Same Night, At the Hospital
Summer was sat by your side as you slept. She held your hand and just watched you. Soon, Ruby and the others came into the room. It was quiet, until Ruby spoke.
Ruby: So....he's my real dad?
Qrow: *sigh* That's right kiddo.
Ruby: Why didn't anyone tell me?...why didn't you tell me mom?...
Summer: We were afraid of how you react if we told you. It happened when you were still a baby, we didn't want to put you through that type of scenario.
Ruby: Did you at least try to find him?...
Raven: "At least", is putting it lightly, she always dropped you off with us, and left to search for him everyday since the incident. She did so for over 3 and a half years, and still never gave up on him when we forced her to stop.
Ruby walked up to the other side of the bed, and held your other hand. She began to feel something she felt a long long time ago. It was a feeling of love, love only a father could give to their children. Ruby began to tear up, realizing that it's all real.
Ruby: *sobs* Dad....*sobs*
Tai: We'll leave you be, come on guys.
Tai and the others left, leaving you and your family in the room. Ruby moved over to Summer's side and sat on her lap, still sniffling from everything she's just learned.
Ruby: *sniffle* This whole time *sniffle* the person I was looking up to...*sniffle* was my dad..
Summer: Has he been good to you?
Ruby: He saved me from a beowulf during initiation, and helped me get stronger.
Summer: He loved you every second you were born. He would turn a few missions down to spend time with you and me you know?
Ruby: *sniffle* Really?
Summer: Mhmm, he's the best husband, and best father ever.
Ruby: So why didn't he come back?
Summer: He went on a mission that was so dangerous, it needed a huge team of huntsman and huntresses. It went wrong, and he stayed behind to cover everyone's exit. After the incident, he had amnesia sweet heart, he didn't remember anything until we finally found each other.
Ruby: Ohh...
You stirred in your sleep, and began to mumble words.
Y/N: Mm, Ruby, don't take Yang's cookie from her.
Summer: *giggles* He really does remember now.
Ruby: His cookies are the best.
Summer: I know they are, he taught me to make them.
Ruby: He said that one day, if I became strong enough, he would show me how to use his sword.
Summer: That's good to hear. Okay, you should get home with the others.
Ruby: No, I wanna be here when he wakes up.
Summer: *smiles* okay.
Ruby walked over to the couch and Summer took off her cloak and placed it on Ruby like a blanket. She kissed her forehead.
Summer: Goodnight my little rose.
Ruby: Night mom...
She looked over back at you.
Ruby:...Night dad.
With that, she fell asleep,and Summer went back to your side. She laid her head on your lap, and grasped your hand again.
Summer's Thoughts: We're finally together again my love. Finally, we can be that happy family we were. I love you Y/N, thank you for finding me, and thank you for saving our daughter.
She fell asleep on your lap with a small smile on her face, happy that her family was whole once again.
Timeskip, the next morning
You stirred around, and felt the sun hitting your face. You groggily opened your eyes, only yo cover them from the blinding morning sun. After adjusting to the light, you found yourself in a hospital room. You stared out the window that overlooked the city, and then you heard the door open. You turned to see Ruby and Summer walk in with a tray of food. You began to tear up at the sight of the two most important people in your life. Summer put the tray down and rushed to embrace you in a hug. Then Ruby ran to you and began to cry. You all began to let your tears flow, and you let it all out and cried loudly, holding them both. They felt happy that you remembered everything, and that you loved them with all your heart. After a few minutes, you all finally calmed down, and pulled away from the embrace.
Y/N: *sniffle* Hey cookie monster *smiles*
Summer: *giggles* Your still the same man I married.
You pressed your foreheads together, then looked towards Ruby who was smiling.
Y/N: Who would have thought my favorite student was my daughter, come here my little rose.
She jumped into the bed and hugged you tightly as you hugged back. Summer leaned on you as you held Ruby.
Ruby: I can't believe it...MY DAD IS SO AWESOME!!
You and Summer both laughed at how excited Ruby was. You got out of bed and got dressed into some regular clothes. You signed out of the hospital and began to walk around Vale with your arms around Ruby and Summer.
Y/N: It feels good to be out here, especially with you two. Sorry I was late for dinner.
