Chapter 13 : May The Truth Come to Bite Me in the Ass
I sighed finally letting the truth pour out of me. I told them everything. My body stiffened as I finished, eyes trained on Malia, how I knew would be mad. "Any questions?"
Liam put both his hands in the air, blinking like what I said made his head hurt. "S-so you didn't tell anyone for the safety of your sister. Who aren't your sisters, but Allison, Scott and Stiles knew?"
"Well yes."
Stiles sighed, "She didn't tell us about it. We uh found out on our own."
Lydia flared her arms, "How?!"
"Deucalion." Scott ran his hand through his hair, "He didn't just take Cait to get to me. He took her because she's the doppelganger. That's how I know anyways. Stiles found out from the nogitsune, and Allison-"
"I found out because otherwise I would be dead." Allison spoke up. "With a sword in my gut."
Malia placed her hand in a fist, "Does anyone else know?"
"Kira's parents. And Satmoi's pack. But they knew before they met me."
"I knew." Even turned to look at Isaac. "When Scott, Allison, and Stiles went all psyched out Scott printed out a bunt of stuff about the doppelganger. So I started to eavesdrop. More than I'm proud of. I thought it was better if I didn't mention it."
"I knew too." Kira tilted her head, "Like you said my parents knew. And after the whole 'Cait's mother is almost 3000' joke, I just asked my mom about it." I gave the young kitsune a smile.
Malia growled, "I'll see you tomorrow." Malia pushed past me, leaving the room.
"Liam?" I asked the young beta.
"You lied. That's true, but you also thought it was best. And if I've learned anything from the past few weeks of being, well supernatural, is that sometimes you do the wrong thing for the right reason. And as mad as it makes me, I can't act out over it. Look I just came by to drop some food off for my step-dad. I'm just gonna go."
"You want a ride?" Isaac asked the young beta. Lima just nodded the two of them leaving the room.
Slowly I picked my head up from the floor, looking at Lydia. "Lydia?"
"You lied." Her voice almost cracked, "This whole time, you've been lying. Why didn't you trust me enough to tell me. We could have helped. But instead you withheld the truth." Lydia spoke dazed. "You could've just asked for our help." Lydia shook her head, taking her bag and pushing past me.
"Look, Cait. I should probably go, my Dad and I are heading to pick up my mom. I'm sure they'll get over it." Kira gave me a smile before leaving me Stiles Allison and Scott alone in the room.
For a few minutes none of us said anything, till Stiles spoke up. "You know, I shouldn't have to say this. But you did the right thing Cait. I don't blame you for not telling them about it. It was the same sort of thing when Scott didn't tell Allison he was a werewolf. So don't blame yourself either."
I sighed, "But what is Lydia was right? I mean what if they knew, then-then maybe Chloe, Evlynn, and Lottie wouldn't be in hospital bed right now?"
Scott walked over to me, grabbing my hands, "We can't change what already happened. My mom said they would wake up. We just have to wait it out, you did the right thing." He gave me a small kiss on the forehead before all three of them left the room.
A small part of me still thought Lydia was right but I tried to push it down. I walked over to the empty hospital bed still covered in paper.
I started to sort the pages into piles, anything that was true, and anything that wasn't. The last pile being about this earth's doppelganger. A fear burning tears rolled down my face, as I looked over the piles.
Sighing I shoved all of them into the two files Lydia had. I blinked back a few tears burning the file in my hands. The ashes fell to the ground around me, blowing away when I pushed the air.

The next day at school was disastrous. Lydia didn't talk to me, Malia was extra hostile, and Liam, was well Liam. Lottie and the twins are still in the hospital. My mind was a haze. Everything was unclear, unfocused. I could barely get my locker combination done.
"Cait!" I turned slamming my locker door shut when Scott called my name.
"Hey." I tried to fake a smile but it didn't really work.
"Hey. Umm I know you have a lot on your mind, but I was wondering if you could come to Derek's with me. I uhh, need to return-"
"Please. It would give me an excuse to do something." I begged as Scott stopped rambling.
"Yeah. I'll take you over before school tomorrow."

