I was laying on Latimore's couch as he got us some popcorn. For some reason I felt like today he'd ask me out. Word was spreading around school and I was hoping that the rumors were true.
"Déjà?" Jacob asked as he walked into the room with the bowl of popcorn.
"Yes sir?" I laughed, scooting over so he could sit down next to me.
"We been talking for a little bit and I wanted to know if you wanted to be my girl?" He asked, popping a piece of popcorn into his mouth. On the outside, I kept a straight face. But the inside was throwing up unicorns, Beyoncé, rainbows, and yellow daisies.
"I don't really feel that way about you. Sorry." I lied, shrugging and standing up.
"Seriously?" He asked with a disappointed tone.
"No! Yes I'll be your girlfriend." I laughed. He smiled and stood up, kissing my lips softly. Here it goes. My cheeks were probably as red as apples and my stomach was bubbling like I was boiling hot dogs in there.
Finally, Ej was out of my life.........