Ruby: Pfft, nahh, I didn't wanna wear those stupid lady stilts anyways.
Summer: Yeah, I don't get how people can wear those.
Y/N: Haha, like mother like daughter.
Summer: So, what should we do?
Y/N: It's still the weekend, I wanna catch up with my family. Today, just us, no one else.
Summer: I'd love that.
Ruby: Me too!
Y/N: Lets go then.
Summer/Ruby: Yeah!
Timeskip, Xiao Long Home, Night
You spent the entire day with Summer and Ruby, learning everything that Ruby did. You found out she stopped a dust robbery and actually skipped two years and entered Beacon. Catching up with your family was the best thing ever, and you grew closer not only to Summer, but much closer to Ruby, as she did to you as well. You explained to them how you were saved by villagers, and trained them to be warriors. Before you entered your home, you texted Emma.

Y/N: Hey Emma, I'm gonna be with my family tonight. I'll be back in the morning.
Emma: Ok.
Y/N: Hey, your still my little sis that I love, so don't go thinking I'm gonna forget about you.
Emma: Thanks big brother💗
Y/N: I gotta go, bye.
Emma: Bye.
You walked into the house, and saw Qrow, Yang, Tai and Raven all watching T.V. You stepped in front of it with your arms crossed.
Yang: Hey! We're watching!
Y/N: So you all decided to keep me and Summer from knowing we were both close to finding each other?
Qrow: U-Uhh, well-
Tai: It was Raven's idea!
Raven: Tai!
Yang: Yeah! Mom made us!
Raven: You too Yang!?
Qrow: We-
*BONK*
*BINK*
*BANK*
*BOINK*
They all had bumps forming on their heads from you hitting them.
Y/N: That's for doing that. Anyways, I'm hungry, I'll make dinner.
Ruby: I'll help!
Y/N: And after that, we'll see who's cookies are better, mine or Summer's.
Summer: Ohh your on.
The three of you rushed into the kitchen to prepare dinner. The other four watched from the doorway as you and your family were messing around, and laughing while preparing everything.
Tai: It's good to see them happy again.
Yang: Yeah, I've never seen Ruby so happy.
Qrow: It is quite the sight, I have to admit.
Raven: They're finally together again.
Timeskip
Tai: Alright, the moment of truth....
*CRUNCH*
As Ruby chewed her mother's cookie, and after comparing the two....
Ruby: Dad wins!
Y/N: Yes!
Summer: Drat!
You all laughed as Summer was playfully crying. You were having the time of your life with your family, and soon, it was getting late.
Tai: Man, look at the time, we really shouldn't have eaten any of those cookies.
Raven: Alright, bed everyone.
All of you: UUUUUGHHHHHHH!!!!!
Raven: Yes, yes I know, but we do have a mission coming up, remember?
Tai: Ohh shoot your right.
Y/N: Mission?
Qrow: Yeah, just a reconnaissance mission. White Fang base was spotted due south of Vale.
Y/N: Mind if I tag along?
Raven: Sure, you too Summer?
Summer: Yeah, I'll go.
Ruby: C-Can I come too?
Summer: Ruby I don't think-
Y/N: That's a bad idea, get up stairs and sleep. We leave in the morning.
Ruby: Awesome! What about you Yang!?
Yang: Nahh, I got plans with a few friends tomorrow.
Yang and Ruby rushed up stairs, and soon, all of team STRQ glared at you.
Y/N: *mouth full of cookies* What?
Summer: Y/N! How could you bring along Ruby!?
Y/N: She'll be fine.
Tai: I don't think-
Y/N: Trust me. If I didn't feel right about this, I wouldn't have told her. She's gotten incredibly better than when I first met her.
Raven: I hope your right.
You all went up stairs and went to your own rooms. Before turning off your light, Summer asked you something.
Summer: Y/N?
Y/N: Yeah?
She wrapped her arms around you and snuggled into your chest.
Summer: Promise you'll never leave again. Please?
Y/N: I promise.
You kissed her as she snuggled closer to you.
Summer: I love you.
Y/N: I love you more cookie monster, night.
Summer: Night.
With that, you both let sleep take over, and mentally rested so you could be on top of your game when you take Ruby on her first official mission as huntress.
