━━━━━ ELLIE AND ASTRID followed behind Alice as she led them to the building where the Volturi were located. Opening the door Alice pushed through walking inside as Ellie followed behind her, as Astrid looked around the crowd following behind Ellie.
"Come on, guys. It's a festival. You wouldn't want to make a scene." Alice said, taking her glasses off. Astrid stood close to Ellie as the two of them came to a stop next to Bella.
"We wouldn't." The tall vampire spoke.
Ellie looked past the two red eyed vampires as another vampire walked down the hall. Removing her hood to reveal blonde hair.
"Enough." The short blonde vampire spoke softly but loud enough to be heard.
"Jane." Ellie heard Edward speak looking down at the ground. Ellie was pulled closer to Astrid as she suddenly became more protective of the human.
"Aro sent me to send what was taking so long." Jane said as she looked between the two vampires.
Turning around she walked away from the group. Edward moved forward as Bella followed behind looking over at Alice.
"Just do as she says." Alice informed them, looking at Bella then back at the brunettes.
Ellie nodded in response as she and Astrid followed behind them. They walked down the rest of the hallway passing by some lighted area as the vampires shined in the light. Jane comes to a stop at the stairs turning to face the group. "Go ahead." She told them.
Edward and Bella walked down the steps as Jane followed behind them, Alice stood next to Ellie as Astrid stood behind her keeping an eye on the two vampires behind them. Coming to a stop, doors open to reveal an elevator.
The tall one moves first, walking into the elevator. Ellie follows behind, standing close to Jane but behind her as the elevator continues to go down. The box comes to a stop, watching the doors slowly open then they begin to exit the elevator walking past a woman who stands up and speaks something in Italian.
Ellie looked around as Astrid kept close, still getting ready to attack in case something was to happen to her. They came upon a door, Ellie watched as Jane opened it and continued to walk towards the Volturi.
Ellie walked next to Astrid as they came down a long corridor that led to the Volturi. She felt her anxiety build up inside her as Jane pushed through the doors, everyone else following behind her.
"Sister. They send you to get one and you bring back two. And a half, and a protector." The red eyed vampire spoke.
Ellie looked over at Astrid, "how do they know what you are?" Ellie asked her in a whispering voice.
Astrid turned her head looking at Ellie, "every vampire, no matter where they come from, whether they're good or bad, they know about me." She informed the human looking back at Aro.
"Do they know that you're protecting me?" She asked fear striking at her. Astrid shrugged her shoulders as the group came to a stop.
"What a happy surprise! Bella is alive after all."
Smiling as he walked down the steps towards the group. "Isn't that wonderful?" He asked, clapping his hands together. "I love a happy ending. They are so rare." Aro walked towards Edward pulling his hand away from Bella's and holding it in his hands.
Ellie listened as he spoke in Italian, a language she wasn't familiar with that much.
"Her blood appeals to you so much it makes me thirsty. How can you stand to be so close to her?" Aro asked him.
"It's not without difficulty." Edward replied back, still looking at Aro.
"Yes, I can see that." Aro responded as Edward looked at Bella and Ellie.
"Aro can read every thought I've ever had with one touch." Edward explained to the two brunettes. Aro looked over at Bella, then placed his attention on Ellie.
"And now you know everything." He said, watching as Aro turned to look back at Edward. "So get on with it." Edward added.
"You are quite a soul reader yourself, Edward. Though you can't read Bella's thoughts, and it seems as though you couldn't read Ellie's thoughts when you first met her." Aro explained, pausing for a moment to look over at Ellie.
"Fascinating. I would love to see if the two of you are an exception to my gifts, as well." Aro said backing up from them. "Would you do me the honor?" He asked, holding his hand out towards Bella.
Ellie watched as Bella moved forward, lifting her hand up towards Aro. He grasped her hand waiting for something to happen, but he couldn't read anything. Everyone waited for Aro to say something, he looked at Bella.
"Hmm, I see nothing." Aro said as Alive and Edward pulled Bella back towards them. "Ellie, I believe it's your turn." Aro said, looking over at Ellie holding his hand out towards her.
Ellie looked over at Astrid, who nodded her head giving her the okay. Ellie breathed out, moving towards Aro. Lifting her hand up she watched as Aro grasped it waiting for something to be shown. Pulling his hand away from the brunette he stared at her for a brief moment.
"I see nothing." Aro said he then looked over to Edward to see if there was anything she had been thinking.