Derek pushed the duffel bag worth of cash back across the table to Scott, "Okay."
"Don't you wanna know why it took so long to return it?" Scott asked sheepishly.
Derek shook his head at the young alpha, "How much do you make at the Animal Clinic?"
"Minimum wage." Scott answered.
"That's why. Everyone gets tempted, Scott. Even a True Alpha."
I strike a laugh, "Just saying, if I was in your shoes, I probably would have spent it on the pile worth of hospital bills from the past two years."
Scott looked more shook than anything, "You're not angry?"
"It's not even mine. It belongs to Peter." Derek said pointing to the bag of cash.
"Where's your money?"
"You're standing on it."
Scott looked to the ground for a second, "There's another vault?"
I rolled my eyes, "No you dork. He owns the building." Me and Derek both laugh a bit at Scott, being well, Scott.
"She's right. And I have my own bank accounts. All the money from the vault was Peter's. I think we'd actually be better off if the rest never came back." Derek stood and zipped up the bag. He sighed when he looked back at me, "What?"
I gulped, "In history today, I had a vision. I know Lydia was here last night. And I know she screamed. Deaton's still working on figuring out what Kate did to you. If anyone can find an answer it's him."
Scott looked over to me, "Or you. Right?"
I tilted my head, "Maybe, right tools, right amount of space."
"Yeah, what would that be?"
"Something we need a human for."

Turns out that is much harder than we thought. I mean we called everyone we could think of. No one could help. Derek eventually gave up yelling at the two of us to get to school. Something about, oh I don't even know.
The first thing to happen when we walked in the building was Mason running up to us. He had this crazy look in his eyes, like something was about to happen. "I think Liam went insane."
"Elaborate please?"
"So me and Liam were doing weights, and right now he's trying to lift like 400 pounds without a spot. And I came to the two of you seeing as you're like the only people still listening too."
"Right now!" Scott rushed out. Mason nodded, causing all three of us to bolt down the hall.
When we got to the weight room, Liam was grunting in pain on the bench press, 400 pounds of weight pushed to his chest. Scott rushed over, Lifting the bar off of the freshman, me and Mason watching the whole thing go down.
Liam started to cough as he sat up. I took it as my que to go over and talk to him. The poor guy was doubling over in pain. "Liam?" Mason spoke his best friend's name.
"I'm fine."
I shook my head, "You don't look fine."
"Cait's right. If you don't want to be with us, that's okay. But don't push your friends away too." Scott whispered, bending down to be at eye level with Liam. Liam looked over to a mirror in the corner, fear slowly covering his face.
I took a seat next to the beta on the bench, "Are you seeing things?"
"What. No!" Liam started to shake his head no, too quickly for it to be true.
"Liam, it's okay." Scott put his hand on his beta's knee, "It's happened to all of us."
"Really?"
"Yeah." I put my hand on the beta's back, rubbing it in small circles, "I remember when Alpha pack came to town. I kept seeing my sisters dead, used as bait to get to me. Allison say her own dead body from time when she thought she was gonna die. Lydia, well when Lydia didn't know what was happening to her, she kept seeing Peter Hale. All of us have gone through that."
"You too, Scott?" Liam asked, his head pointed to the floor.
"All the time. The people I couldn't save. There have been many nights that I laid awake, Erica's dead, or Boyd's, or Aiden's. Even people I didn't know, like the ones used for Jeniffer's gain." Scott looked behind him to see if Mason was still in the room. When he saw he wasn't he turned back to Liam, "There was even a time, right after I became an alpha, I kept seeing myself hurting people. So why don't you tell us what's going on?"
For a moment I watched Liam's chest rise and fall till he spoke, "Berserkers. It's like they're haunting me. I can't sleep because of it. Sometimes I can't even get through class without seeing them. I don't know how you guys are so fearless."
I gave a sad smile, "Trust me when I say, everything I do is based off my fears. Every move I make is so that my fears don't come true. We're not fearless, no one is. It's okay to be afraid."
"You go spend some time with your friends Liam." Scott and I both stood, walking out of the weight room. My phone started to buzz from my pocket.
Slowly I pulled it out, "Hello, this is Caitlin."
"Cait hi this is Melissa. McCall. I'm calling from one of the work landlines. Your sister's are awake."
"I'm on my way." I hung up the phone turning to Scott, "They're up."

I knocked on the door to the hospital room my sister were in. All three of them were awake, sitting up. "You can come in Tia."
I stopped at Lottie's old nickname for me. It was really a joke about only the best disney movie ever made. "You remember."
"We know almost everything." Evlynn said as I walked farther into the room. "Even though we probably shouldn't. Like that whole doppelganger crap we never believed till we were super drunk."
"We also know you have a date to get to," Chloe said in a singsong voice.
"Scott can wait."
"No happening Caity. He is literally your first boyfriend ever there by making this your first real date ever. And we are here until at least 6:30. You're going." Lottie sassed me.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes!" All three of them exclaim.
"Okay-Okay." I walked over to Lottie, "One thing though. I need out-fit advice."
Lottie pulled the phone from my hand, "I thought you never ask." A smirk danced onto her face as a smile came to mine. Maybe everyone here was mad at me, but I would always have these three. I would always have my sisters.
