Yuki's POV
It's been two days ever since Endeavor's fight with that Nomu on Fukuoka.. today Shoto and I are going to his home to have lunch with Fuyumi and Natsuo, since Endeavor did a great job defeating a strong Nomu back in Fukuoka. While all I did is watch it live on tv.
Since Uncle Aizawa gave us permission to leave UA, while I was assigned to escort Shoto back to his house, at the same time I was invited.
Here I am wearing civillian, red double breast pea coat that looks elegant on me, plain white jeans, a peach scarf and brown knee length boots.
I quickly fixed my hair up on half-up and half-down bunned. As I look on the mirror.
Looks okay to me...
I feel so nervous.
Then I grab my hand bag as I close the door behind me. Then I head down the common space. I look up I saw Shoto is waiting for me...
"are you ready?" Shoto ask
I nod "hm, yep everythings ready" I answer
After that we head out as we walk outside then we head to station minutes later we exited the station as we the streets of Shizuoka prefecture.
I feel nervous...
"Yuki, is something wrong?" Shoto ask
"ah, nothing... it's just... it's been a while since I last seen Fuyumi and Natsu" I said "it's been like 7 years ever since I last talk or seen them."
Then I felt Shoto pulled my bun hair down.
"Shoto?!"
"you look beautiful if your hair is down" Shoto said
I blushed a little
Later on we're at the doorsteps of Shoto's house as we slid the door open, as we took our shoes off.
"ah?! Yuki! You're finally here!" Fuyumi became surprised
"hi Fuyumi. It's been a while" I said
Then Fuyumi hold both of my hands then zoomed in. "gosh, you look so pretty. I remember the days when you and Shoto we're little, now the two of you grow up so fast!" Fuyumi said
I sweatdrop "ehe, yeah. Pretty much" I barely said
After that we head to the dining room.
"he~?! Yuki?!" I saw Natsuo became surprised
"hi Natsu" I greeted
"I almost didn't recognized you, since your hair is down" Natsuo said
"yeah, since Shoto told me to let my hair down" I said
Then Natsuo turn to Shoto "hey little bro, it's been a while" he said
"me too" Shoto barely said.
After that I helped Fuyumi make some soba for todays lunch, while Natsuo and Shoto is a having a boy talk between brothers.
"is Shoto is being a good student these days?" Fuyumi ask
"yeah, I mostly help him in his studies and sometimes training" I answer
"are you always afraid of Shoto sometimes?" Fuyumi ask
I became surprised "what do you mean?" I ask
"well, since you became a hero... do you somehow think Shoto is getting a hard time without you" Fuyumi pointed
I realized that it's been a month ever since I became a famous hero, and I can hardly get on class even I wanted to and coming home late. Sometimes I always see Shoto is always asleep on the sofa just to wait for me to return, I just think...
That I sometimes I have hard time for my boyfriend...
Maybe... I should... think things over...
Then I felt Fuyumi pat my shoulder "but hey! I'm glad that Shoto found someone that can make him happy" she said "even though you're always busy and home late, he's still supporting you"
"yeah" I barely said "I'm happy when he's happy" I smiled 'as long as I'm seeing him smile' then I look back I can see Shoto is talking with Natsuo.
Shoto's POV
"so how are things with Yuki?" Natsu ask
"... she's doing great" I answer "and she's doing great with her job as a hero"
"well I can see that" Natsu said "despite being a young hero, she's just like All Might every time she gets in the seen."
"I barely watch her on TV, and I sometimes I can see kids holding her action figures and people wearing her T-shirts and holding her merchandise."
"she's been famous around japan these days"
"yeah" I barely said "back on the culture festival, I recorded the song Yuki singed and it went well and a lots of student became a fan of hers."
"really?! Man, she's famous and strong all right" Natsu said
"sobas ready!"
I heard Fuyumi spoke. After that we have lunch as we catch things up.
"so Yuki? How are things with you and Shoto?" Natsu asked Yuki
Then Yuki put down the bowl of soba "well, Shoto here is doing great" she answer
"no I meant... R-E-L-A-T-I-O-N-S-H-I-P..." Natsu pointed
"eh?! Well! We...!" Yuki became flustered
I can see she's panicking
I did remember back then two days ago when Yuki comforted me under her chest...
