"Hey ready to go?" you asked Macbeth, he nodded without speaking, you pouted weakly, "alright then let's go" you said and the two of you head off to go on your mission, Macbeth was awfully quiet the entire trip and he usually isn't like that around you. "Why have you been so quiet?! It's driving me insane!" you shouted angrily at him, he avoided my eyes, "what's wrong?" you asked, getting closer, "hey stay back" he said, his voice was hoarse, "AHA YOURE SICK!" you yelled proudly, "damn it!" he shouted, his voice cracking, "why didn't you tell me? You should be home resting!" you scolded him, "because I knew you'd react like this and wouldn't take me on the mission" he told you. "Wha— I— AGH! ITS BECAUSE YOU SHOULD BE RESTING!" you stuttered before shouting your head off on the train, "we're turning right around and you're going home to rest" you told him, "no! come on let's just go" he complained, "MACBETH WHATEVER YOUR LAST NAME IS WE'RE GOING HOME!" you snapped at him.
"It's just a cold! Everyone gets them! I'll be fine!" he tried to assure you, "I am not gonna get everyone in that village sick because of you! We can complete it when you're better but not now!" you said angrily, he scoffed and looked away from you, "listen here you big baby!" you eyed him down, "I'm going on this mission" he said sternly.
No he isn't.
After literally dragging him back to his home, you basically locked him into his own house, since the train ride was long it was already late, "it's near midnight now Macbeth so please, wait here and I'll get you some medicine" you told him and left the house, going to a nearby store that was always open to get medicine. Another reason he didn't wanna tell you was because he knew how much you cared about him and he didn't want to risk getting you sick or you having to spend more time than you needed to with him. As you walked back to the house with medicine in hand, you didn't mind taking care of your bestfriend, even if it meant putting everything else on hold. You went inside and prepared soup for him, giving it to him with the medicine, "how did you get sick so fast? I was here just yesterday with the others" you asked him, "it was just a fever so I hid it, I really didn't wanna miss this mission with you" he admitted embarassedly.
"Ahh wait till the guild hears about this" you said, "no no don't tell them please they'll never let me live it down" he complained, "you won't live it down with me" you teased, "I'll cough on you" he glared at you, "fair point" you shrugged which made the two of you laugh. "Yknow its not unusual to hear you complain, your daily life has prepared me for you immense sick complaining" you mocked him, "I will actually vomit on you" he threatened, "I didn't realize that you could actually become more disgusting, and yet you still manage to prove me wrong" you teased him playfully, "I—" he started and pulled the blanket off, you laughed and got up, "get back into bed!" you half panicked half giggled, "come here!" he shouted and chased you around the house, he wrapped his arms around your torso and dragged you back to the bed with him.
"No! You're gonna get me sick!" you complained, "good, you can stay longer then" he said with a sly smile on as he cuddled closer to you, "ah you freaking cat" you complained, he hugged you tighter, "does being sick make you more needy?" you asked him, he nodded, you smiled and laughed a little under your breath. "Did you already take your medicine?" you asked, sitting up next to him, letting him rest his head on your lap, "yes" he nodded, you played with his hair, "please don't puke in my lap" you whispered to him, "no promises" he whispered back, even if he was sick and complaining all the time he still could always make you laugh. You rested with him since he couldn't fall asleep from how ill he was feeling, the two of you were watching a movie when you looked down to check on him and you noticed him getting pale(r).
"Macbeth?!" you panicked, he didn't say anything, you knew why, "DAMN IT MACBETH!" you complained and lightly took his head off your lap and rushed to get him a bucket to throw up in, "you could've just made a run for it and threw up" you said as you held his hair back, "you know this should be the other way around" you glared at him, he was silent as he held the bucket. "Jeez I should really stop yelling" you mumbled as you scratched your neck, you went and got him water, rubbing his back as he relaxed, "it's alright, take your time" you assured him, he looked over at you, "I'm really sorry you have to stay here to take care of me, I thought the fever would just go away and that I would be f-" he started until you put your finger to his lip, "I would have kissed you to shut you up but you probably taste like vomit and I'm not down for that right now" you said which made him laugh and hang his head.
"Just focus on getting better Macbeth, you know I love you, that's why I'm still here" you smiled, "come on, let's try and get some rest" you added and laid down, encouraging him to lay beside you, "if you feel sick there's another bucket beside you" you said as he laid down next to you, "I really don't want to puke on you in the middle of the night that's not romantic" he said, "I'll just... sleep behind you and hug your back" you laughed, cuddling his back as his arms went over yours and tangled his fingers with yours.
"If I'm sick tomorrow, can we vomit on Jellal?"
"Yes."
