Third Person POV

Gangnam. One of the busiest streets in Seoul.

At the far end of an alley stood an old villa housing a family of five. In the morning, the beaming sunlight glowed upon the old-fashioned windows as the giant trees swayed and danced along with the soothing wind current. In the early morning, an old ajusshi would be seen leaving his house with three of his sons while the ajusshi's brother watered the trees. In the daylight, the villa glows uniquely on its own, just a peaceful home, it appears. It has been quiet for the past 18 years. However, on this particular rainy night, flashes of car lights beamed at the entrance of the alley. Splashes of footsteps hurried down the dark passage, accompanied by frequent clappings of thunder. The dark figures quickly disappeared into the old villa, one after another.

Although it seems like an ordinary run-down villa- it had polished wooden stairs leading into a brightly lit spacious basement filled with rows after rows of chairs and couches. Women and men quickly took off their soaking jackets before taking their seats. The room hummed with hope and joy. Suddenly, the projector lit up to display the logo of a black phoenix spreading its magnificent wings.

"Brothers and Sisters. The moment we anticipated is finally a reality now. A new chance has been offered to us. Even the sky is celebrating as we rise from the ashes. Now... We have never seen the alpha's society in such an unstable state as it is now. This is our chance to strike. The alphas are blood-sucking monsters. They leech off the innocents until we're drained, and then we're nothing but disposable subjects to them. They aren't humans. They're devils from hell. They use luxury as a mask to conceal their savage natures. They're animals, ready to pounce and kill anyone who deems to be a threat. They're the heathens dominating the entire nation, the government, the laws, the economy, and the people. You and I, we've suffered under their games. We've suffered more than anyone else in this nation. Why? Because the commoners are clueless about the alpha's existence. Except us. Tonight is the beginning of Park Jihyun's Legacy. We will honor his death and destroy the alpha's society once and for all. Hence, his son will be our reminder of Jihyun's unjustified death, and he is here today, sitting proudly amongst us," The Ajusshi proudly smiled at his nephew, who was sitting in front of him. Rumbles of clappings thundered inside the basement. A lean and tall guy sat smiling at his uncle. He had a sharp nose and monolid almond eyes.

"Today, I've decided to disclose the culprits' identities accounted for the tragic death of my nephew's late parents. For centuries, the alpha society went by 5 ranks; the 5th ranks, 4th ranks, 3rd ranks, 2nd ranks, and the supreme alpha. Only one alpha ruled the 1st rank and it reflects their immense power and influence over the entire society. Ironically, today, there are three supreme alphas. What a mess, huh?" The ajusshi continued. His nephew, however, sat nervously staring at the screen on the wall. He's finally ready to face the murderers of his parents, swearing to destroy every single breathing alpha.

"I'll introduce you to the top five ranks. In the 5th rank, housing over 40 alphas stands three famous alphas. The Lee household, Lee Jongmin, Yeong Eunsu, and their daughter, Lee Mira. This household runs all the dirty work such as mafias and gangsters," Pictures of the Lee family popped up on the screen.

"Next, Gae Byung Hun, In Jiwon, and their daughter Gae Haerim. Haerim recently returned from abroad. Their family is on the verge of collapsing so they're desperately seeking help from the top alphas. Haerim has romantic relations with Kim Taehyung, the supreme alpha,"

"Up next, Kang Minseok, his wife Joo Hyunji, and Kang Minah. They own a few nationwide banks and private buildings. Minah is currently dating Jeon Jungkook, the third-ranked alpha. However, the Kang and Jeons aren't allied. The rest of the 5th ranks are negligible," The nephew suddenly sucked in his breath when he heard the name Jeon Jungkook. Nervously, he chewed his lower lips. Maybe it's a different person, he thought.

"Next up- We have the fourth rank. Park Jimin, Kim Namjoon, Jung Hoseok, Shin Minho. Jimin is allied with Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook. Namjoon is allied with Kim Seokjin. Meanwhile, Hoseok and Minho recently allied with Min Yoongi, the 2nd rank alpha due to unknown reasons," The nephew blinked rapidly at Jimin's image. His face looks familiar... but where...?

"The third rank is the Jeons. The heir is Jeon Jungkook-" Everything went blank inside the guy's head as he sat staring at the familiar face. It is him. I was right, he thought. The guy was baffled but looking back at the cars he saw and the way Jungkook dresses, it made sense. So, Sora's working for an alpha? That's why she's so depressed and upset. Guilt filled the guy's chest as he sat worrying about the innocent girl, trapped in the society. He should warn her.

