Bon's POV

It was all happening faster than I could process. One minute, she was fine, and the next there were tears running down her face as she asked if we could hear someone laughing. There was no one laughing. The only sound was feet on the cold stone floor of the Vatican and of (Y/N)'s panicked voice. Before I knew what was happening, she was screaming bloody murder, her scream causing a jolt of electricty to race up my spine. And then she was falling. And then she was seizing.

It was like finding her bleeding out all over again. I froze. Everything seemed to move in slow motion as she convulsed on the floor, her limbs smacking the hard floor below her, her chest arching as she shook. I could only look on as Angel shoved his hands under my girlfriend's head, protecting her head from any sort of blunt force trauma she could possibly endure. I watched in shock and fear as Lightning wrestled the girl into the recovery position, her body still spasming, white foam coming from her mouth.

All of a sudden, everything was speeding up, and I was finally back in the moment. It almost made me sick, and I had to resist the urge to vomit. The sound of her choking and her arms and legs smacking the cold floor caused my stomach to churn painfully.

"Someone get a medic!" Angel ordered, making sure to keep his hands under (Y/N)'s head to act as a cushion. Before anyone had a chance to respond, (Y/N)'s back was suddenly arching, and another blood curdling scream ripped from her throat. I couldn't help but cover my ears in response. It was the worst thing I had ever heard. My stomach churned again at the sound.

Her eyes were suddenly flying open, but when they opened, I was not met with her beautiful (E/C) orbs that I had come to love. Instead, I found them to be blood red. I recognized them as Kaage's eyes. I could feel all color drain from my face in realization. She was being possessed. And she was being possessed by a demon that we knew nothing about. No one knew what his power could do to her. Trying to withhold even a small portion of Kitiara's power had proved too much for the girl, almost over taking her at the first attempt. This could be the end, and there was nothing I could without hurting my girlfriend.

I watched in horror as her foaming mouth opened, a laugh not her own coming from her mouth. His laugh wasn't sweet and full of joy, it was evil and full of malice. "Well!" the voice shouted. Her mouth wasn't even moving in time with the words. She was just a vessel now, a speaker for Kaage to put to use. "I truly didn't think it would have to come to this. WHat do you think? Did it really have to come to this? If we hadn't been interrupted, we could already be done with this whole thing," the gravelly voice said. "It would all be over!" Kaage declared. "My master would hold supreme power, and this girl would already be dead!" The voice erupted back into a sick laughter.

By this time, we had drawn quite a crowd. There was a whole medical unit gathered as well as a few other high level exorcists. I winced as the voice returned. "I'm not using my full power, so the girl will live, only to die by my physical hand," he warned, his voice turning as dark as ever. "I want to see (Y/N) on the roof of True Cross Academy at sun down. I want to see (Y/N) and only (Y/N). She will have no assistance. This is between the Ishida and Matsuda families. If anyone is to interfere," his voice trailed off.

Suddenly, there was a sound of violent choking. I spun around to mind one of the medical technicians grabbing at his chest. HIs eyes rolled back into his head before he fell to the floor. A doctor declared no pulse. "Let this be a lesson to you all," the voice said before (Y/N)'s body finally relaxed, the red in her eyes being replaced with that familiar (E/C). Her chest was heaving for precious air. I dropped to my knees beside her, my hands hovering over top of her, not sure what to do, afraid to hurt her.

"What happened?" she asked, her words slurring together as her hazy eyes looked up at me. I finally settled on brushing her hair back from her face, using the soft strands to ground myself. Finally, I found it in myself to speak.

"You had another seizure, babe," I explained softly, trying to keep my voice steady. If I freaked out, then she was going to freak out, and I didn't think her body could take any more excitement. I swallowed hard as I realized we didn't have a choice. She was going to have to fight tonight at sundown. And there was nothing I could do to help her. I was going to have to sit on the sidelines and watch her fight for her life. And there was nothing I could do.

"Another?" she asked, tearing me from my thoughts. "Why? What happened this time?" she asked, trying to sit up. My hands flew to support her in a sitting position. I grimaced and used a thumb to wipe the foam from the corners of her mouth. "Was it worse?" she asked, her voice soft and disbelieving.

"Yes; it was worse this time," I confirmed. "Kaage used you as a vessel; he possessed you," I told her. She remained quiet for a few seconds.

"H-how am I not dead?" she asked, her voice small and fearful.

"He only used a small portion of his power," I explained. "He used just enough power to channel his voice through you. He expects you on the roof of the academy at sundown. And I can't help you. It's between you and him," I said. She frowned at me, looking around at the crowd gathered around her. Her face went even more pale as her eyes met the sheet the medics had used to cover the body. Her jaw dropped open in shock, a hand coming to cover her mouth.

"Oh my God," she whispered, horrified.

"It was a warning," I muttered. "I can't help you tonight." She seemed to get what I was hinting at, and she nodded, her eyes still wide. "But, I can help you prepare," I told her. "I'm not going to let you go in there without support," I reminded her. She nodded.

"I need to call my father," she said, moving to stand up. I helped her to unsteady feet, looking to Angel. There was a grim look on his face.

"We have around four hours until sundown," he said, his voice hard. "I'll get someone to take a look over her in a private room as you call her family."

"I'll need to meet with Katsuro and Kitiara," (Y/N) said from beside me, my arm wrapped around her waist to support her, her legs still shaking slightly. "And I need to speak to Shura," she requested, looking up at the Palidain. "And Mephisto," she added after a moment of hesitation.

