Ohm POV:
I had arrived at my department after a long night of working at the local restaurant named "Hooters" I closed the door behind me and sighed, I took off my shoes and looked at myself in the mirror
(Ohm's uniform)
"Boy you're getting worst, but it's all worth it" I said as I touched the bags under my eyes, I walked towards my nightstand and grabbed the picture of my mother "Don't worry moma, I'll make you proud" I took off my outfit and laid on the bed and closed my eyes but as soon as I gave the first snore my alarm rang. I sighed again and sat up, I turned off the alarm and rubbed my eyes "Goodmorning Starbucks" I took the green apron from the hanger and walked towards the shower
---Tike Skip---
"Thanks for your preference and hope to see you later sir" I said and waived another client
"Hey Ryan, how you doing?" asked Jon who walked passed me with some dirty dishes
"Everything fine"
"That's what you say every day"
"Because that's how life is" I sighed and leaned on the counter, and then I heard the bell ring, I sighed again and smiled "Welcome to Starbucks, how can I help you today sir?" I looked at the guy who had a nice black tux
"I would like a latt please" (I don't like coffee so I don't know about that stuff) I nodded
"What's your name sir?" he fixed his suit and his hair
"Patterson, Luke Patterson" he smirked
"Your order will be up in no time Mr.Patterson" he was impressed by my reaction but I just turned and prepared his coffee
"So tell me, what's your name?" he leaned on the counter and rolled my eyes
"Ryan" I said in a normal tone, I was not interested in this guy
"Ryan, what brings someone as beautiful as you to work here?"
"Money" I took the sharpie and wrote his name on the cup
"I see, well, if what you want is money that I can help you with that" I looked up at him and handed him his cup
"Listen, I'm not trying to be rude, but you're not the first person to offer me a better job and salary, and you won't be the first who I get to reject" he looked at me and smirked
"Thanks for the coffee, I'll come later-"
"Wait, sir! you haven't paid!" he turned around and giggled
"How stupid of me, add it to my account" I looked from side to side and shook my head a little
"Excuse me, sir, I know this is Starbucks but you have to pay, card or cash" he looked surprised and walked closer
"Sorry, I don't have cash and I don't have my debit card with me" I slowly grabbed his cup
"Then you can't have this"
"Come on, I need my coffee before I go to work, which I'm late to" he looked at his watch
"Sorry sir, it's policy"
"Please, just this time, I promise later I'll pay an extra" I rolled my eyes
"I can't, sir" he then seem angry
"I'm late to work, just give me my coffee!"
"Sir, you have to pay first"
"I want to talk to your supervisor!"
"Sir-"
"Hey you!" he signaled Jon
"Yes, sir? may I help you?" said Jon
"Yes, get me your supervisor! so I can report this worker" he signaled me, Jon looked surprised and nodded
"I'll get his right away" Jon walked to the back, Luke turned to me and smirked
"This is how it works, you give me my coffee and you don't get fired" I was so angry but I held myself
"You wanted to see me sir?" asked Brock, the manager
"Yes, I would like to report your worker named Ryan" Brock looked at me and I just looked back 'Please don't fire me' I let him know with my eyes
"Why would that be?"
"He, is denying me MY coffee, I asked for and I'm running late for work" Brock turned to me
"He's refusing to pay"
"I told him to add it to my account and he says you don't have that here!"
"Sir, you must understand, we only accept card or cash, it's our policy, it's not because Ryan is denying you service"
"Wow! you'll hear from my lawyer!" the guy walked away and I threw the cup in the trash, I sighed and so did Brock
"Don't worry about him Ryan, just keep working" I nodded and my day continued the same people come and go, some try to flirt some insult and so on
---Time Skip - Night---
"See you tomorrow Jon!" I waived at him as he left, I took off my apron and took my bag ready to go back home
"Wait! Ryan, I need to talk to you" I nodded and walked into Brock's office
"What's up?" Brock sat down and sighed
"Ryan, you're my best worker so far and I'm proud of you....but-"
"Let's me guess, we heard from his lawyer?"
"Yes, listen Ryan... I have to fire you, with the pain of my heart, but if we didn't Mr. Patterson is willing to close this establishment and leave everyone unemployed" I looked down and nodded
"I see" I stood up and left my apron on Brock's table "It was a pleasure to work here, I'll miss it"
"Come here Ryan, I'm so sorry" sobbed Brock as we hugged "I promise I'll help you find a new job"
"It's okay, I can do it myself" we pulled away and I said my goodbye to Starbucks, I walked along the dark street towards my department but decided to stop at the lake in front of the complex, I sat down near the shore and listened to the silence, slowly tears ran down my face, I softly sobbed and curled "Why?!" I whispered as I looked at the calm water "What have I done to deserve this?" I cried "I just want to have a normal life, I'm not looking for anything else" I covered my face
"Hey" I didn't turn, I didn't want to talk, I just felt someone walk close to me "What's wrong?"
"Nothing"
"No one gets emotional for nothing, what's wrong?" I felt the stranger sit next to me
"I just got fired, just because some spoiled man didn't understand the stupid policy" I sobbed
"I'm sorry to hear, who was this person?"
"Someone named Luke Patterson"
"Luke Patterson? the multimillionaire?"
"I don't know, and I don't care"
"Why not? did you know he's orphan?" I didn't look at the stranger, I didn't want to show my tears "He was born in the streets and somehow he became successful"
"I guess some people get what they want" I looked up to see the bright moon "I just... I just want to have enough money by the end of the week, if not I'll go back tot he streets"
"You're homeless?"
"I was, I've been bearly surviving in my small department, it's hard because... I don't have enough to even pay for proper food, and my buddy is not doing so well too"
"You have a roommate?"
"Buddy is my dog, I meet him when I tried to sleep next to a dumpster, he was curled up in the corner and I took him into my arms and... ever since we've been together" I smiled at the memory of my little buddy
"I guess, Luke forgot what it feels to be lower"
"Some people let their ego too high and they forget that... there are other people too" I cleaned my tears "Well, I have to go, buddy must be worried" I turned and saw Luke next to me, he was crying
"Listen, Ryan... I'm so sorry I-" he sobbed as more tears rolled down his face " I just... I see potential in you and when you rejected m offer... I thought... you were wasting your potential"
"But... there was no need to get me fired"
"I know and I'm sorry, but I promise, you won't regret this opportunity" he took my hand and looked into my eyes "I can get you anything, but... only if you accept my offer"
"What offer is that? a job offer?"
"If you accept to go on a date with me" I blushed and looked at him
"I-I don't kn-know what to sa-say" he then stood up and pulled me by my waist closer to him
"Don't say anything" I looked at him, taking every detail, his beard, his brown eyes and the scar over his right eye, I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him into a kiss, his lips were soft and plump, I felt his hands sneak around my hips and go up and down my sides
"Wait, Luke, what if someone sees us? wouldn't that ruin your reputation?"
"I have everything I want, all the money, cars, houses... but I don't have someone to love. What's glory if you can't share it?"
"But-"
"When you have everything... life becomes boring, you can put happiness back in my life again, please Ryan... I feel like a dead man walking" I smiled and kissed his lips again
"I'll date you, I accept your offer, IF!" he looked at me with worried eyes
"You promise me to let my buddy sleep inside" he rolled his eyes and giggled
"Anything for you" he kissed me again and I kissed him back