"The 2nd rank is the Min, Min Yoongi. He was one of the anonymous alphas to reveal his identity after being attacked by Lee Mira. The Mins have been playing dirty, brewing up conflicts between households. However, the Mins didn't leave their mansion for almost a month now. The reason behind their absence is unknown. Their security was heightened for the past few weeks too- so we're still investigating his case,"

"And finally... the top supreme alphas. First is Kim Taehyung. His household possesses 20% of prominent corporations and estates nationwide. His household recently transferred Lotte Tower to the Jang,"

"The second supreme alpha is Kim Seokjin. He also holds 20% of the nation's assets. They have immense control over the political system of South Korea. An extremely powerful household. And lastly, we have-"

"SORA?!" The nephew suddenly burst in shock. His jaw dropped in disbelief as he stared at Sora's picture, blood draining from his face. He couldn't comprehend it. He felt dizzy. He couldn't believe the depressed and innocent-looking girl is a supreme alpha. She's been lying to him all along... he thought he was just assuming things, but here he is... staring at her right at her.

"D-do you happen to know her?" Ajusshi asked as he stared at his nephew with his curious eyes. The guy snapped back to reality- only to find the crowd of people staring intensely at him. He began sweating nervously. He needed more time to process all of the information.

"N-no. I don't know her. I just happened to read aloud her unique name," The guy gulped while shaking his head. He was devastated. He kept glancing at Sora's picture. He felt betrayed. She lied to him about Jungkook and herself. Why? But something was bothering him. There's so much more about her... despite having everything... Why is she so depressed?

"Ah. Good, keep her name in mind. She might be the biggest culprit amongst them all, Bogum-shi. Jang Sora is the crowned supreme alpha owning over 30% of the nation's assets economically, politically, and socially. She's been anonymous her entire life until she was revealed last year. She initially dated Min Yoongi long before she was exposed to the alpha's society. But they split up after Yoongi's parents tried to harm her. So, she's now dating Park Jimin and has been protecting his household ever since. She's also known as the rule-breaker. She takes risky actions and has been initiating disastrous troubles. She's our main target," The ajusshi declared, turning back to the slides. Bogum's head was throbbing from the weight of the truth. For some reason, he was anxious and scared at the same time. Sora always complained about her life, she was always drinking... and that Jungkook guy was always watching her... she hated her life.

She hates the alpha's society.

A few weeks later

Sora's POV

After school, we all headed home. Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook had to go through confidential files for their family conferences, so I slipped away since I was up to no good anyways. Appa and Eomma tried talking to me, but I refused to see them because there's no way I'll fall for their vicious intentions again. Considering everyone was occupied, I got bored and sneaked out of the mansion on my own. The guys won't finish their work until late at night, so I had plenty of time to explore the city.

I knew it was risky, but I did it anyways. I needed to know the truth, and most importantly, I was worried- so I had to see him. Rumors circulated the society, claiming Yoongi is dead, so's his father. And it bothers me even if I knew it wasn't true. I've waited long enough. At this point, I don't even know if he's dead or alive. I stood observing the looming elite hotel, glimmering on the corner of the busy streets. It's true, the Mins had patrols three streets away, and there was tight security in and out of the hotel too. Is he even inside? Sighing, I turned around and walked off. I walked aimlessly down the streets and entered a fancy-looking flower shop. The staff rushed inside the store with packages, so I quietly gazed at the colorful flowers. I leaned over and took a sniff of a rich yet soothing smell of a purple flower-

"-I heard he got hurt during a trip-"

"-it's critical-"

"-the hotel is only open until the 75th floor-"

"-no one is allowed up there unless they had authorized permission-"

"-I heard someone tried to kill him-"

"Stop the chit-chat! We need to deliver it to the hotel as soon as possible. Start loading!" An elderly-looking woman snapped at the huddle of staff gossiping in the corner. I quickly glanced at the white mini carrier vans parked outside the store. And sure enough, it had the Min's crescent moon logo plastered on the window. They're delivering to the hotel...

"Good afternoon, miss. How can I assist you?" A staff cheerfully asked, approaching me with a beaming smile.

"Oh, I'm-"

"Min Young-ah- We need some help!" One male staff requested from the back of the store. It must be the staff's name. She darted me an apologetic look when her boss kept calling for her.

"I'm a little bit busy-"

"It's fine. I still haven't decided yet," I smiled, cutting off the staff, so she apologized again and hurriedly rushed away to help her coworkers.

"Min Young! I need you here!" Someone demanded the young female staff again as she was halfway out of the store with a heavy box in her arms.

"I'm-"

"MIN YOUNG- WHERE ARE YOU?!" Someone bellowed from inside the store.

