“Well, your one second too fast for my likely. I would prefer if you left now. I don’t see any use of you being here for me or you,” I said quite frankly. Keeping my face free of any emotions.
My grandmother smiled.
I shivered.
“I won’t out stay my welcome, Alice,” she said.
She stood up and moved towards the door, about to exit before turning back around. Turning back around to face me like she had a mission.
“You lived in that house for six years, alone. An existence you could’ve evolved within, if you had me.”
I raised my head but avoided her eyes. “I prefer to live a solitary existence.”
Then I looked up. Locking eyes. “Besides, it seems to me that both of us knew about each others predicament. You knew I was parentless for those six years. You never questioned why I never visited you.”
“You didn’t have to,” she laughed. “I own your street darling. I have eyes everywhere.”
Then she walked out the door.
