My GPS beeps with another emergency.
It's an alert from Pietro on Vormir
My path diverges from dads as I fly to Vormir.
I land next to Pietro. it's like a war is going on.
"What the hell is happening?!?" I ask Pietro as we stand by the edge of a cliff
I get confused as I watch Nat and Clint fight each other
"Well see the red-
Pietro stops talking momentarily to catch Clint before he jumps off the cliff.
Pietro throws Clint back into Nat who is also trying to throw herself off the cliff.
"The- red guy says one of us has to sacrifice ourselves to obtain the soul stone.. I won't let them do it.. you have to find another way" Pietro says ready to stop another one of them
"Y/n! Get out of here!" Nat yells at me as she tries to stun Clint. She must know why I'm here
Nat runs and jumps but she gets caught by Pietro.
"Pietro how long have you been doing this?!" I yell as I watch Clint and Nat go at it again
"Since we got here" Pietro yells back throwing Clint back on the ground
I look over the cliff to see the far drop down..
"Y/n M/n Stark! Go home now!" Nat yells at me again as she blasts Clint
I ignore her as I try to come up with a plan
"She's right! Go home!" Clint grunts grabbing Nat by the legs
I shake my head wondering if I jumped is there a way I could survive...
"I have a plan!" I shout to Pietro as I peer over the side of the cliff.
"What is it??" He shouts back as he catches both heroes trying to jump for the millionth time
I knew if I said my plan out loud the redskull wouldn't allow it
"Pietro!!!! Stop it!" Nat whines like a child as she tries to stun Clint again
"I- I have a way but you need to trust me" I say not knowing if my plan will work
"Trust you??" Pietro asks confused as he pushes Clint again
"Yes. Will you trust me?" I ask knowing he'll try to stop me
"Y/n- ... yes.." Pietro says uneasily
"You have to promise you will hold Nat and Clint back... no matter what... I promise it'll be okay" I nod as Nat and Clint fight each other more
"I-I promise... " He grunts pushing Nat back
"I can do this..." I say looking over the edge
"Y/n! What are you doing!??" Nat yells running at me
Pietro flashes in front of her stopping her
"Y/n please no!" Nat grunts trying to move Pietro
I close my eyes holding onto my GPS. My heart is racing... I hope the odds are in my favor.
I go to my happy place in my head, baseball game with Peter and Harley.
I take the step off the cliff hearing screams behind me....
I know they won't catch me since Pietro is holding them back but I know how painful this is for him.
With my eyes closed I press my GPS.
Then nothing.
It felt like nothing.
I was too scared to open my eyes... worried that the worst had happened and I wasn't quick enough.
"Oh my- Y/N!!!"
I open my eyes to see that I'm back on the landing pad
Dad picks me up and spins me around in his arms.
"Dad! Put me down!" I laugh seeing the familiar walls of the compound
He sets me down and Steve runs up and tackles me
"Oh man kid you had us scared" Steve sighs happily hugging me
"Are you okay?" Dad asks looking at me
"I think I'm gonna throw up" I laugh a little
"Haha good one" Steve chuckles
"No I'm serious" I say feeling nauseous
"Shit" dad says Laughing a little
Steve runs me to the bathroom where I puke my guts out.
Dad holds my hair back
"Thank you" I cough getting back up
"Weird side affect" dad shakes his head
"I don't think my stomach enjoyed jumping off that cliff" I say before washing my mouth out
"Cliff? Kid what are you talking about?" Dad asks concerned
"Vormir. That's why it took me so long to get back.. I jumped off the cliff so nobody else would. If it worked they should be back any second with the stone" I explain
"How did you know that would work?" Dad asks
"I didn't. I kinda sacrificed myself" I shrug
"Y/n!" He gasps
"Dad I know..." I sigh knowing he'll probably yell at me
"You take after me. I couldn't be more proud" he says hugging me
"I thought you might yell.." I giggle glad I was wrong
"No but you do need to be careful. That was dangerous." He sighs kissing my head
"Let's go back and see everyone" I suggest
We walk back to the platform.
I hear crying?
I see Clint Nat and Pietro back.
Nat is sobbing, Clint has his arms around her trying to console her. Pietro is crying.
"She- she jumped so none of us would..." Nat sobs telling the others what I did
"Guys... I'm here" I say over the voices and everyone looks at me
"Y/N?!" Pietro flashes straight to me and picks me up wrapping his arms tightly around me. I can feel him shaking as he holds me
"Pietro it's okay. I'm here" I whisper
"We thought you were- gone" he breaths out relieved. keeping his arms securely around me
"Y-y/n?!" I hear Nat.
I look up to see her eyes still shedding tears looking at me
Pietro puts me down and I put my hands out to her
"I'm here Nat. It's okay" I lightly smile
She touches my face before grabbing me for a hug.
Clint wraps his arms around the both of us and we stay there for a moment
Nats sobs turn to happy laughter.
"I don't know what I would do without my best girl" Nat sniffles taking a look at me while wiping tears
"And what would we do without you!?" I smile
"It would be a complete nightmare" dad says. And he's not kidding (🤭😬)
"So we have a party now right? Nobody died! We got every stone!" Thor enthuses
"Sorry buddy... not done yet" Bruce says
"He's right. Let's get to work" dad claps his hands
Dad pulls out his plans for a gauntlet like Thanos' that can be used to snap with.