"But I'm-"

"Let me help you," I quickly rushed over to help Min Young with the boxes.

"Oh no no! I don't want to burden you-"

"It's alright a few boxes won't hurt. They seem to need you," I insisted with a bright smile.

"I'm really sorry. Our shop's contract with the hotel is in a critical state... so everyone's a little nervous. But thank you!" Min Young bit her lips as she stared at the crescent moon logo before jogging off. Smirking, I made my way toward the parked vans.

"The second van is ready to go. Come on!" The driver beckoned, grabbing the boxes out of my arms, then shoved them into the van.

"Ah, where is she?! We need to deliver-"

"She's busy right now. I'm assigned to accompany you," I smiled at the driver, so he leaned forward with a hesitant gaze. His misty brown eyes, staring right into mine. He's not gonna fall for-

"Are you new?" He asked, staring at me awkwardly.

"I'll tell you on the way. We can't afford to lose our contract right now," I beamed at him in a bubbly tone, so he nodded and started the van. Excitedly, I hopped onto the tiny passenger seat beside him.

"Put on the pin, noobie," The ajusshi grunts, handing me a name tag. Joo Min Young. I carefully placed it on my shirt, then turned to grin at him. I made up all sorts of stories to entertain the ajusshi on our way to the hotel, and he completely fell for it. I got a little nervous when we arrived at the back storage entrance of the hotel. At least ten guards were patrolling the area, so I sucked in my breath... clenching my fists tightly in fear.

"The first day is always scary," Ajusshi chuckles, coming to a halt at the entrance. A guard signaled Ajusshi to roll down his window, so he did. Sora... stay calm. I pretended to look through some paper documents to distract myself- but I was actually trembling from head to toes.

"A special drop-off as requested. Two more trucks are on the way," Ajusshi informed, pointing at the back of the van when the guard tilted his head to get a better look at me. Maybe this is a bad idea. He stared at me for way too long until beads of sweat formed on my forehead. I'm pretty sure all the guards will recognize me.

"What's your name?" The guards asked curiously.

"J-Joo Min Young," I whispered, shakily turning my face away. My heart wouldn't stop pounding, so I stiffly chewed on my lower lips- but then the guard gave me one last glance before signaling us to enter the hotel's property. Ajusshi and I quickly got off the truck to unload the boxes. A few of the flower shop's staff were already there. I quickly turned to find them disappearing through the back door, one by one.

"Oh Ajusshi! Where's Min Young?-" My head snapped towards one of the staff members in panic, so I quickly lifted up a box and hurried off before I got exposed. I went through the back exit with the heavy box in my arms. You're almost-

"Hey- stop there," A female guard called, walking up to us, so we stopped and turned to her.

"I need to check your identity first," She stated, flipping through her checklist with names and- oh fuck... pictures. There are even pictures... oh shit... I'm in deep shit. I don't even look like Min Young.

"Choi Jisung?" The guard questioned, so a guy quickly raised his hand. She read his name tag, scanned his face, and double-checked her list before permitting him inside the hotel.

"Jeong Minji?" The female guard called again. I can't make it inside at this point. There's no way I can pass this. Quietly, I started backing away from the crowd- I need to get out of here-

"Joo Minyoung...? Joo Minyoung?" The female staff called, but I stayed silent, so she repeated her call. I was about to dash away when I accidentally bumped into a girl causing us to drop the boxes, so I quickly bent down to pick up everything. Aish, I am really digging my own grave right now. What am I doing?!

"I'm sorry," I whispered. Fear loomed over me as I hastily helped the girl.

"What's going on-? Why are you so careless?! Oh- You're Joo Min Young," The guard began pushing her way toward us, abruptly stopping when she noticed my name tag. I stood staring at her with my eyes wide open.

"N-neh..." I stuttered while staring at my hands as she suspiciously observed me. I started panicking, so I quickly scanned the place to search for an escape route, but there was none. The guard flicked through her checklist again to search for my information. Andwae... I have to leave-

"Post 9. They need you on the 8th floor for security checks. Please hurry," A guard suddenly marched through the corridor. The female guard swiftly turned around, nodded at him, then pushed the checklist into the other guard and left us.

Seizing the opportunity, I quickly walked past him while holding my breath. There was a sign on the wall- laundry - left, stationary - forward, and kitchen - right. I turned to check for people, but the hallway was empty, so I quickened my pace and turned left. A few maids suddenly burst out of the laundry room, so I kept my head low as I passed them. As soon as I got inside- I quickly slid the box into a corner and dodged a group of staff ironing suits and dresses.

