Haha, omg you guys are so lucky you got this chapter this week. I wrote this in two days when it normally take me a week because school started for me, and I have my two hardest classes this semester. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter! Drop a comment to let me know what ya think❤️

"So why are we out here?" I asked, stabbing my pasta with my fork before shoveling it into my face. I looked at my father expectantly. He and Mio sat across from Tobias and me. We were at a very fancy Italian restaurant. Mio looked very calm as she ate her pasta covered in pesto sauce, a small smile on her face as she ate. My father on the other hand looked nervous. He had barely picked at the large plate of pasta in front of him. He was fidgety and hadn't said much during dinner.

"Uh, yes," he said before clearing his throat. I raised an eyebrow at him, my fork stabbed into the past still laying in the bowl in front of me. I sent a glance over at Tobias. His bright (E/C) eyes met mine, and he shrugged, pushing more pasta into his mouth. He quickly turned his attention but to our father. "Uh, well, Mio and I have an announcement to make," he said, and immediately I knew what conversation was going to take place. I laughed inwardly. I could have some fun with this. There was a moment of silence before dad dropped the bombshell. "Mio and I are engaged," he managed

"Oh, we know," I said nonchalantly, before taking in another mouth full of noodles. My fathers eyes immediately widened as he looked at us. His face was which had been very pale went red very quickly.

"How the hell did you guys figure it out already?" he hissed quietly, leaning forward, very clearly wanting a good explanation. "We don't even have a ring yet, and you aren't even home," he pointed out. His bright red eyebrows were drawn together in confusion as he looked between the two of us. Tobias took a causal sip of his water before responding.

"Mio said you guys were gonna spend the rest of your lives together," my brother said, twirling his fork into his spaghetti noodles absentmindedly. Our father groaned and let his head fall into hands, letting out a deep sigh as he did so. This cause both my brother and I to snicker slightly, glancing at each other, bright smiles on our faces.

At first I hadn't been sure what to think about the engagement, but I was starting to think that this was the perfect time, the perfect plan. With everything that had been going on, this is what we needed, all of us. And not to mention that this was exciting. A marriage in your family didn't happen every day. It was an important and exciting event. I was already starting to feel giddy about the events that hadn't even taken place yet.

"Also, (Y/N)," my father began, turning to look at me. He had regained his composer but still looked a little irked that it couldn't be a surprise. He was probably trusted at getting so worked up over something that we already knew. I knew my father very well. "This pertains more to you, and you're brother already knows." He immediately held up his hands in a placating gesture. He knew I hated it when things were kept from me. This time was no exception. "We just didn't get the chance, and this really isn't something we could discuss over the phone. It's easier to do in person," he explained. I crossed my arms and leaned back in my chair, not completely happy but still willingly to be understanding. Dad was under pressure. I needed to give him a little bit of a break. He couldn't be on top of everything all the time. It was too much for one man.

"Mio wants a temptaint," he said. "And this isn't something I can keep her from doing, especially since we are getting married. She wants to know." All previous anger rushed out of my body as his words. I had already known about this. There was nothing to be mad about. Now, I wasn't exactly happy about Mio wanting a temptaint. I wouldn't wish being stuck to see demons for the rest of your life on anyone, even my eighth grade bully. Demons had gotten me into this hellish nightmare, and I didn't want to drag Mio into it. But if dad had relented, I'd dint really have any room to argue. This was Mio's decision to make. And I wasn't about to stop her.

"Oh, I know," I said as my father was taking a sip of his water. He immediately began choking on the water, probably not expecting those words out of my mouth. Mio pounded on his back as he coughed, drawing a few looks from other patrons filling the restaurant. I was too busy laughing to care about the people staring at our small family.

"Does anything get by you two anymore?" my father asked, looking beyond exasperated. I looked over at Tobias with a smirk on my face. I giggled when I say that trademark (L/N) smirk on his face as well. I looked back at my father and shrugged while taking a sip of my strawberry lemonade. I heard the red haired man sigh and drop his head in defeat. I covered my mouth, trying to stifle a laugh.

"I'll take to Mephisto, but I don't think he'll be very happy," I warned. "This is risky business, and as a member of the order he could get in trouble with the Vatican for an unauthorized temptaint," I explained. Dad nodded but Mio looked confused. "For students that enter the cram school without a temptaint, a ritual is preformed for those student to receive their temptaints, but all of that is recorded and authorized by the Vatican," I explained, and the dark haired woman nodded, looking thoughtful. "But I'll talk to him," I said, trying to figure out how I would convince the demon headmaster to go against the Vatican and administer an unauthorized, illegal temptaint to a civilian. Honestly, thinking about it, it shouldn't be that hard. He kept things firm the order and the Vatican all the time. He was a demon after all. It's in his nature to lie and be deceitful.

"Anyway, let's enjoy an actual dinner as a family and not talk about how we're going to give Mio a wound inflicted by a demon," Tobias said, causing all three of us to laugh. He was very good at lightening the mood. The thoughts of the temptaint and demons quickly drifted away as we sat around the table as one, small, patchwork family. But at that moments, nothing cokld have been more perfect.

{Line Break}

The demon king of time and space sat in front of us, an unamused look in his features. His green eyes were narrowed, and one long purple finger nail was tapping on the desk. It was the only sound other than the ticking coo coo clock on the wall and a creaking from the hamster wheel that belonged to a strange green hamster. I had seen it before but decided not to ask. This time was no different than last.