"We can do that, Miss (L/N)," he assured the girl beside me before turning to look at Lightning. "Take Miss (L/N) and Mr. Suguro to a private room, and have a doctor look over her," he demanded of his right hand. Lightning only nodded, gesturing for us to follow him. With my arm still wrapped around (Y/N)'s waist, we followed Lightning down a few hallways to a back room; Lightning assured us that we would not be bothered here. He told us he would be back with a doctor before leaving the room without another word.

I watched as (Y/N) took the ring's of her fingers, and in a split second the two twin demons were standing in front of us. "It's tonight; we don't have any more time," she said, cutting right to the chase.

"I figured," Katsuro said as he began to pace. Kitiara came up to me, placing her hands on my girlfriend's shoulders.

"We can handle this. All of you training has prepared you for this moment; you just need to be confident in yourself," the female demon said, her voice confident and strong.

"I need to call my dad and brother," she muttered before pulling her phone out, calling her father, and putting it on speaker.

"Hello?" a deep voice said from the other end of the line. As soon as Cole's voice sounded, (Y/N) erupted into sobs. I pulled my girlfriend to my chest as I started to speak to Cole, trying to explain what was happening over (Y/N)'s sobs. I took the phone off speaker, pressing the device to my ear as I explained the situation.

When I finished speaking, he was silent for a moment before he said, "I'll be there as soon as possible. Take care of my baby girl, Suguro."

"Yes, sir," I said, my voice hard and full of promise. With that, the red-haired man hung up, leaving me with my still sobbing girlfriend and the two demons. In the time it took (Y/N) to settle down, the doctor had come in to take a look at my girlfriend, deeming her shook up but fine. He left, but as soon as he did, Shura, Mephisto, Angel, and Lightning entered the room.

Shura was the first one to approach (Y/N), taking the girl by the shoulder and whispering quiet, encouraging words to her, telling her we were going to get through this together. She even managed to make the girl laugh. I couldn't help but smile at that. Mephisto was next, telling her that they were going to get her equipped with enough weapons to supply a small army and a nice set of armor.

"Come on, kiddo," Shura said as she stood, offering a hand to her student. "If you're going to fight, we'll at least make you as hot as hell while you do it," she said with a suggestive smirk. I was left in the conference room with Katsuro as Angel and Lightning claimed they also had a few things to prepare; Mephisto, Shura, and Kitiara had gone with (Y/N).

"She's strong," Katsuro said from the other end of the table. "Even distracted and probably on the brink of a panic attack, Kitiara and I still remain," he said, gesturing to himself, a smirk on his face. "She'll be fine, and we'll be there for her the entire time," he promised. I nodded, looking down at my lap. "Suguro, I know you think we're not fit to protect her, and you're mad that you can't be there for her, but this is her battle fight, a battle lasting generations. She needs to do this on her own. What you need to do is support her in this decision; this is the only way this can happen. After this, everything is over," he reminded me.

"But it may finish without her," I muttered under my breath. I saw the demon nod from the corner of my eyes.

"Yes," he agreed, as blunt as ever, "but she'll be saving countless lives. She is a true hero, Suguro, one none of us deserve." I nodded, feeling tears pooling in my eyes. "She can handle it. She's strong. And Kitiara and I are going to be there with her the entire time. It is our duty to protect her until our last breath," he reminded me. I nodded again but couldn't bring myself to speak, afraid of what noise may come out of my mouth.

I was torn from my thoughts when there was a knock of the door, and it swung open to reveal a disheveled Cole, followed by his son and wife. I stood up to meet the man and his family. He immediately pulled me into a hug, patting me on the back. When he pulled away, I could see tears in his eyes. Looking behind him, I found that Tobias' and Mio's eyes were also red and watery.

"I was told she was getting ready," the man before me said, running a hand over his face. I nodded in confirmation.

"Enough to supply a small army," I said, repeating Mephisto's earlier words. This caused Cole to smirk.

Once again, the door was opening, revealing (Y/N) decked out in light armor. She was dressed in black pants and matching combat boots. She was wearing a silver chest plate to protect her from any potential blows aimed at her lungs or heart. The chestplate also covered her shoulders and back, a black t-shirt underneath. She wore black, fingerless gloves to give her more grip on her swords as well as to try and protect her hands. There were silver shin guards covering her legs, beginning just above her boots and stopping just below her knees. She had four holsters, two around her thighs and two around her waist. Even all decked out in military grade armor, she looked as scared as ever.

"Dad," she breathed, flinging her arms around her father's neck. He squeezed her tightly in response. When she leaned back, Cole took his daughter's face in his hands, peppering kisses all over her face. "I'm scared," I heard her murmur.

"I know, sweetheart," he muttered back. "I am too, kiddo, but we're all going to be waiting for you at the end of the tunnel," he promised. Mio was sobbing now as she wrapped her arms around her surrogate daughter. Lastly, Tobias gave his little sister a strong hug. No words were shared, but from knowing them both for a while now, I knew they could have conversations with just their eyes. Then, she turned to me, allowing me to wrap her arms around her tightly.

"I'll be waiting for you on the other side," I promised as she pressed her face into the crook of my neck. "We still have that wedding to plan," I whispered to her. "Don't let me do it myself; you know everything will be a mess if you let me do it by myself." This caused her to laugh heartily before she pulled back, only to pull me into a hard kiss.

When she finally released me, we both looked to Mephisto and Angel who were now standing by the door. "Are you ready, dear?" Mephisto asked. (Y/N) took a deep breath and stood up straighter.

"Ready as I'll ever be," she said through a breath.

"Okay. Let's do this. It's almost over."

OMG IM NOT READY FOR IT TO BE OVER