I crawled across the floor towards the exit door when someone walked over so I pushed myself under a cabinet filled with towels. I can't wander around the hotel dressed like a homeless person! I quickly reached for a dress dangling over the rack and immediately changed into it. The way to the exit was clear again, so I swiftly crawled towards it- grabbing a pair of heels stacked securely on a wooden cabinet. I lightly pushed the door open, so the staff wouldn't notice, and before they even knew it- I raced out into the hotel's hallway. FUCK. It was filled with guests and guards. Aish... What did I expect?

I noticed a sunglass dangling from a bag to my right, so I grabbed it, then put it on to cover my face. I did a sharp turn into the lobby's bathroom to put on the heels I stole and started to let my hair down. Surprisingly, someone's bag was placed on the bag's cabinet, so I hurriedly went through it and found a scarf - one of the toilet stalls clicked. Shit! It must be the owner!

I hurriedly left the bathroom with the scarf wrapped loosely around my head. Guards were stationed everywhere as they stood eyeing the guests bustling within the hotel territory...

Yoongi must've returned. Why else did they restrict the security levels here...?

I strode towards the elevator with confidence and that's when I noticed people were holding onto these small white cards, and they were formally dressed up- W hich means they're attending an important event...? I took a closer look, and it was an invitation card. I need that. Yoongi could be there. A middle-aged woman carelessly slips her card into her dress's shallow pocket while rummaging through her pouch for something. Gulping, I slowly slid my fingers towards the card, slipped it out, making her snap towards me- but the elevator suddenly binged, and everyone rushed in and out. So I was pushed forward.

Unfortunately, the card was just for some birthday party, and it was on the 65th floor. I have to reach the top suite on the 100th floor. I stood nervously watching the elevator from the ballroom. I need to get up there, but what's up there? I can't go directly to the 100th floor- I'm sure it's heavily guarded. I'd be walking towards death.

"Here goes nothing," I whispered, marching towards the elevator and was about to enter when Hoseok and a woman appeared in the elevator with a few bodyguards beside them. I immediately dodged the alpha and pretended to watch the city's view, so I didn't get to look at the girl. Hoseok's here? I peeked at the elevator again. It was heading down- which means he came from the upper floors. He must've gone to see Yoongi.

As soon as they left, I ensured all the guests were inside the birthday hall and waited until the elevator was empty. I stood composedly... examining the glassy buttons on the screen. The lights were reflecting on it, so I could vividly see the fingerprint stains on it. Most of the floor's buttons above the 74th floor were clean except for three buttons... the 81st floor, 93rd floor, and the 100th floor, the Mins. I can't go straight to the 100th, so I quickly pressed the 81st floor. I stood tapping my heels softly against the marble tiles with a restless feeling. If Yoongi's not here, then I took all the risk for nothing. But I can somehow feel his presence. Sora, what if he's not here...? What will you do then? He'll be-

I suddenly snapped out of my thoughts when the elevator announced the 81st-floor arrival, causing my heart to skip a beat. Without hesitation, I firmly stepped out of the elevator but froze in place as soon as I turned to face two guards standing by the elevator entrance. OH SHIT. I'm in deep shit! I was caught off guard, so I stood stiffly staring at them. I walked right into my own grave. Fuck me.

"Miss, you are not permitted-"

"-What do you mean?! Isn't it the floor?!" I giggled in a high-pitched voice while scanning the empty hallways. The guards froze and stared at me, so I bit my lips anxiously. They glanced at the card in my palm before averting their eyes back to mine. I gulped and positioned the sunglasses over my nose bridge to avoid their eyes. Sora, we need an alternative plan-

"If you're here for the event- you're on the wrong floor. I will escort you-"

"Wrong floor? What? Damn it. I thought the 81st floor was printed on the card. It's alright, don't even bother. I'm late for the party, so I better hurry," I huffed in a joking tone, then turned to look at the floor number in disbelief. I need to get out of here! Please don't be suspicious.

"5th shift is heading over. Depart the post in one minute," The guard's radio buzzed. Nervously, I got onto the elevator and pressed the 75th floor again. The elevator didn't shut right away, so I stood awkwardly, grinning at the guards before averting my eyes back to the buttons. They're changing shifts in one minute, which means the 93rd post will be empty... Sora... don't... do this... There's a high chance they won't-... Sora... SORA NO! Just before the elevator doors closed- I hastily slammed my fist against the button.

"Proceeding to the 93rd floor," The elevator announced.

