Bethany's P.O.V.
The Auradon Knights had won the Tourney Game and got a trophy. Soon after the game, I hung out with Mason for a bit before he did the one thing that made me excited.
I was currently walking in excitement to Lonnie's dorm. Mason had just asked me out on a date and I was beyond excited!
I was going on a date with a villain kid.
First, I had to tell Lonnie and Audrey. They were the only ones I trusted with something like this.
I hope they don't freak out when I say I'm going out with the child of a villain. Specifically, a villain who tried to kill Audrey and Andrew's parents.
I finally got to Lonnie and Audrey's dorm and knocked on her door.
"Come in." I heard Audrey say. I opened the door and got in, closing the door behind me quickly.
"Girls!" I gasped.
"Beth? What's up?" the daughter of Mulan asked as she finished brushing her hair and Audrey finished applying lipstick.
"Mason just asked me out on a date!" I exclaimed.
The girls and I squealed in happiness as we all jumped and hugged.
"But, I don't want a dress or heels. I want to go in something casual, yet cute." I told them.
"No problem. I have an outfit that you can have for your date." Audrey said as she went to her closet and got a yellow sweater-like shirt that had thin, white stripes. She also got a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and white flats.
I took the outfit from her and went behind the room divider and changed into the outfit, which was extremely comfy. However, I kept on some swim shorts and a top underneath just in case. I stepped out and the girls smiled at my outfit.
"Perfect." Lonnie said as she set me down in front of her vanity. She began applying minimal makeup on me before curling my hair.
Once she was done, she turned me around in the vanity chair. I gasped at my makeup and hair.
"I love it, girls. Thank you." I told them.
"Anytime, Bethany. There's just one more thing." Lonnie said. She went and got a beanie-type hat and put it on my head. I smiled as she adjusted my hair.
"Perfect. Now, you're ready to go." she said. It was then I heard a knock on the door.
The girls and I squealed before I went to the door and opened it. It revealed Mason in a leather jacket, black jeans, a dark purple muscle V-neck shirt, and black boots.
"Ready to go?" he asked me. I smiled and nodded as I exited the room and we went outside. He got us our helmets.
We got on a motorcycle that was black with purple and green flames on it. He started it and we rode off. I held onto him as I felt the breeze on my face. I couldn't help but rest my chin on his shoulder.
"I like you, Mason. No, I think I'm starting to fall in love with you." I told him.
I felt a little ache when I heard him say nothing other than 'Good'.
We got to a little area that had lots of tress surrounding it. Mason turned off the motorcycle and helped me off.
"Where are we?" I asked him.
"Close your eyes. I'll tell you when you can open." he told me.
I smiled and did as he said. I felt him grab me and carry me bridal style. I couldn't help but feel his warmth radiating to my body. I felt so at peace with this boy. He's made me feel things Andrew never made me feel.
Yep. I was definitely in love with this boy more than anything.
After a few moments of being in Mason's arms, I felt him stop walking and set me down.
"You ready?" he asked. I nodded my head, feeling his hand connecting with mine.
"Go ahead, Bethany." he instructed. I opened my eyed and gasped at the sight in front of me.
There was a black picnic blanket spread across the ground with a couple black candles. There were different kinds of treats and food there as well as some drinks. I looked at Mason and hugged him tightly.
"This is so beautiful, Mason! It really is!" I told him.
"I knew you'd love it." he told me as he hugged me back. We pulled away and walked to the site.
We began eating together, enjoying each other's company.
"So, have you ever been on one of these before?" I asked him.
"We don't really date much on the island. It's more like gang activity." he explained, taking a sip of sparkling water.
"Wow. At least you all get to have fun. With Andrew, I never really had fun on any of the dates we had. Mainly because he always flirted with other girls or would talk too much about himself." I explained.
"What a disgrace." Mason said.
"Well, I've done all the talking. Your turn. I really don't know much about you." I told him. He smiled as he began talking.
"Well, I'm 16, I'm an only child, and I've only ever lived in once place." he explained.
"Me too. We have so much in common already." I said.
"Trust me, we do not." he replied.
"You know, your mother is mistress of evil and I have the postal parents for goodness. But, we're not automatically like them. We get to choose who we wanna be and right now, I can look into your eyes and I can tell you're not evil." I told him.
We looked into each other's eyes for a bit before I turned my attention to the Enchanted Lake.
"I'm gonna go look for some Enchanted rocks. You make a wish and then throw it into the lake." I said as I got up.
"Okay, Beth. I'll stay here." he said. I smiled and kissed his cheek before walking off.
Mason's P.O.V.
I watched as my girlfriend, I guess you can say, walked off. I couldn't help but smile as she walked off. I looked at the dragon tattoo on my wrist. Lots of thoughts began to rush through my head.
'What if I fail Mother?'
'What if I fail my friends?'
'What if I can't gain the Auradon kids' trust?'
'Am I good? Or evil?'

After singing, I was about to sit down until I heard a scream. However, this scream sounded like the person was in distress.
"Mason!" I recognized the voice.
"Bethany." I gasped as I ran.
I followed my instincts and eventually found her thrashing in the lake. She saw me and looked at me with fear in her eyes.
"Mason, help me! I can't swim!" she screamed.
I couldn't swim. However, I wasn't going to let her drown. Not a chance in hell. I'll be damned if something happens to her.
My mother's plan isn't important as the life of a special person that has made such an impact on my life. A person who accepts me for who I am.
I took off my jacket and jumped in. I struggled to stay above as I made an effort to swim towards Bethany.
Eventually, I got to her and grabbed her waist, pulling her close to me. I managed to get us to the surface and I pulled her out. I wrapped my arms around her as she gripped my damp shirt.
"I got you, it's okay." I told her. I was surprised she wasn't crying or anything.
"I was climbing one of the boulders so I could get a good view and see if there was any rocks close to the surface. I tripped and fell in." she explained.
"Shh. I got you." I comforted her. "Wait, I thought you knew how to swim."
"It's just that, there's a secret I've never told anybody." she said.
"What secret?" I asked her. She looked down as I wrapped my jacket around her shivering frame.
"I'm scared of swimming in the water. I can't swim and it's just been a deep fear of mine since I was small." she confessed.
"It's okay, Bethany. I'm right here for you. I can't swim either, but I decided to face my fear in order to save your life. I was willing to risk my own in order to save yours. Even if I'm a villain, I wouldn't want to wish that on anybody else. If you want to, we could take swimming lessons together." I explained.
She smiled and nodded as she cuddled next to me and I stayed there with her, keeping her warm.
