Kazran finds a place to hide, and the shark cruises behind him.
"In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan. Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone. Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow. In the bleak midwinter long ago" Abigail is out of her cryochamber and the shark is calm beneath her hand.
"It's not really the singing, of course," the Doctor says.
"Yes, it is," Kazran says.
"Nah."
"The fish love the singing. It's true."
"Nah. The notes resonate in the ice crystals, causing a delta wave pattern in the fog. Ow. A fish bit me."
"Shut up, then" {Y/N} mutters.
"Heaven and earth shall flee away..."
"Of course. That's how the machine controls the cloud belt. The clouds are ice crystals. If you vibrate the crystals at exactly the right frequency, you could align them into ow! Why do they keep biting me?" the Doctor asks.
"Look, the fish obviously like the singing, ok? Now shut up" {Y/N} says flicking his ear.
"Ok."
"In the bleak midwinter, falling down before, the ox and ass and camel which adore."
*Back To Sardick*
The portrait behind Sardick's chair is now of Abigail, not his father.
"It's bigger on..."
*Cryovault*
Abigail and Kazran are looking inside the TARDIS.
"...the inside."
"Yeah, it's the colour. Really knocks the walls back" the Doctor says, the shark is in Abigail's cryochamber.
"Shark in a box, to go" {Y/N} says.
*This is amazing" Abigail says looking around.
"Nah, this is transport. We keep amazing out here" {Y/N} again opens the doors they are in the clouds, amongst the fish "come on, then. Let's get this shark out" young Kazran takes a photograph which old Sardick digs out of his memory box. The shark is released.
"Hey, look at her go" the Doctor closes Abigail's cryochamber and sees a set of dials on the front - 000 008.
"Abigail, this number. What does it mean?" {Y/N} asks.
"It pertains to me, ma'am, not the fish."
"Yeah, but how?" the Doctor asks.
"You are a doctor, you say? Are you one of mine?"
"Do you need a doctor?" the microwave goes ding!
"Ah. Sorry. Time's up, kids" {Y/N} says.
"Why?"
"It's nearly Christmas Day."
*Time skip*
They put Abigail back in her cryochamber.
"If you should ever wish to visit again."
"Well, you know, if we're ever in the neighbourhood," the Doctor says.
"They come every Christmas Eve," Kazran says.
"What?" {Y/N} asks.
"Yeah, they do. Every time. They promised."
"No, we don't," the Doctor says, Kazran shuts Abigail's cryochamber. Then it opens again, with the Doctor, {Y/N} and Kazran wearing red fur-trimmed hats.
"Merry Christmas!" the three shout.
"{Y/N}! Doctor! What are we going to do?"
"They've got a great plan. Wait till you hear" they run out of the vault. The dials on Abigail's chamber click down to 000 007.
*Time skip*
"You are out of your mind. This will never work" they have a carriage with nothing to pull it. The Doctor points his half a sonic screwdriver into the sky.
"Oh, don't think shark, think dolphin," the Doctor says.
"A shark isn't a dolphin."
"It's nearly a dolphin."
"No, it isn't."
"That's where you're wrong, because. Shut up."
"It could be anywhere. Will it really come?"
"No chance. Completely impossible. Except at Christmas" {Y/N} says, so the four go on a shark powered sleigh ride through the skies.
"How are we going to get back?" Kazran asks.
"I don't know" the Doctor replies.
"Do you have a plan?" Abigail asks.
"I don't know" {Y/N} replies, they buzz the rooftops, causing delight to viewers.
*Time skip*
"Best Christmas Eve ever."
"Till the next one," Kazran says.
*Time skip*
"Merry Christmas!"
"{Y/N}, Doctor. Where to this time?"
"Did we mention, at any point, all of time and space?" the Doctor asks.
*Time skip*
"Merry Christmas!"
"{Y/N}, Doctor" according to photographs they've gone to, Egypt.
*Time skip*
"Merry Christmas!" {Y/N} and the Doctor smile, Kazran is a shy teenager. They are all wearing very long, striped scarves.
"{Y/N}, Doctor" her counter clicks down to 4. They visit somewhere mountainous.
*Time skip*
"Merry Christmas!" Kazran is now a strapping young man.
"Kazran" they all walk into the TARDIS "you've grown."
"Yes."
"And now you're blushing."
"I'm sorry."
"That's ok."
"So, Doctor, {Y/N}, where this time?"
"Pick a Christmas Eve. We've got them all right here" {Y/N} says.
"Might I make a request?" Abigail asks.
"Of course."
"This one" a while later Abigail is looking in a window while the Doctor, {Y/N} and Kazran are standing a little way away.
"Who are they?" Kazran asks.
"Her family. The lady's her sister. We met her once when she was older" the Doctor says.
"Abigail's crying."
"Yes."
"When girls are crying, are you supposed to talk to them?"
"I have absolutely no idea," the Doctor says, {Y/N} rolls her eyes as Kazran goes over to Abigail.
"My sister's family. They're so happy" Abigail says.
"They look very poor."
"They are very poor. Doesn't mean you can't be happy."
"Close the curtains" their view is shut off.
"And then why aren't you?"
"Because this is the life I can never have."
"Why not?" Abigail squeezes Kazran's hand.
"I think you're blushing again" the Doctor opens the curtains from the inside.
"Come in," the Doctor says... a while later at the dinner table, the Doctor tries a card trick on the youngest boy.
"Pick a card. Any card at all" the Doctor says.
"Every Christmas Eve? I don't understand" Isabella says.
"I'm not sure I do" Abigail replies.
"You memorise the card, you put it back in the deck. Don't let me see it" the Doctor says.
"Is this what it looked like last year?" Eric asks.
"It doesn't have to be exactly the same."
"I'm starting again. Come on, Kazran, we're starting again."
"That's Sardick's boy, isn't it?"
"He's not like his father," Abigail says.
"His father treats everyone like cattle. One day that boy will do the same."
"No. He's different."
"The three of clubs," the Doctor asks, {Y/N} watches on a small smile on her face.
"No," the small boy, who was called Ben says shaking his head.
"You sure? Because I'm very good at card tricks."
"It wasn't the three of clubs."
"Well, of course, it wasn't, because it was the seven of diamonds."
"No."
"Oi, stop it, you're doing it wrong," the Doctor says, {Y/N} and Ben laugh.
"I see him around the town sometimes. Never any friends" Isabella says.
"He's got me."
"All those Christmas Eves, you never once came to see us."
"I'm here now."
"Then stay. Stay for tomorrow. Have Christmas dinner with us."
"I can't."
"Well, then. Tomorrow's Christmas dinner is cancelled, as my sister refuses to attend."
"Isabella."
"Instead, we'll have it tonight" around the dinner table, crackers are pulled.
"Three, two, one, pull!" Ben's has a playing card in it.
"How did you do that?" Ben asks.
"Your card, I believe" {Y/N} asks, it's an eight of hearts.
"No" Ben giggles.
"Oh, shut up" {Y/N} mutters puffing out her cheeks, Kazran proposes a toast.
"Er, Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas," everyone says, under the table, Abigail and Kazran are holding hands.