The guard's eyes flew open in shock, but it was too late. The gap sealed itself as they flung themselves toward the elevator's door. I stumbled back against the wall in panic and breathed heavily when I felt my heart racing out of control. I'm screwed. They'll be chasing me now. Sora! You could've left in peace! Now how will you escape?!- I HAD TO! I CAN'T LEAVE THIS PLACE WITHOUT SEEING YOONGI! I NEED TO KNOW IF HE'S ALRIGHT. I began sweating as the numbers increased. I guess my life ends today.

88th... 89th... 90th... 91st... 92nd... 93rd.

I took a deep breath and quickly strode out of the elevator with my fists clenched tightly. If I get caught, then that's it. It's the end of me, so let it be- Oh? It's empty. The guards are gone. I turned left and quickly rushed through the hallways. All the doors are securely locked. Maybe he's not here? Sora... You messed up again! You can't keep messing up, or you'll die- SHUT UP. I AM ALREADY DYING EVERY DAY! I got to an intersection and was about to turn when the two guards from the 81st floor burst out from the fire exit route- They were panting heavily. It's them... they ran up the stairs to chase me!

"AISH!" I cursed and ran back towards the elevators. I slammed my fist on all the buttons, but all the elevators were unavailable. Heavy footsteps were approaching me from the other corridor, and the elevator was still on the 75th floor. It's too late. I grabbed my heels, yanked it off my foot, and ran towards the west hallway instead- attempting to open the doors to each suite, but it was all locked.

"Ah! I'm sorry!" I quickly apologized when I bumped into a guy dressed in black sweat pants and a hoodie, but I was so scared I rushed away without looking. He's not a guard. Maybe just a staff. Fuck! I'm really dead! I stumbled into another hallway and rushed towards the west side's fire exit door. THUD. I hastily burst through doors and ran halfway down the cold marble stones when I caught two guards walking up the stairs below. WHAT THE FUCK.

"Who's there? This is post 7th. Report your presence," The guard stated, glancing at the gap between the stairs, so I leaned back against the wall with sweat beads on my forehead. I held onto my mouth to stop myself from making any noises and thought I was safe when THUD THUD THUD- their footsteps suddenly raced up the stairs. My eyes flew wide open in fright, so I sprinted up the stairs- but footsteps were also echoing from the floor above. I CAN'T USE THE FIRE EXIT PASSAGE! I'M SURROUNDED!

"Eotteoke?!" I whimpered. I shoved open the exit door, then dashed right back into the hallways. I was so startled, I couldn't focus on anything- so I ran back towards the elevator. It's my only opportunity. It's been 20 years, and today- I've finally acknowledged my stupidity. I ignored everyone's warnings and walked right into the slaughterhouse- expecting to return in one piece. I was about to round the corner leading to the elevators while smacking my head in regrets when-

"We've got an intruder on the 93rd floor- requesting backups. Search the security cameras for the intruder," A cold voice echoed from the corner. I was way too close to the guards- I had to forcefully fling myself backward to maintain the distance behind the wall.

"She won't get far. All passageways three levels above and under this floor are secured," Another guard chuckles. Thud thud thud . The heavy footsteps hurriedly approached me from both the corridors. This is it. I'm trapped.

Sora, at least put up a fight- don't give up now.

Funny... How can I tackle a pair of 6-foot tall strongly-built men equipped with weapons???

I rubbed my forehead while groaning at myself, then turned to glare intensely at the corner to my left. Okay, here goes my I am about to get blasted in the head plan- The ultimate plan which will likely fail- but I'm going to do it anyways because I am that brainless! I'm gonna rush past them... and fight through. I'm gonna get caught, I know... but fuck it.

My entire body was trembling in fear as I prepared myself for the expected encounter with the guards. I think I can hear my heart pounding in my head. I'm scared... thud thud thud ... the guards are probably only 5 feet away from where I was standing...

"AH-" I was ready to burst through the corner when someone covered their hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming. My eyes grew wide open in panic when I felt another arm encircling my waist, and before I could react to the situation- The person tugged me back from the corner. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't. The person hastily dragged me away from the corridor just as I got a quick glimpse of the two guards- appearing at the corner just before I was hauled into a room. The pearly wooden door slammed shut before my terrified eyes. I was so scared- I couldn't hear anything but the noiseless ringing in my ears.

"LET ME GO-"

"SHHHHH!" The person warned, slamming me hard against the door as I wildly thrashed around in fear. My eyes bulged open in shock when my eyes landed on the familiar deep brown eyes. A rush of unexplainable emotions raced through my body as I stood paralyzed against the door.

Yoongi... Min Yoongi.