"looks like you did something crazy here little bro" Natsuo teased
I flinhced "I didn't do anything!" I said
"Shoto Todoroki, you're my younger brother did you do something crazy!" Fuyumi said
"I told I didn't!" I answer
"yeah, we didn't!" Yuki defended
I can see Natsuo and Fuyumi are getting curious "... I see..." they both said
Yuki"s POV
It's best for them not to know what we did two days ago.
After Natsuo and Fuyumi's suspiscion on us we suddenly we heard the door slid open from the door, then as we heard footsteps coming from the hall.
'he must be home' I thought
Then the door slid open, showing Endeavor with a scar on his face.
"nice work out there. You must be tired" Fuyumi said to Endeavor
"... long time no see" Endeavor said
"it's good to see you're okay, sir" I greeted
But Endeavor only answer a silent
"Shoto even went out of his way to get permission to leave school grounds, you know!" Fuyumi said "and he even invited Yuki with us." then she smiled "well anyway, I'll just say congrats on a job well done... and leave it at that!"
Then I can see and hear Shoto is slurping his soba.
"...SLURP..."
I sweatdrop on Shoto's face right now while slurping his soba
"that's... a nasty scar you've got there" Shoto compliment then he kept slurping
Then Natsuo did same slurping his Soba.
And it's getting pretty awkward...
I sighed "Shoto didn't we just talk about this" I whisper
"Dad's finally trying to reflect on the past and show more concern for his family, you know?!" Fuyumi whispered "just because you hate him doesn't mean you should leave it written all over your face like that!"
"I can hear you" Endeavor said
Then Natsuo and Shoto finished slurping.
Then Natsuo sighs then he stood up "... sorry sis. I can't do this" he said
"Natsuuuuu~!" Fuyumi called
Then Natsuo walks toward the door passing his father, but he was stopped from his tracks when Endeavor put his hand on his shoulder.
"Natsuo. If you have something to say, then go ahead and say it" Endeavor said to Natsuo
Then Natsuo turns "say it...?" he repeated in a angry tone "that's rich, coming from the guy who wouldn't even look me in the eye for all these years. You've got some nerve, you know that?"
"it's funny, I had no idea soba was Shoto's favorite food until today. You took special care to never let us "failures" into his life after all, along with Yuki you cutted his connection when they were young."
"Natsu..." Shoto mumbles
Of course... Shoto had different world than mine and his siblings. When we were separated Shoto's time was spend all the years of training to surpass my power. While I did everything to become an early pro...
"for whatever reason, Yuki, Mom and Sis they seem to have no problem with forgiving you" Natsuo continues "but as far as I'm concerned, that crazy bastard we knew all to well is still going strong!"
"they are acting like you've changed, but you haven't changed a bit!"
Then Natsuo clench his fist "you completely neglected us, and left us to listen to Mom screaming and Shoto crying."
"not to mention what happened with big bro Toya... you going off and beating some strong villain doesn't make all that just disappear, dammit!"
Then Natsuo hit the sliding door "AND HERE YOU ARE, DECIDING NOW'S THE TIME TO HAVE A CHANGE OF HEART! YOU JUST ONE-SIDELY TRY AND COME BACK INTO OUR LIVES?!"
"IT MAKES ME SICK! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW ANY OF US FEEL?!"
"from now on, I'm going to face the past and atone for everything I've done" Endeavor said
"OH, IS THAT SO?!" Natsuo shouted then he walks pass the door "I'm sorry, Sis! Thanks for the food! And it's nice seeing you Yuki!" then he left
"Natsuuu!" Fuyumi called then she cover her face with her hands then sighed "ahh, jeez..."
"I guess... things won't work out after all..." Fuyumi mumbles "after Shoto got accepted into U.A, and he was able to see Mom again, then he became a proper boyfriend to Yuki..."
"and then Dad approached us and started coming around and mom started to smile again..."
"I... I finally thought "we can become a proper family", and..." then Fuyumi shouldered on Shoto "your sister was really happy, you know~! Shoto~!"