Mephisto's graze moved back and between my father, who was sitting on one end of the line, and my brother who sat at the other. His face remained impassive, unmoving and with no emotion clear in his accident green eyes. He finally let out a sigh and leaned his elbows on the desk before stapling his hands, looking me right in the eyes. No matter how many times he did it, I would never get used to it.

"So, tell me, Miss (L/N). Just, tell me again as a refresher of what you want me to do for you," he said, running a hand down his face.

"Give Mio a temptaint," I said, nearly wincing at how simple it sounded. This was far from simple.

"You do realize the way you make that sound Miss (L/N)," he began, intertwining his fingers again and resting his chin on top. "This would require-"

"I know," I said, cutting him off. He glared at me, but I continued before he could speak again. "This is would require you to completely go against the Oder not to mention the Vatican, something that could get you in a lot of trouble. It could possibly strip you of your title of headmaster and have to banished back to Gehenna. I know," I said. His eyebrows raised as he stared at me.

"Indeed, Miss (L/N), that is what would happen if I were to warrant an unauthorized temptaint to a citizen," he said smoothly. "But I've kept plenty of information from the order and the Vatican, you know that," he said, and I knew he was talking about keeping Katsuro and Kitiara and secret from the Vatican and the rest of the order. "I suppose I could do this for you, Miss (L/N)," he drawled.

"What's the catch?" I immediately asked, he was a demon kind after all.

"There is no catch," he said. I frowned at him. He sighed and rolled his eyes. "You know me too well," he teased, sending me a fake smile. "I might ask you for a favor in the future, cram school related of course." I mulled it over for a minutes before deciding that he couldn't possibly want to do any harm to me. Even though he was a demon, he never acted that way. He was the one trying to get me out of the nightmare I was in.

"Deal," I said, sticking my hand out to the green eyed demon. He took my hand with his glove clad one, and we shook.

"Alright, let's get started."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Bons's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sounds of indignant shouts rang through the building, and I knew Okumara and Shima were playing some sort of video game. All you had to do was walk in the building to know that much. Anyone could hear them from downstairs in the front lobby of the old boy's dorm.
I sighed and shook my head as I returned my attention back to the book in front of me. I was trying to prepare for our fatal verses quiz in two days. It was becoming increasingly difficult to study and take in any information the long I sat there. The long I sat there, the long (Y/N) was away from me, subsequently in danger.
Now, I wasn't a possessive boyfriend by any means, but I was rightfully worried about her wellbeing with everything that had been going on with her and the swords. Anxiety clawed at my chest every time she was out of my sight. The irrational side of my mind screamed that every time she stopped by room to say goodnight, that was the last one I would see her, the last time I would hear her beautiful voice, the last time I would hold her, the last time I would feel her gentle lips against my own.
My hands formed fists as I shook my head, trying to rid these awful, irrational thoughts. I knew exactly where she was. She was with her family. She was in good hands. She was just out for dinner with her father, her brother, and Mio. She was safe. And if she had another migraine, her family would be there for her. But what if it's worse than before? What if it starts affecting her wellbeing? What if-
I slammed my clenched fists on the table in front of me. I squeezed my eyes tight and took steady breaths, trying to calm my racing heart. It was nothing compared to my racing thoughts.
There was suddenly something on my shoulder, and I jumped, nearly falling out of my chair. I whipped around to see the fiery redhead who I knew was Cole (L/N), (Y/N) father, probably the only man who truly intimidated me.
"Are you alright, Suguro?" Cole asked, his voice soft and slow as if he was talking to a frightened child, but I guess to him I was just that.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Just startled me is all," I said as I stood up and stuck out my hand for him to shake. He took it and shook, smiling slightly. "And you can call me Ryuji if you'd like," I offered. He nodded and his smile widened. "And, um, where's (Y/N)?" I asked cautiously. His smile only widened.
"With Mio," he explained, and I nodded.
"Take a seat, Ryuji, I just wanted to talk to you for a few minutes," he said, taking a seat next to my empty one casually. I was frozen in fear for a moment before moving to retake my seat, facing my girlfriend's father. "It's nothing bad, I promise," he said, and I nodded, but I couldn't help feeling a little bit of worry grab at my chest as I looked at the man. "(Y/N) probably told you, but Mio and I art getting married," he said. I nodded slowly, not sure where he was going with this. His next words stunned me to silence. "I want you at the wedding, Ryuji, one of my groomsmen; (Y/N)'s a bride's maid, Mio insisted." I could barley keep my jaw off the floor as the man continued. "I've seen how my daughter looks at you, and her gaze has held nothing but love and admiration. She's never looked at anyone like that before, not the way she does with you. I've seen how much you want to protect her and how much you love her, I can see that, anyone would be able to see the love you have for (Y/N). As far as I'm concerned, you're part of this crazy family whether you like it or not," he finished with a smile.
"Uh, I don't know what to say," I managed to get out. His smiled widened. I could now see where (Y/N) got her smile. He clapped me on the shoulder and stood up.
"You don't have to say anything. It's fine. I threw a lot of info on you all at once." I could only nod dumbly, still trying to work through the words and emotions that had just been dumped on me. "Come on, let's go find (Y/N)," he offered, and I nodded, standing up to join him. He immediately his arm around my shoulder. I tenses but quickly relaxed as his words made their way to the forefront of my mind. He liked me enough to let me continue to date his daughter and invite me into his family.
That was more than enough for me.