He stood over me with his body pressed against mine. One of his hands was still covering my mouth as he pinned me against the door. He was leaning so close- I could feel the rapid pulsation of his chest against mine. He sternly glared at my bewildered expression as I unblinkingly gawked at him. Utterly shaken by his sudden appearance.

I couldn't believe it. He was right in front of me.

He's alive.

It has been quiet for the past 18 years, however, on this particular rainy night, flashes of car lights beamed at the entrance of the alley. Splashes of footsteps hurried down the alley, accompanied by frequent clappings of thunders. The dark figures quickly disappeared into the old villa, one after another.

Although it seems like a normal run-down villa- it had huge stairs leading into a brightly lit spacious basement filled with rows after rows or chairs and couches.

They leech off the innocents until we're drained and then we're nothing but a disposable subject to them. They aren't humans, they're devils from hell. They use luxury as a mask to hide their savage natures. Hence, his son will be our reminder of Jihyun's unjustified death and he is here today, sitting proudly amongst us," The Ajusshi proudly smiled at his nephew, who was sitting in front of him. Booms of clappings thundered inside the basement.

What a mess huh?" The ajusshi continued. His nephew, however, sat nervously staring at the screen on the wall. He's finally ready to face the murderers of his parents, swearing to destroy every single breathing alphas.

"I'll introduce you to the top five ranks. In the 5th rank, housing over 40 alphas, stands three famous alphas. The Lee household, Lee Jongmin, Yeong Eunsu, and their daughter, Lee Mira. This household runs all the dirty work such as mafias and gangsters," Pictures of the Lee's family popped up onto the screen.

Namjoon is allied with Kim Seokjin, meanwhile, Hoseok and Minho recently allied with Min Yoongi the 2nd rank alpha due to unknown reasons," The nephew blinked rapidly at Jimin's image. His face looks familiar... but where...?

"The third rank is the Jeons, the heir is Jeon Jungkook-" everything went blank inside the guy's head as he sat staring at the familiar face. It is him... I was right he thought. The guy was baffled but looking back at the cars he saw and the way Jungkook dresses, it made sense. So, Sora's working for an alpha? That's why she's so depressed and upset. Guilt fills the guy's chest as he sat worrying about the innocent girl, trapped in the society. He should warn her.

"The 2nd rank is the Min, Min Yoongi. He was one of the anonymous alphas to reveal his identity after being attacked by Lee Mira. The Mins have been playing dirty, brewing up conflicts between households. However, the Mins didn't leave their mansion for almost a month now due to an unknown reason.

She's been lying to him all along... he thought he was just assuming things but here he is... staring at her right at her.

"D-do you happen to know her?" Ajjushi asked as he stared at his nephew with his eyes wide open. The guy snapped back to reality- only to find the crowd of people staring intensely at him. He began sweating nervously. He needed more time to process all of the information.

"N-no I don't know her. I just happened to read aloud her unique name," The guy gulped while shaking his head, he was devastated.

Jang Sora is the crowned supreme alpha owning over 30% of the nation's assets, economically, politically, and socially.

Sora's POV

After school, we all headed home, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook had to go through important files for their family's conferences so I slipped away since I was up to no good anyways. Appa and Eomma tried talking to me but I refused to see them because there's no way I'll fall for their vicious intentions again. Considering everyone was occupied, I got bored and sneaked out of the mansion on my own. The guys won't finish their work until late at night, so I had plenty of time to explore the city.

I knew it was risky but I did it anyways. I needed to know the truth and most importantly I was worried- so I had to see him. Rumors circulated the society, claiming Yoongi is dead and so's his father and it bothers me even if I knew it wasn't true. I've waited long enough. At this point, I don't even know if he's dead or alive. I stood observing the looming elite hotel, glimmering on the corner of the busy streets. It's true, the Mins had patrols three streets away and there was tight security in and out of the hotel too. Is he even inside? Sighing, I turned around and walked off. I walked aimlessly down the streets and entered a fancy-looking flower shop. The staff was rushing around hurriedly so I quietly gazed at the colorful flowers.

We need to deliver it to the hotel as soon as possible, start loading!" An elderly-looking woman snapped at the huddle of staff gossiping in the corner. I quickly glanced at the white mini carrier vans parked outside the store and sure enough, it had the Min's crescent moon logo plastered on it. They're delivering to the hotel...

"Good afternoon miss. How can I assist you?" A staff cheerfully asked, approaching me with a beaming smile.

"Oh, I'm-"

"Min Young-ah we need some help!" One male staff requested from the back of the store. It must be the staff's name. She darted me an apologetic look when her boss kept on calling for her.