"Sis..." Shoto mumbles while slurping his soba
"and now you have Yuki as your girlfriend and I was so happy that you found her special" Fuyumi said "I always thought that you two are the best for each other"
I sweatdrop 'we're not even married yet' I thought
"I've never seen Natsu get that emotional before" Shoto said
"yeah, me too" I said "I hope he's alright" I worried.
Then we heard the news channel is on
"it's been 2 days since the fierce battle and opinions of the No. 1 hero continue to waver."
Then we watched the people's opinion about Endeavor.
"well, it was a narrow victory, to say the least... is he going to be alright? He was covered in blood back there."
"yet again the league escape, didn't they?"
"haven't a bunch Nomus already been captured? If he has that much trouble against villains on that level, well..."
Looks like everyone is getting on the bad side about it.
"turn it off! Turn it off!" Fuyumi panics
"no" Shoto answered
Then he raise the volume of the tv
"as you can see, the voices of anxiety haven't changed a bit... on the other hand― ―"
"I was always an Edge Shot fan, but! How could I not become an Endeavor fan after that?!"
"I'm also a firetype, so I can't help but feel happy."
"but I think the best part was "can't you see!" That really took me surprise"
"a certain boy has become the talk of the town, earning himself the nickname "can't you see""
"his impassioned shouts moved many hearts and drew them to cheer on Endeavor."
"yeeeah, the battle was somethin else! I mean Endeavor goes without saying, but "can't ya see" and of course, Hawk's dedication were both huge! Everyone was like, in unison "let's cheer him on!" it was crazy!"
Oh yeah... the guy who said 'can't you see' he took all the people by surprise and he was famous saying can't you see. Now people calling him can't you see.
"he may faced with tough opposition, but everyone has realized that the age of Endeavor has arrived. The voice of supporting for him are steadily growing louder and louder."
And then Endeavor surpassed my popularity, but I don't mind about popularity, my only job is to become a proper hero and bring peace and joy.
"Endeavor the hero... he's..." Shoto mumbles "amazing. He's remarkable."
"Shoto..." I mumble 'despite on what Endeavor did to Shoto, I can see they're both changing. But...' I thought
'Shoto still hasn't forgive him. He's still not ready for Shoto's forgiveness.'
"but... pretty much everything Natsu said was right on the money I think" Shoto continues "I still haven't forgiven you... for how you tormented Mom."
"that's why... I want to see what kind of Dad you'll become, from here on out."
"one small inspiration really can completely change a person."
"I know that better than anyone."
I look at Shoto, I can see he's changing a bit.
"Shoto... I'll bring you some more soup" Fuyumi said "do you want some more Yuki?"
"sure, thank you" I said
Then I saw Endeavor is walking away.
"um, sir? You're leaving already? You just came" I said
"Dad! Now you're running off somewhere?!" Fuyumi exclaimed
"Fuyumi..." Endeavor called "I'm sorry for everything" he said "I chose the wrong words when I spoke to Natsuo just now." then he turn his head on me "and Yuki... I'm sorry for cutting your connection with Shoto." then he walks away.
Endeavor...
I already forgived him... but I'm worried about Shoto and Natsu. They still haven't forgived him. I know it's hard for them to forgive him despite on what Endeavor did.
Rei... she suffered so much from him.
"Yuki?"
I shot up "yes Shoto?"
"are you okay?" Shoto ask
"I'm fine" I said
After that I helped Fuyumi cleaned the dishes, while Shoto went to another room.
"sorry that you had to wash the dishes, Yuki" Fuyumi said
"it's okay, I'm used on daily chores" I saidthen I wash the bowls.
"I'm sorry that you had to see that, Yuki" Fuyumi apologize
"it's fine, I understand" I said "I know how you all feel. I'm mostly worried about Shoto and Natsu."
"I know you're worried, Yuki" Fuyumi said while drying the plates "me, Mom and you, we already forgived him. But the two of them will be hard..."
"on what Shoto experienced, on how Mom was tormented and what Natsu is feeling on losing Toya..."