"Let's build it" dad smirks
After a good amount of time we have it just about done.
"Would ya look at that" dad says staring at the gauntlet proudly
He uses a machine to place the stones in the correct positions
We stare at it in awe
"Boom!" Rocket yells trying to scare us which he succeeds at
"Rocket!" I groan slapping his arm
We go to the big room where everyone can get a look at the finished gauntlet
"Okay. Gloves ready. Question is who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?" Rocket crosses his arms
"I'll do it" Thor says nonchalantly
"Excuse me?" Scott says surprised
"It's okay" Thor nods getting up and reaching for the gauntlet
"No, no, no. Woah- stop- hey"
Everyone holds Thor back
"Wait wait wait. Thor just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet" Steve says
"I'm sorry what are we just sitting around, waiting for the right opportunity??" Thor groans
"We should discuss it" Scott reasons with the god
"No. No sitting here staring at this things is not gonna bring everyone back. I'm the strongest avenger okay? This is my duty" Thor says getting angry
"It's not that.." dad tries to stop him again
Everyone rises in a chatter
"It's... stop! Stop it. Just let me..."
Thor tears up
"Just let me do it. Let me do something good. Something right." Thor says grasping dads shirt
I can't believe how broken Thor has become about everything...
"Look.. it's not the fact that the glove is channeling enough energy to light up a continent. I'm telling you, you're in no condition... I know what you're going through buddy" dad puts a hand on Thor's shoulder
"Wha? What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?" Thor asks
"Cheese whiz?" Rhodey deadpans
"Lightning" Thor says confidently
"Yeah." dad agrees trying to help
"Lightening won't help.. its gotta be me" Bruce sighs stepping up
Thor let's go of dads shirt
"You saw what the stones did to Thanos. It almost killed him. None of you would survive." Bruce shakes his head
"How do we know you will?" Steve asks
"We don't. But the radiation is mostly gamma. It's like... I was made for this" Bruce looks at the gauntlet
Nobody intervenes so dad takes out the gauntlet and hands it over to Bruce.
I know I'm an emotional bitch baby so it was no surprise that I started to tear up... we don't know how this is going to affect him.. it's all scary
"Good to go?" Dad asks as Bruce puts on the gauntlet
"Let's do it" Bruce nods
"You remember. Everyone Thanos snapped away a year ago and just bringing them back to today. Don't change anything else from the past year" dad reminds him
"Got it." Bruce listens
"Science bros" dad smiles fist bumping Bruce
We all step back and suit up getting ready for what comes next.
"Friday. Do me a favor and activate barn door protocol will you?" Dad commands
"Yes boss" Friday responds
The Avengers facility goes on lockdown.
"Everybody comes home." Bruce nods reassuring himself
He puts on the gauntlet which nanobotically expands to fit his hand.
The surge of power overwhelms him quickly
Bruce grunts in pain.
"Take it off!!!" Thor and I shout at the same time
"Bruce are you okay??" Steve asks
"Talk to me Banner" dad says sternly
"I'm- okay. Im okay" Bruce nods
Thor puts a thumbs up to me and I give him one back
Then Bruce screams fighting through the intense pain coursing through his body.
Bruce manages to snap his fingers.
After snapping Bruce falls to the ground unconscious and the gauntlet slides off.
"Bruce!" I yell
"Don't move him!" Dad shouts
Bruce slowly wakes up
"Did it work?" Bruce asks weakly
"Guys I think it worked!!" Scott runs over
I smile at dad but next thing I know a missile hits...
Everyone sinks under the debris...
We all get separated.
I wake up on the cold wet ground with dad and Steve shaking me
"Y/n... come on we need you" dad smiles seeing my eyes open
"What's happening??" I cough sitting up
"We messed with time. Times messing back.."
I get up and we walk up to join Thor who has been observing Thanos?
"What's he been doing?" Dad asks
"Absolutely nothing" Thor answers
"Where are the stones??" Steve asks
"Somewhere under all this. He doesn't have them" dad answers
"So we keep it that way." Steve says confidently
"You know this is a trap right?" Thor asks
"Yeah and I don't much care." Dad says staring at Thanos
"Good. As long as we are all in agreement."
Thunder cracks as Thor summons both stormbreaker and mjolnir. Then his casual clothes turn into his armor and cape. He looks like a Viking which I find pretty funny
"Let's kill him properly this time" Thor says
We walk to confront Thanos Face to face.
"You could not live with your own failure. And where did that bring you? Back to me. I thought by eliminating half of life the other half would thrive. But you've shown me that's impossible. You will never accept this." Thanos says
"Yep. We're all kinds of stubborn." Dad says
"I'm Thankful. Because now, I know what I must do. I will shred this universe down to its last atom. And then with the stones I will create a new one. A grateful universe" Thanos stands and puts his armor on
Thor lights himself up with thunder.
"Born out of blood" Steve responds
"They'll never know. You won't be alive to tell them" Thanos says threatening us
The final fight begins...