"I'm a little bit busy-"

"It's fine. I still haven't decided yet," I smiled, cutting off the staff, so she apologized and hurriedly rushed away to help her coworkers.

"Min Young! I need you here!" Someone demanded the young female staff again as she was halfway out of the store with a heavy box loaded in her arms.

"I'm-"

"MIN YOUNG WHERE ARE YOU?!" Someone bellowed from inside the store.

"But I'm-"

"Let me help you," I quickly rushed over to help Min Young with the boxes.

"Oh no no! I don't want to burden you-"

"It's alright a few boxes won't hurt. They seem to need you," I insisted with a bright smile.

"I'm really sorry. Our shop's contract with the hotel is in a critical state so everyone's a little nervous. But thank you!" Min Young bit her lips as she stared at the crescent moon logo before jogging off. Smirking, I made my way towards the parked vans.

"The second van is ready to go, come on!" The driver beckoned, grabbing the boxes out of my arms, then shoved them into the van.

"Ah, where is she?! We need to deliver-"

"She's busy right now. I'm assigned to accompany you," I smiled at the driver, so he leaned forward with a hesitant gaze. His misty brown eyes were staring right into mine.

"Put on the pin noobie," The ajusshi grunts handing me a name tag. Joo Min Young. I carefully placed it on my shirt, then turned to grin at him. I made up all sorts of stories to entertain the ajusshi on our way to the hotel and he completely fell for it. I got a little nervous when we arrived at the back storage entrance of the hotel. At least ten guards were patrolling the area, so I sucked in my breath... clenching my fists tightly in fear.

"The first day is always scary," Ajusshi chuckles, coming to a halt right at the entrance. A guard signaled Ajusshi to roll down his window so he did. Sora...

"Hey- stop there," A female guard called, walking up to us so we stopped and turned to her.

She read his name tag, scanned his face, double-checked her list before permitting him inside the hotel.

"Jeong Minji?" The female guard called again. I can't make it inside at this point. There's no way I can pass this. Quietly, I started backing away from the crowd- I need to get out of here-

"Joo Minyoung...? Joo Minyoung?" The female staff called but I stayed silent so she repeated her call. I was about to dash away when I accidentally bumped into a girl causing us to drop the boxes, so I quickly bent down to pick up everything. Aish, I am really digging my own grave right now. What am I doing?!

"I'm sorry," I whispered, fear loomed over me as I hastily helped the girl.

"What's going on-? Why are you so careless?! Oh- You're Joo Min Young," The guard began pushing her ways towards us before stopping abruptly when she noticed my name tag. I stood staring at her with my eyes wide open.

"N-neh.." I stuttered while staring at my hands as she suspiciously observed me. I started panicking, so I quickly scanned the place to search for an escape route but there was none. The guard flicked through her checklist again to search for my information. Andwae... I have to leave-

"Post 9. They need you on the 8th floor for security checks, please hurry," A guard suddenly marched through the corridor. The female guard swiftly turned around, nodded, then pushed the checklist into the other guard, and left us.

Seizing the opportunity, I quickly walked past him while holding onto my breath. There was a sign on the wall- laundry - left, stationary - forward, and kitchen - right. I turned to check for people but the hallway was empty so I quickened my pace and turned left. A few maids suddenly burst out of the laundry room, so I kept my head low as I passed them. As soon as I got inside- I quickly slid the box into a corner and dodged a group of staff ironing suits and dresses.

I crawled across the floor towards the exit door when someone walked over, so I pushed myself under a cabinet filled with towels. I can't wander around the hotel dressed like a homeless person! I quickly reached for a dress dangling over the cabinet and immediately changed into it. The way to the exit was clear again, so I swiftly crawled towards it- grabbing a pair of heels stacked securely on a wooden cabinet. I lightly push the door open, so the staff won't notice, and before they even knew it- I raced out into the hotel's hallway.

I strode towards the elevator in confidence, and that's when I notice people were holding onto these small white cards and they were formally dressed up- which means they're attending an important event...? I took a closer look and it was an invitation card. I need that, Yoongi could be there. A middle-aged woman carelessly slips her card into her dress's shallow pocket while she rummages through her pouch for something. Gulping, I slowly slid my fingers towards the card and slip it out, making her snap towards me- but the elevator suddenly binged and everyone rushed in and out- so I was pushed forward.

Unfortunately, the card was just for some birthday party and it was on the 65th floor. I have to reach the top suite which is on the 100th floor. I stood nervously watching the elevator from the ballroom. I need to get up there, but what's up there? I can't go directly to the 100th floor- I'm sure it's heavily guarded. I'd be walking towards death.

