Aaron's P.O.V
"Shawn what do you want at 9 AM on a Sunday morning?" I say into the phone.
"we have a problem" he whispers back.
"and that problem may be" I roll my eyes
"I have two days to plan the best date ever for Payton or I might lose my chance with her" he says. I sit up and laugh.
"dude you asked her out?" I rub my head. I hear him sigh
"she's different Aaron... and I was in the moment and I like her so yes. I asked her to go on a date. Do we have a problem?" I hear him start to pace back and forth
"nope. No problem at all, I'm just surprised, you're Shawn fucking Mendes. you're like a big fluffy romantic teddy bear and you can't come up with something to do. Oh, and Shawn, calm down. I can literally hear you pacing" I laugh.
"did you just call me fluffy?" he chuckles
"yes, the fuck I did. Just do something, if she actually likes you back, she won't care what you guys do" I say standing up.
"what did you and Olivia do for your guys first date?" he asks.
"we went to McDonalds. And then to a movie. Trust me dude. Girls like Olivia and Payton are not hard to please. Payton is a shy girl. just don't take her anywhere that might scare her off" I look out the window. Noticing Shawn's car isn't in his driveway
"hey where are you? you're not home" I say.
"how do you know I'm not home?" he says.
"uh Shawn were literally neighbors. I can see when your car isn't in the driveway" I laugh. I hear him sigh
"I'm at Payton's" he mumbles.
"dude you're at her house talking about the date? Are you an idiot?" I scream at him
"no, I'm in the bathroom, she's still sleeping, and yell in my ear one more time. ill slap you" he says. I scoff and nod
"Shawn shut up you're not going to do anything. But I got to go. I'm hanging out with Olivia today" I say looking at my alarm clock.
"okay bye fag" he says. I roll my eyes and end the call.
"I know he did not just call me a fag"
Shawn's P.O.V
I silently walk out of the bathroom and I walk over to the bed where Payton was sitting there on her phone.
"good morning" I say. she smiles and stretches.
"did you sleep at all?" she says I shrug and shake my head
"nah, I was too busy planning for our date" I say smiling at her. she rolls her eyes and nods
"you should have slept, what time is it?" she rolls onto her side.
"uh, like 9:45" I lay next to her.
"oh shit, I have work at like 11" she says. standing up. I groan and stand up with her
"I'd say you could stay here while I get ready. But I have to take a shower and stuff and you should go home and sleep" she says walking up to me.
"I should but I want to stay with you" I say making her blush and look down
"well, you can. But you have to go home when I go to work, it's not that I don't trust you. I just don't trust you" she smiles. I fake gasp and put my hand over my heart.
"ouch" I smile. She rolls her eyes and goes to her dresser. I lay back on the bed and get on my phone to see a text from Aaron
Aaron: dude, Olivia has the perfect idea for your problem, want to meet somewhere?
Aaron: oh, and it has to be somewhere I can get food. I'm starving
Aaron: and you're paying
I chuckle and look up at Payton who was currently looking for something,
"what are you looking for?" I say.
"uh my name tag, I swore I put it right here" she picks up a piece of paper. I look next to me and see it laying on the night stand.
"you mean this nametag?" I say picking it up.
"wait you work at Dixies diner? Me and my friends go there all the time" I throw it at her.
"yeah, I know. When you'd walk through the door. id hide in the back and ask one of my co-workers help you" she laughs.
"what why'd you do that?" I sit up
"I'm not someone you and your friends would usually want to associate with. And I didn't want you guys recognizing me" she shrugs
"well, were coming to visit you today, and I'll make sure to ask for you. so, you can't hide in the back. It'll just be me, and Aaron, and his girlfriend, you've already met Aaron and his girlfriend is really nice" I nod my head. She raises an eye brow and laughs
"is Aaron the one that told me you like to be called daddy?" she smirks.
"I forgot about that. and, yes that's him, and he's lying. I have never said that" I scratch the back of my neck.
"mmhm" she hums. I roll my eyes and jump back onto the bed.
"go get ready before you're late" I cuddle with the pillow. She nods and walks into the bathroom and closes the door behind her. I grab my phone and text Aaron back
Me: Meet at Dixies at 11:30?
I wait about 30 seconds until I get a response
Aaron: YES, YES, YES DIXIES IS AMAZING, WE'LL BE THERE
I laugh and throw my phone back down onto the bed.
I'll leave when Payton leaves to go to work. And then I'll go back home and change. I start to think about Payton, making me smile.
I think I'm falling for her...
Payton's P.O.V
I take a quick 10-minute shower and get out. I wrap the towel around me and plug in the blow dryer. I quickly dry my hair and put my clothes on. I throw my hair up in a ponytail and put on my name tag... I put on a little makeup and look at myself one more time before walking out the bathroom.
To see Shawn fell asleep cuddling with my pillow. I walk up to him and gently shake him
"hey, I'm about to leave. If you want to stay here you can, I don't want you driving while you're tired" I whisper when he opens his eyes.
"no, I'm okay, sorry I fell asleep" he says sitting up.
"it's fine, are you sure you don't want to stay here, I don't want you getting in an accident" I say. he smiles and stands up
"I'm not going to get in an accident. I'm fine" he grabs his keys off of the nightstand. I bite my lip and nod.
"alright. well, let's go then" I walk towards the door. he follows me and we walk downstairs. He grabs his shoes and puts them on.
"when are you coming by?" I ask him as he walks out the door
"around 11:30, why?" he says
"So, I know when to hide" I smirk and lean on the door. he rolls his eyes
"you're not hiding, and what are you doing?" he raises an eyebrow?
"I have to go through the garage, I usually walk to work" I say
"you are not walking to work" he says.
"why not" I ask
"because, you have a car. and I have a car, therefore there's no need for you to walk to work?" he says, it coming out as a question.
"whatever, ill drive my own car. but I still have to go through the garage. So, I'll see you at 11:30?" I ask.
"yeah, bye." He smiles and turns on his heel.
"bye" I mumble as I close the door. I watch through the window as Shawn gets in his car and drives away. I smile and I walk through the house. I grab the keys off the counter and walk out of the garage. I get in the car and start my drive to work.
