Basic options

Add the title:

Make sure the title is long enough (more than 1 word or 6 characters) because otherwise you won’t be able to save your work later on.

Categories:

Categories are important since it’s one of the things that make it able for other people to find your work.

Choose your categories carefully, that will keep it from being reported as “wrongly categorized” by one of the many Wattpad volunteers. It’s also always easier for readers when your work is categorized correctly.

Add tags:

Tags are another important facet when it comes to help other people find your work. Try to think of some keywords for this part.

Copyright:

Select the correct license option.

Rating:

Select the correct rating option.

Distribution:

This is where you can choose to either keep your story on Wattpad only, or make your story available outside Wattpad - Google Books for example.

There's no need to worry, because if you change your mind, you can always change these settings later on.

When you decide that your story can be shown outside Wattpad  - which is a great way to get more people to know about your work - it will be available on Google Books -and other future Wattpad partners - after a couple of weeks. This changes nothing about copyright, it's still yours!

Important:

For more information about the different categories and ratings, go to http://www.wattpad.com/guidelines
