Chapter Four

It had been four months since Siobhan last saw Prince. As opposed to focusing on that minor of her life, she focused on that of her friends. Tamika and Ray Ray had begun hitting it off, finally tying the knot and becoming a couple.  Akira was making amends with her relationship status as well. She meet a man named Trey and they began hitting it off from there.

Siobhan's love life, on the contrary, was anything like Akira's and Tamika's. In T-Minus two seconds, as she sat on her bed in the dark of the  night, her relationship would receive the biggest blow of her life.

To say that Siobhan was annoyed was a complete understatement. She was furious. For the past week, Craig had been arriving home past twelve midnight, causing his girlfriend to worry.

The crashing of glass downstairs only alleviated her growing suspicions. Goosebumps ran down her neck as she heard footsteps advancing up the stairs and towards her room.

"Craig?" she called out, frightened as ever. "Is that you?"

The door swung open and she was indeed proven correct. It was Craig.

"Craig, where the hell were you?!" Siobhan questioned, stretching her body over to switch on the lamp on the dresser. "Do you know how late it is?"

Craig only stumbling around the room, ignoring Siobhan's pestering questions. His shirt hung loose while he reeked of alcohol, cigarettes and cheap perfume.

"I went to the movies, babes," he slurred finally. "Relax, just chill."

"Well, your Sprite must have been Vodka and licorice a blunt," she retorted sarcastically as she rushed out of bed to help Craig. "Where did you really go?"

Craig shrugged his shoulders in response. "The club, but it's nothing, baby... It was for my job. Just give me a kiss." He slid his arms around her waist and trailed wet kisses down the crook of Siobhan's neck.

A club? What the hell was he doing there?

"Quit it, Craig..." Siobhan tried pulling away from him, but each time she did, he held her tighter. Craig then moaned as his lips met hers. His hands roamed her body, fondling with the straps of her negligee. "Stop it."

"I just want some love..." He stated, roughly pushing Siobhan back on the bed and climbing atop of her. Siobhan gasped and looked back up at Craig. With no hesitation, she slapped him and pushed his weight off of her. Like second nature, she scrambled away from the bed and to the corner of the room.

"I want you out of my house. Now." she growled.

Craig looked at her then scoffed as he stumbled towards the bedroom door. "I'll get it elsewhere. I don't need you."

Once he was finally out of the house, Siobhan released the breath she didn't even know she held in. With a dramatic slide to the ground, she curled into a ball in confusion. He life was spiraling once again and she simply had no control over it.

That night, Siobhan could not sleep. The effect showed the next day, for she couldn't do anything but think about what happened the night before. At the lecture hall, all she could do was stare blankly at the professor as he spoke, unable to take any notes.

When her classes finished, she made her usual routine out the building, making sure to not run into any stalkers or drunken boyfriends again.

"This is definitely her! I saw her on this campus." Siobhan heard a frantic voice speak. She turned to stare at two girls, a blonde and an auburn haired girl, arguing with each other with a paper in the blonde's hand. "

Before she could finish her sentence, Siobhan interrupted their conversation.

"Hello!" She said cheerfully to the unfamiliar girls. She took it as an opportunity to make new friends, but mainly as a way to take her mind off of Craig.

As opposed to speaking, the two girls stared back at her.

Well, this is awkward. "I'm Siobhan Lewis! Pleased to meet you two!"

Unexpectedly, their eyes widened in shock. They glanced at each other then back at Siobhan.

"Siobhan?" The blonde inquired, almost choking on her words.

"Is anything the matter?" Siobhan asked, nodding my head. Was there something on my face? Was it the way I spoke? The girls shook their heads.

"No... We just have a friend named Siobhan," the brunette answered with a smile. "I'm Chelsey."

"And I'm Kierra." the blonde added on.

After introductions and getting to know each other, Siobhan invited the two girls out to lunch with Tamika and Akira. But as they spoke, Siobhan could tell her veteran friends did not like the new girls.

Kierra stuck her hand out in front of Akira to greet her. "Hello! I'm Kierra."

Akira smiled and eyed Kierra weirdly. "That's cute."

They could not be serious.

"So, why are you girls here," Tamika asked. "You showed up pretty late in the school year."

"Well, I mean, we are humans too... We need an education," Chelsey joked, laughing as a way to lighten up the tense mood. "We're transfer students and we know a friend from around here." Chelsey said, staring at me with a smile.

I smiled and replied. "Wow! Who would that be...?"

"You probably won't know him." Kierra quickly answered, leaving things in an awkward silence once more.

To break the silence, Tamika spoke, standing up. "Oh, would you look at the time. It's getting late and I have a date tonight. I'll drop you two home, Akira and Siobhan. See you later, Kierra and Chelsey."

With that, Tamika ambled away with Akira trailing right behind. How disrespectful.

"I'm so sorry for the behavior of my friends." Siobhan begged the two girls. "It will not happen again, trust me."

"It's okay. They just met us anyways." Chelsey smiled. "They don't know who we really are. Go. They are waiting."

Siobhan heaved out gratefully then waved to the two girls and rushed towards her now pestering friends.

"I don't like them." Tamika said immediately once Siobhan entered the car.

"They seem strange and are way too friendly," added Akira with Tamika agreeing right along with her. "It's creepy."

"You'll grow to like them."

"Well, I'm looking forward to that day." Tamika said and drove off towards Siobhan's house. Upon arriving at the house, Siobhan saw a bouquet of flowers sat on her front porch.

"Ooh, your secret admirer gave you those?" Akira giggled from the back, clearly over their previous situation. Siobhan rolled her eyes and grabbed her bag, ready to leave the car. The flowers were problem from Craig, as a way of apologizing for last night. Well, at least that's what Siobhan thought.

When Siobhan finally reached her front porch, she picked up the flowers and saw a small card fall from it. Picking it up, she read the poem softly to herself.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

I am very sorry,

You deserve an apology,

Siobhan smiled, happy because of Craig's thoughtfulness. She then dialed his number, but he Craig! Maybe he put this here! I took out my phone and sent him a text.

'Those flowers were so sweet, Craig.' it said.

Entering the house, Siobhan put the flowers into water, now in a better mood than before.

'What flowers? We need to talk about last night.' he sent back, causing Siobhan to stand in her place.  She furrowed her eyes in confusion and shook her head. Probably the flowers were for someone else. Mistakes happen.

Going upstairs to get ready for a shower, Siobhan spotted yet another bouquet of flowers resting on my dresser. She took the flowers and read the card attached to it.

But blood is red,

Some coffins are blue,

Beware,

I've got my eyes on you!

She dropped the card in surprise and shivered just as a breeze swept past the room. Slowly walking to the window to close it, Siobhan thought to herself.

"Why is the window..." Siobhan began to mutter to herself but soon stopped short when she eyed a new neighbor moving into the house next to hers. A silver car was parked in the driveway while a man stood by the trunk of it, moving boxes from it and inside the house.

Prince.
