I wipe away the smudged mascara stains that trickled down my cheeks. My eyes were red and puffy from crying. I splash cold water on my face as if I were trying to wake myself up from a horrible nightmare. Obviously it didn't work.
I walk back out into the living room where everyone is sitting in akward silence. I take a seat next to Ponyboy and Sodapop.
"Dally and I should get in fights more often, this is the quietest y'all have ever been." I joke attempting to lighten the mood.
"Y/n, we really want you to know, we fully support you in any decision you make." Darry starts.
"Okay."
"But.."
Oh god.
"We all think the best idea would be to go see your family."
"It this your way of kicking me out?" I chuckle but no one else does.
"Y/n, we are being serious, what about your dad?" Soda trys reasoning.
"What about my dad?"
"Your father deserves to know." Darry pipes up again.
"My father is a deadbeat." I cross my arms and lean back, knowing we would be here a while.
"What about your brother?" Johnny's small voice points out.
Michael. I hadn't thought about Michael since I last saw him. Which I didn't leave on good terms with him. What would he say? I haven't the slightest clue as to how he would react.
I shrug looking down and fiddling with the corner of a throw pillow.
"Will you just think about it?" Steve chimes in.
"Yeah I guess." I mumble not looking up.
But really I had already made up my mind, and I still wasn't sure which option was the best.
