes as she asks herself "just how different will this "Data" be!?.... it's probably best that I don't know....!" Guinan looks at her sadly "you go I'll keep working.... I doubt I have a room to go to anyway" Dezirae tells her Guinan smiles then walks out of Ten Forward..... Dezirae programmed her voice into the computer so that it took her orders as well then she mutters to herself "I guess it is a good thing I learned so much from them!".... the next day Dezirae meets a familiar yet not familiar person.... familiar because of a memory Riker had in his dream state that she watched with him and the memory of her memorial in the holodeck unfamiliar because she has never meet her before Tasha Yar and just like Guinan did when she mentioned borrowing Deanna's Starfleet uniform Dezirae took her own joke "seriously" and introduced herself as Guinan's daughter who was visiting for awhile then made up some random way for her to enter the ship luckily they were at war and Guinan is well known and trusted so not too many questions were asked about her lies.... when Guinan returns she gets a shock of a lifetime herself when she sees Tasha Yar for herself though she was relieved to see that Dezirae was handling everything better than she was and acting as though nothing was different even though they had a ship in their mist that wasn't supposed to be there one from the past that set the course for their future "you know what's odd.... this is a warship and yet there is no counselor to help "calm" the darkness I don't sense Deanna anywhere.... or Worf but that ones a bit too obvious" Dezirae tells Guinan who smiles and teases (talking about Deanna) "maybe that's you!" Dezirae smiles then shakes her head and says "no.... I believe it's you.... after all I have never seen the Ten Forward so constantly busy this is a rushing waterfall compared to your usual steady stream.... and they think I'm you visiting daughter" Guinan chuckles.... Dezirae walks into Engineering curious as to how different it looks from the one she remembers and "accidentally" meets this timelines Geordi and Data "excuse me you can't be in here!" she hears Geordi say "oh sorry.... I got.... lost...." she replies hesitantly especially when she feels this timelines Data's eyes on her and sees the curious expression on his face "you must be Guinan's daughter" Geordi says "oh yes.... names Dezirae though most just call me Dez" she introduces reaching her hand out for him to shake "I'm Geordi and this is Data" Geordi introduces as he shakes her hand "pleasure to meet you" she replies as she shakes Data.... who had copied Geordi's motion.... hand "you too" Geordi says "I'll let you get back to work.... sorry again" she says then she turns around and starts to walk away then hears Geordi ask "hey wait!.... would you like a tour!?" she turns back around and teasingly asks "what happened to "I can't be in here"!?!" he chuckles then she says with a smile "I'd love one" Data and Geordi give Dezirae a semi tour of Engineering while explaining how things work and what they were doing as they work while giving the tour she listened to them equally and realized that this Geordi may have a slight crush on her which she found interesting for the Geordi she knew never felt that way about her then again he knew how the Data in her timeline "felt" about her so he may have just pushed those emotions back as far as they could go.... the next day Dezirae hears a familiar voice say through the com "attention all hands as you know, we could outrun the Klingon vessels, but we must protect the Enterprise-C until she enters the temporal rift and we must succeed let's make sure history never forgets the name.... Enterprise Picard out" and she mutters softly to herself "well at least that hasn't changed!" Guinan smiles at her they do their best to keep themselves steady as the ship rocks from the hits it was taken by the Klingon vessels that are attacking and get back to work cleaning Ten Forward... a few minutes later everything returns to normal and Guinan smiles at Dezirae who returns her smile with one of her own then Guinan presses the com button and says "Captain, this is Guinan is everything all right up there?" then they hear Picard reply "yes everything's fine is something wrong?" Guinan says "no, no, everything's fine sorry to bother you.... though I do believe Dezirae would like to see Data when he's available" Dezirae rolls her eyes at her friend then laughs softly.... Data looks at Picard who nods then he (Data) stands up and walks towards the Turbo Lift he walks into it as soon as it opens then heads to Ten Forward where he finds Dezirae standing by the window looking out into the stars and he walks over to her and as Guinan was asking Geordi about Tasha Data was getting a tale about her and Guinan's adventures that he has no recollection of which didn't surprise either of them any since the timelines differentiated "I found that I missed you!.... and I believe Geordi had a crush on me" Dezirae tells Data once she was finished with her "story" Guinan who was listening in laughs Geordi who was also listening smiles shaking his head at Guinan then he asks her "can you blame me!?!" Guinan replies "no I cannot" Dezirae turns and says to Guinan "it was.... interesting being your daughter for two days" Guinan replies with a smile "and I'm sure it was interesting having you as a daughter for two days" Geordi laughs and Data looks at the three of them with a odd expression and smile on his face
