Jens POV
I wasn't done talking to Leah that day. I had to text her.
"Leah I'm literally gonna go off on you if you don't fuckin tell me"
"I'm not telling you! Can't you just step out of my bubble. It's something I'm keeping private"
"Step out of your bubble?? We've had sex multiple times and you're acting like we didn't have something back then. And the fact that you lied to me"
"Lied?? When did I lie to you? What did I lie about? You kept your secret from me for so long! You're so fucking lucky I'm still making an effort to stay in your life cause I could easily just go."
"I did that because I was scared to loose you. I really liked you leah. And to be honest I still do. I don't even understand why I'm still dealing with you when you hurt me. Vanessa talked me into being your friend at least but it's so annoying that you treat my little girl like she's yours and yet you don't want a kid! Me and you could've had the dream. It would be perfect. My daughter obsessed with my girlfriend would be a healthy relationship."
"Well I'm sorry I'm just not at the right state of mind to be having or dealing with someone's kid. I cant be dating someone who I have to treat their kid as my own. Take care of them at times when needed and act like a coparent."
"Lee. Are u fucking dumb?! You're literally doing that now! You took care of her today. You deal with her everyday at school." She didn't reply after I texted that. I feel like she's being so stupid because she knows we can work out.

After a whole night, she still didn't reply and It's already the next day. I'm about to see her at school today.
I walked in the classroom with Veronica and still gave Leah her Starbucks.
"You're welcome" I said with a bit of an attitude. "Thank you" She says coldly. I walked away and gave Veronica a peck then I left. Leah pisses me of but she's hot so it's annoying.
Leahs pov
After school since it was a Friday, I went out with my friends again. We went to a bar since there was a game going on too. Tonight I'm drinking since we have a DD. So tonight I might go wild.
I'm sitting on my stool eating some wings with my friends. I've already finished half a cup of my second and strong alcohol and feeling tipsy.
"Bitch I bet you the bartender hooks up with a girl each night" my friend tells me. "Pfft nah. That's too much. He'd have some std by now" I said and drank more.
"Condoms exist!"
"They could still transfer!" I said out loud and the bartender looks at me. I spit my drink out as I laughed and looked away. Yet he still approached me.
He wiped the area with a rag to where I spit my drink and handed me a fresh napkin.
"Thaaank you" i said.
"No problem" he says and winks. I usually have no chill when I'm drunk so I laughed out loud and winked back at him.
"I'm gay but I'm gonna still pretend we're flirting" I said. He gives me this look that I would expect whenever people find out I'm gay.
"You're gay and single?" I hear a woman voice say. My friend nudges me in an obvious way and I look at the random lady.
"Woah you're pretty" I said out loud and covered my mouth after realizing how loud I was.
"You're sexy" she smirks and eyes me down. I smile and bite my lip. "I assume you like women too?" I ask. "Love" She says.
"Okay wait no. I'm not letting you go home with someone else" my friend mutters in my ear from behind. I sighed but kept my eyes on this woman whose so gorgeous..
"I'm not a one night stand kind of girl but I'll tell you this...give me your number and I'll text or call you sometime" she says.
"Mmkay and what's your name?" I ask as I give her my number.
"Clarissa"
"Nice meeting you Clarissa" I wink. She winks back and leaves.
"Oooooo" my friend teases and nudges me repeatedly. "So that means you and Jennifer are really done?"
"She's just my friend!" I shouted out. "Okay chill"
"Do not tell me to chill. She's my friend and that's all" I said. "Okaaay" She says and gets up and goes to one our other friends. Now I'm sitting alone. The rest is either with their loved one, left the bar or with another friend.
But the night was nice.
Until I realized minutes later that all my friends drifted away from each other and left with someone. What happened to girl code? Sticking to one friend and making sure one gets home? Lovely.
"Where'd your friends go?" The bartender asks me. "I don't know" I sighed and went on my phone. Still drunk and a mess but I'm texting the first person that comes to mind.
"I'm drunkkkk k and have NO ride hooomerere :(" I sent that to Jennifer. She read it soo fast. Asked me for the address and now she's on her way. At least she cares.
Later
"You're a mess!" I hear someone say. I turn around and it's Jennifer. "Thank youuu" I said and gave her a hug from my stool. But she pushes me back and takes the drink out of my hand.
"Why the fuck are you so drunk? And alone?"
"Everyone left me" I pout while looking down. "Your friends are always caring about themselves only. Let's go" She says and helps me out of the building, into her car.
"I'll take you to my house but don't make noise! My mom and Veronica are asleep"
"Okaaay" I said.
She helped me in her car, buckled me up and then we left.
"I don't know why you even went out without someone making sure you were safe going home" she says.
"I did but she left me!"
"You guys didn't even have a designated driver or what?"
"We did!"
