(Colby's POV)
"Colby, no stop asking, you are god damn sixteen not an adult." She glares at me from behind the kitchen counter. Right as I'm about to speak she cuts me off.
"And, I will not allow Lora to go through the pain me and your dad did when you left. I will not go through that again, we just got you back and now you're trying to leave again?" Her eyes start watering probably thinking she's the reason I'm asking.
I walk over pulling her into a short hug.
"Mom, I'm not asking because I want to leave you guys again. I think me and Jake just want full control over what we do, I know technically we're still pretty young but come on, just trust me on this one we'll be okay," I try to reassure her.
"If you do, I need you to promise you will visit a lot and that I can visit you."
"Of course you can obviously it will be a house at the border. I would just ask if he could move in here but you know... We got this whole opposite element can die if we go on each others side thing going on," I laugh at how ridiculous it is that the main thing that can kill me is my best friend.
"Okay then... do you need someone to come with you? You guys don't really know how buying a house works," she lightly laughs even though you can clearly see in her eyes she's hurt.
"Eh I think we'll be good," I kiss her cheek and then turn around pulling on my shoes. "I'll be back soon, love you!" I quickly walk out the door before she can change her mind

"I want this one." Jake lightly touches the glass walls humming in content. I nod agreeing that this is it while I slowly walk though the open all white mansion.
"If you guys decide on this one all you need to do is sign this stuff and it's yours," the lady showing us the house says happily with a stack of papers set on the counter. The hell is that? This isn't earth why do we need to sign that junk. Can't we say we want it and call it a day?
"How about we don't do that and it's our house anyways?" Jake says walking over to her.
"Unfortunately we can't do that Mr.." she trails off not knowing his last name.
"Webber," he laughs eyes flashing red for a second so she knows who she's talking to. You know how earth has celebrities? Yeah well we have main elements, point is don't step out of line when it comes to any of us.
"Oh! Um... You know what yeah this paper work really isn't necessary, all I need is one signature and that all," she nervously smiles at him putting down a paper with a pen on it. Wow we love privilege, I cover my mouth trying not laugh at my own thought. They just stare at me weirdly, I shake my head and sign on the slot next to Jake's name watching as it glows blue for a second permanently locking my name in that place.
Her eyes widen again seeing my last name. "Don't worry I'm the nicer one," I laugh and hand her the paper and pen back. She smiles thankfully taking the stuff and placing it gently in her bag.
"Well then I will send your copies to your parents," she clears her throat at the thought of who they are before continuing.
"And we are done here, the place is yours." She smiles then just stands there awkwardly.
"Okay, thanks? That's everything right?" Jake lifts an eyebrow leaning against the counter.
"Oh yes! Sorry- I hope you guys enjoy," she gives a short wave turning on her high heels leaving through the front.
"That was a train wreck," Jake says looking to me.
"Wow... I didn't realize how much I missed not having to pay for junk," he laughs reminiscing. Things are different here, we don't use anything like money. It all has to do with your bloodline on what you can or can't buy, so your last name is pretty much your credit card. If your family is a low ranking the only thing you can do is marry a higher one or work your ass off to do something never heard of.
Me and Jake both freeze and look to each other hearing a knock on the door. Okay we moved in five minutes ago and someone already wants to bug us??? That's it we're moving to the middle of a forest.
I wince grabbing my arm and glare at Jake who just punched it. "Go get the door," he whispers and slowly sinks so he's hidden behind the counter. I roll my eyes walking over and fastly pull the door open.
"Hey! Sorry this is gonna sound nosy, but I live right across from here." I keep staring at the man that looks to be our age a big grin on his face waiting for him to continue with the actual point.
"Anywaysss, I've never seen you guys here so I'm guessing you're some of the elements that came back, meaning you might not know a lot of people. I just thought I'd introduce myself, name's Corey," he reaches his hand out, which I shake hesitantly.
"Colby, the one creeping behind the counter is Jake," I smile looking behind me to Jake who's peeking from under it only his red hair and eyes showing.
My eyes drift back to Corey who's laughing and waves at Jake. His palm catches my attention seeing the air element glowing carved into the skin. If you aren't the main bloodline your marking only glows while using your powers but if you are then it will nonstop glows. Wow it's gonna be easier to get these people then I thought.
"Hey why don't you come in? Our friend Mike is gonna drop by too, maybe we could all hang out and get something to eat?" I pull the door open a bit more my friendliness on full display.
He swiftly walks in as if his feet weren't even on the floor. A steady breeze also coming through like it follows him everywhere he goes.
"Wait Mike's coming over??" Jake asks confused slowly standing up.
"Eh he doesn't know he is necessarily but he is..." A loud laugh comes from next to me I look over seeing Corey leaning back hand over his mouth.
"Wait wait so you guys are having a bro's night and didn't even invite them?" Corey looks to me wide eyes smiling even bigger now.
"That's funny as hell, here," Corey hands me a note pad with a pen. Hm haven't used this spell in awhile. I quickly write down the address telling Mike who it is and then tear the page, crumbling it up I throw it in the air watching as it falls into nothing but some blue smoke.
You know how I mentioned phones don't work here? Yeah well we just do that and the paper will appear to the person you were thinking of. Kinda annoying having to carry paper around but whatever. I thank Corey handing in back to him.
"So let me guess main of water and fire, right?" Corey looks us both up and down with squinted eyes.
"How do you figure that?" Jake laughs finally walking over standing next to him.
"Well he stands like he's the most confident person ever which would make sense and you... well I don't know you that was just a guess." All our laughing is cut off when a loud bang is heard from the other room lots of curse words following the noise.
"Sorry I'm late bitches," Mike struts into the room rubbing his arm where there's a forming bruise.
"Why would you make a portal from the roof??"
"Jake what the hell are you talking about? You have done that more times then I can count," I smile at him with a raised eyebrow knowing he has absolutely no room to judge.
"Okay okay lets not start bickering you old married couple," Mike slaps both of the back of our heads appearing behind us.
"Now I don't know about you two but me and," he looks to Corey and then slings an arm over his shoulder.
"This guy are hungry as fuckkkk," he laughs.
"This is all true," Corey nods not even questioning it. I kinda feel bad, it feels like we're making a new friend group and it sucks that Xepher and Brennen can't be here to be apart of it.
"Well what are we waiting for then?? To the food!" Jake puts his arm on me and then we're all out the house on our way to shove our faces with some fattening food. I push the thought out my head just allowing myself to have fun knowing the closer I get to these people the closer I am to getting my best friends here.