Toya... I didn't knew him tha's because Shoto and his family didn't told me what happened, but Fuyumi always tell me that he's a nice person, a good brother to Shoto. But then he died inan incident back when shoto was a baby.
After that we finished cleaning the the dishes I stroll around to look for Shoto.
"where is he?" I mumble
Then I saw Toya's room is open, I walk toward it then I slid the door open seeing Shoto inside sitting. I slid the door close then walk toward him.
"Shoto?" I called
Then I can see Shoto is staring at Toya's picture frame.
Then Shoto look at me "Yuki?" then he averted his eyes "sorry, I didn't see you there."
"its okay" I said then I stood behind him. Then I saw Toya's photo.
'Toya...'
Flashback 9 years ago
"hey Shoto" I called "Fuyumi told me that you have an older brother"
"yeah..." Shoto mumbled
"where is he now?" I asked
"he died at an incident when I was a small baby" Shoto said "so I didn't met him, I just wish I knew him more.."
He really reminds of me back in the orphanage wondering who were my family was...
Then I think "well..."
"Fuyumi told me that he's nice, cool and he's very strong" I answer "he's great big brother" I added
"I just wish I could have met him" Shoto smiled at ,e
Flashback ended
"do you miss him?" I ask Shoto
Then Shoto took a silent answer.
"Shoto..." I called "I thought..."
"you would forgive him...?"
Then Shoto didn't look back instead he's still staring at Toya's picture "I..."
"I couldn't bring myself to forgive him, Yuki..."
I became sad "I know that you wouldn't... but" I look at him "but the least try..."
"I know you will become angry at me since I'm telling you to forgive him... but I can see he really is trying his best for you..."
"I just can't" Shoto answer "I couldn't forgive him on what he did to Mom..."
"you... you already forgive him... yet I don't... I couldn't forgive him..."
"Shoto..." I mumble
Then I approached Shoto's back then I kneel down then hug him from behind his back, earning Shoto a light gasped.
"Shoto..." I called
"hm?"
"are you..." I pause "are you angry at me because I told you to forgive him?"
"...." Shoto became silent for a few seconds "I'm not..."
"I'm not angry at you..."
"are you sure?" I ask
"I'm not. Why would I?" Shoto ask
"then why aren't you looking at me?" I ask
"......"
"..."
Then Shoto sighed "I just don't want you to get worried at me now" he said
'He's right' I thought 'I am worried about him...'
"sorry Shoto" I said "I just can't help... but to become worried sometimes..."
"I know... you're angry not because I told you to forgive him... but also you're starting to change a bit..."
"... what do you mean?" Shoto ask
"... ever since I saw your Dad is changing and you watched his fight back in Fukuoka" I pause "I can see through your eyes... are worried... like..."
"you're afraid..."
"afraid of losing him..."
"......"
I breath out "I know you won't forgive him... but just like I said, it is your choice forgive him..."
"but right now..." I felt my eyes soften "I'm worried about you, Shoto..."
"Yuki?!" Shoto called then he turns then hold me around his arms "what are you worried of?"
Then I felt Shoto's grasped getting tight.
"I'm just worried that you might end up just like him..." I said "I'm worried that you could turn just like him... I ... I..."
"I want you to stay true..."
"I want you to continue your dream of who you are"
"but I know that wouldn't happen, because you are still you..."
Suddenly I was pulled towards Shoto's chest as he hugged me tighter.
"?!"
"I won't!" Shoto answer "I won't turn just like him!"
"I'll stay true for myself and for you!" Shoto said "and I won't do the same thing he do. I won't hurt you...! And I won't leave you...!"
"I won't turn just like him! I promise...!"
I felt Shoto's touch, words and feelings are starting to calm me down. Then he carressed my cheeks... as he gave me a light kiss, then he pull out then our forehead touch each other.
"I promise I won't hurt you" Shoto said "and I won't be the cause of your fear."
I felt all my fear, all my worries were erased. I'm scared of losing him... even though he's not going to forgive him. I'll do anything to protect him...
"I love you... Yuki..."
I smiled "I love you too... Shoto..."
Toya... please watch over him from somewhere... I hope you guide your little brother towards his right path.