"Then what the hell happened? Do you not know how dangerous it is to be drinking out on a Friday night and you're alone drunk as shit. You're an easy target since you're such a good looking girl. You're lucky you were at least smart enough to text me. I don't even know why you texted me but I'm glad you did so I know that you're safe" she says. She's just lecturing me at this point. "I don't understand how you can be so stubborn sometimes. You're a grown ass woman. Young but grown and mature if that makes sense. Yet you're doing childish shit"
"Jennifer I was being a normal adult having a fun night out and I usually have people to take care of me. I barely even get drunk and I knew what my night was supposed to consist of. I don't need you babbling about how it should've went." I said.
She doesn't answer and just kept quiet as she continued to drive.

Jens pov
Since I have an extra guest room I had Leah sleep there. I'm not letting that woman sleep in my bed. Last time she did we had sex but that's cause we were into each other. Right now I'm mad at her for even being so stupid. Mad at her for not telling me why she can't or doesn't want kids and mad that she just wants to be friends with me and that's it. She's really pissing me off each second.
The next morning, I had already made breakfast for me and Veronica. There is extra for Leah and that's up to her if she wants to stay or not.
I went into her room and see her just waking up and she sees me right away.
"Fuck" she groans. "Ha..Yup. You're here" I said and brought her a cup that had some hangover cure in it. I sat on the bed at the edge and handed it to her. "Thanks"
"Yeah yeah. Are you staying for breakfast or leaving? Because Veronica's awake and you know damn well how excited she's gonna get knowing you're here." I said.
"I'll stay for her. But I need to shower first. May I?" She asks.
"Yeah whatever. Fresh towels are in the cabinet once you walk down the hallway.."
"Okay" She says. I leave the room and close it so Veronica wouldn't know till she comes down fresh and not messed up because of last night.
I went back down to the kitchen and continued to eat with Veronica. Then later Leah comes down and of course Veronica gets excited. She runs up to her and crashed into her legs hugging her tight.
"Hey sweetie" Leah says tiredly. "Hi what are you doing here?"
"Uh-"
"I wanted her to sleep over...so- yeah!" I lied.
"Aww Yay! You should always sleep over Miss Leah. But bring Biscuit next time!"
"Yeah alright" Leah says in a higher pitched tone. Liar.
"Help yourself with the food" I said. She sits down next to Veronica and starts placing food on her own plate to eat. I completely mad dogged her the whole morning as she ate and I know she's wondering why but at the same time she should know why. If she remembers last night.
"So..are you guys doing anything today?" She asks killing the silence. Well the living room tv was on playing cartoons. That's all.
"We have a family party" I said. "Mm" she mumbles. "Miss Leah?"
"Yeah?"
"we have our favorite cookies here" she says sweetly.
"No mama. It's too early for that"
"We can eat that at school. Yeah?" Leah asks her. "Okay" she smiles.
Veronica quickly finished her food before us so she ended up leaving me and Leah alone at the table while she went to go.
I give Leah this look. For a second she ignored it but I can tell she started to get annoyed by me just looking at her.
"What Jennifer?"
"Do you remember anything from last night?"
"Barely"
"Mm. Well I was mad at you because you had none of your damn friends take you home or even take care of you. You texted me to get you" I said.
"Well thanks for getting me"
"I still care about you so I'd appreciate more than a 'thanks'"
"Thank you so much Jennifer for picking me..your ex..up at a bar because I was so drunk. I truly appreciate your time."
I press my lips and look down at my food. It sucks knowing I deserve better. But I like her and I really miss what we had. It's like I'm fighting to have it back and I'm doing everything just to make her want me again. But at this point it's like I'm talking to the wall.
After dropping her off to her place, me and Veronica arrived to the family party. She immediately hangs out with all her little cousins so I went to my cousins and ate with them.
"You look like you had a rough night ma" my cousin says. Only she can say that to me. If someone else says it, I'd slap them in the face.
"My ex had me pick her up last night because she was wasted and had no ride home" I said. "Whaaat?"
"Yup.."
"Leah?"
"Mhm"
"Y'all are still talking? Why?"
"Wow I haven't even told you. She's Veronica's teacher. I didn't even find that out till after we broke up. Veronica loves her like crazy so I kind of have to deal with her till she's out of her class for the year" I said.
"Sheesh...that's rough"
"Yeah I know" I said and shook my head then looked down at my phone.
"Hey! This is the girl you met last night at the bar. The moment I laid eyes on you I just knew I couldn't just see you for that one night so I'm glad you gave me your number. Let's chill sometime! I'd like to see you again"
This was a text I just got. I don't know the number at all but I already know this was meant for Leah. She was at the bar last night. So I screenshotted to the message and sent it to Leah.
"Just incase you wanted to mess around with the girl you met last night" I texted them immediately locked my phone and placed it aggressively on the table. Did she purposely give her my number? I don't know. But if she did she's a fucking bitch for that. I get that she wants to be friends but she doesn't have to rub it in my face. Childish.