"She wants to understand what's wrong with her. She wants to understand why she's different from everyone including Bella." Edward informed him.
Astrid grasped Ellie's arm pulling her back towards her, watching as Aro turned away from them. "Interesting." Aro said. Astrid walked over to Ellie pulling her back towards her. "I wonder if... Let us see if they are immune to all our powers. Shall we, Jane?" Aro asked, looking over at the blonde vampire.
"No." Edward and Astrid said at the same time as they started to move away from the humans.
"Pain." Jane said as the vampire and protector slowly fell to the ground.
"No, no, don't hurt them." Ellie said, watching Astrid.
"Stop, stop. Stop. Just stop hurting them, please." Bella yelled.
"Jane." Aro ordered.
"Master?"
Jane stopped what she was doing and looked over at Aro waiting for him to tell her to continue on. Edward and Astrid breathed in the air. Ellie attempted to move over to Astrid but she was stopped by Felix.
"Go ahead, my dear." Aro ordered. Jane looked away from Aro, placing her attention on Bella and Ellie.
"This may hurt a bit?" Jane said as both Ellie and Bella waited for something to happen. However, nothing happened to the two, Aro began laughing, clapping his hands together, causing Jane to come out of her concentration.
"Remarkable. They confound us all. So what do we do with you now?" Aro asked, looking between the two girls.
"You already know what you're going to do, Aro." Marcus reminded him.
"They know too much." Caius said. "They're a liability." He added.
"Hmm. That's true. Felix." Aro called as he moved Bella out of the way.
Ellie watched as Astrid stood up and ran towards Ellie pulling her next to her and she saw Edward move Bella to the other side of him as he ran towards Felix, knocking him down to the ground.
Ellie gasped as Edward fell to the ground and Felix appeared next to him, wrapping his hand on Edward's neck and pushing down into the ground. Turning around he turned towards Bella, however Edward stood up and went after her.
Ellie grabbed a hold of Astrid hand gripping it tightly as she watched Edward and Felix moving around the room. Felix flipped him over onto the steps. Lifting him up he kneels him in front of Aro as he looks down at Edward.
"Please! No! No! Please, please!" Bella said, screaming. "Kill me! Kill me! Not him."
Ellie looked over at Bella wide-eyed. Aro looked over at Bella walking down the steps as Felix lifted Edward up from the ground turning him around to face Bella.
"How extraordinary. You would give up your life for someone like us. A vampire. A soulless monster." Aro said, turning his head at Edward, then looking back at Bella.
"You don't know a thing about his soul." Bella implied.
"This is a sadness. If only it were your intention to her immortality. And Ellie, of course." Aro said as he slowly started to walk towards Bella.
"Wait!" Alice called out, stopping him from doing anything. "Bella will be one of us. And so will Ellie. I've seen it. I'll change them both myself." Alice explained.
Ellie watched as Alice walked over to Aro pulling her glove off to show Aro. A few moments passed, and Aro let go of Alice's hand.
"Memorizing. To see what you have seen before it has happened. Your gifts will make for an intriguing immortal, Isabella, Ellie." Aro said. "Go now. Make your preparations." Aro said, turning away from Bella and Ellie. "Let us be done with this." Marcus said, soon he stood up from his chair just as Edward walked over to Bella.
"Heidi will arrive any moment." Marcus informed them. Alice walked back over to the group looking at Ellie. "Thank you for your visit." Marcus added.
"We will return the favor. I would advise that you follow through on your promise soon. We do not offer second chances." Caius told them, as the group turned around to walk out of the room.
"Goodbye my young friends." Aro said.
Ellie walked next to Alice as Astrid followed behind her as they were led out of the building. Ellie looked at the people as they passed them. Astrid pushed Ellie forward, stopping her from looking back at the people that were going to become a snack.
Ellie gasped for air, waking up, lifting her body up. She breathed in as the screams continued to pass through her mind. Looking around the room she noticed it wasn't hers. She then remembered that she had driven herself to the Cullen's house to see Carlisle. The blonde vampire opened the door to reveal Ellie sitting up in the bed, walking over to the bed, he pulled her into a hug.
"It's okay. You're safe now." He said as Ellie pulled him closer.
"Please, don't leave me ever again." Ellie said worried that if she went back to sleep he would leave her alone again.
"I won't. I promise." Carlisle responded, placing a soft kiss on her forehead, gently rubbing her hair.