"Here goes nothing," I whispered, marching towards the elevator and was about to enter when Hoseok, and a girl, appeared in the elevator with a few bodyguards beside them. I immediately dodged the alpha and pretended to watch the city's view, so I didn't get to look at the girl. Hoseok's here? I peeked at the elevator again and it was heading down- which means he came from the upper floors. He must've gone to see Yoongi.

As soon as they left, I ensured all the guests were inside the birthday hall and waited until the elevator was empty. I stood composedly... examining the glassy buttons on the screen. The lights were reflecting on it so I can vividly see the fingerprint stains on it. Most of the floor's buttons above the 74th floor were clean except for three buttons... the 81st floor, 93rd floor, and the 100th floor, the Mins. I can't go straight to the 100th so I quickly pressed the 81st floor. I stood tapping my heels softly against the marble tiles with a restless feeling. If Yoongi's not here then I took all the risk for nothing. But I can somehow feel his presence. Sora, what if he's not here...? What will you do then? He'll be-

I suddenly snapped out of my thoughts when the elevator announced the 81st-floor arrival, causing my heart to skip a beat. Without hesitation, I firmly stepped out of the elevator but quickly froze as soon as I turned to face two guards standing by the elevator entrance.

Sora we need an alternative plan-

"If you're here for the event- you're on the wrong floor. I will escort you-"

"Wrong floor? What? Damn it. I thought the 81st-floor was printed on the card. It's alright, don't even bother. I'm late for the party, so I better hurry," I huffed in a joking tone, then turned to look at the floor number in disbelief. I need to get out of here! Please don't be suspicious.

"5th shift is heading over, depart the post in one minute," The guard's radio buzzed. Nervously, I got onto the elevator and pressed the 75th floor again. The elevator didn't shut right away, so I stood awkwardly grinning at the guards before averting my eyes back to the buttons. They're changing shifts in one minute which means the 93rd post will be empty... Sora... don't... do this... there's a high chance they won't-... Sora... SORA NO! Just before the elevator doors closed- I hastily slammed my fist against the button.

"Proceeding to the 93rd floor," The elevator announced.

The guard's eye flew open in shock but it was too late.

It's the end of me so let it be- oh? It's empty. The guards are gone. I turned left and quickly rushed through the hallways. All the doors are securely locked. Maybe he's not here? Sora... you messed up again! You can't keep messing up or you'll die- SHUT UP.

I slammed my fist on all the buttons but all the elevators were unavailable. Heavy footsteps were approaching me from the other corridor and the elevator is still on the 75th floor. It's too late. I grabbed my heels, yanked it off my foot, and ran towards the west hallway instead- attempting to open the doors to each suite but it was all locked.

"Ah! I'm sorry!" I quickly apologized when I bumped into a guy dressed in black sweat pants and a hoodie but I was so scared I rushed away without looking.

Report your presence," The guard stated, glancing at the gap between the stairs, so I leaned back against the wall with sweats beading on my forehead.

"Eotteokke?!" I whimpered. I shoved open the exit door, then dashed right back into the hallways. I was so startled- I couldn't focus on anything- so I ran back towards the elevator. It's my only opportunity. It's been 20 years and today- I've finally acknowledged my stupidity.

Thud thud thud. The heavy footsteps hurriedly approached me from both the corridors. This is it, I'm trapped.

Sora, at least put up a fight- don't give up now.

Funny... how can I tackle a pair of 6-foot tall strongly build men equipped with weapons???

I rubbed my forehead while groaning at myself, then turned to glare intensely at the corner to my left. Okay, here goes my I am about to get blasted in the head plan- the ultimate plan which will likely fail but I'm going to do it anyways because I am that brainless! I'm gonna rush past them... and fight through. I'm gonna get caught, I know... but fuck it.

My entire body was trembling in fear as I prepared myself for the expected encounter with the guards. I think I can hear my heart pounding in my head. I'm scared... thud thud thud... the guards are probably only 5 feet away from where I was standing...

"AH-" I was ready to burst through the corner when someone covered their hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming. My eyes grew wide open in panic when felt another arm encircling around my waist and before I could react to the situation- the person tugged me back from the corner. I wanted to scream but I couldn't.

A rush of unexplainable emotions raced through my entire body as I stood paralyzed against the door.

Yoongi... Min Yoongi.

He stood over me with his body pressed against mine. One of his hands was still covering my mouth as he pinned me against the door. He was leaning so close- I could feel the rapid pulsation of his chest against mine. He sternly glared at my bewildered expression as I unblinking gawked at him. Utterly shaken by his sudden appearance.

I couldn't believe it. He was right in front of me.

He's alive.
