Ashoka is alone in her room, Rex is away on a mission.
She sighed as she sat on her bed, she wondered what he was doing now. She worried about him, she never liked it when he was away this long. She looked at the commlink beside her bed. She hesitated a moment, but grabbed it, and switched to his channel.
"Captain Rex here." He answered. Ashoka let out a breath of relief, happy to hear his voice again.
"Hey there Rexter." She whispered.
"Ashoka? What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just wanted to talk to someone. Your not busy are you?"
"No. Not at all. Just supposed to be sleeping, not like i could do that anyways."
"Something wrong?"
"Eh, not really. Just...stress."
"Oh, i'm sorry. Wish i could be there to hug all that stress away."
"Honestly, just hearing your voice is melting away a bit of that stress."
"I'm glad."
"Crap. Gotta go Littl'un."
"Stay safe...please."
"Promise."
"Bye."
"Captain Rex, out."
*************************Rex is alone in his room after a long day of training. Ashoka is on a special mission with Anakin********
He walked into his room, fresh out of the shower, only wearing a towel around his waist. He looked on his bedside table, he saw his commlink. He hesitated a moment, but grabbed it, switched channels to find hers.
"Ashoka Tano here."
"Hey kid." He said with a smile, happy to hear her voice.
"Rexter! You called at the perfect time!"
"Oh? And how's that?"
"Anakin just left to go and see Padme, said it was 'Important business'" She used a terrible voice for Anakin.
"Ha, right. Important business. So, how are you?"
"Fine. Just a bit tired, Anakin's been running me like a dog here."
"That sucks, but i know how that feels."
"Yeah, i know you do."
"Is it wrong i miss you?"
"No, because i miss you too."
"When do you come home?"
"A couple days yet."
"Damn. I don't think i can wait that long to see my best friend."
"Same here. But we can talk for a while yet."
"Good, 'cause i'm lonely here without you."
"Ha! Right, you have Fives, Echo, Hardcase, Cody and everyone else there to have parties with!"
"Nah, no fun without you."
"Oh, Rex. Such a flirt."
"Ha ha, very funny."
"Rex, your the light of my life! I can't live without you baby!" She giggled.
"Oh shut up. Your such a bully."
"You know i'm just kiddin'."
"Yeah, but words hurt, don't get my wittle hopes up then crush 'em!"
"Oh my God, Rex! Your such an ass, and a drama queen."
"Yeah, but you'd be nothin' without this asshole of a drama queen!"
"Yeah, i guess your right. oh, i hear Anakin, Bye Rexter!"
"Bye 'Soka!"
**************Ashoka being bullied, and call Rex for comfort***************
She had been called ugly, alien slut, stupid bitch. Those hurt, yes. But not as much as this one.
She ran into her room crying, she grabbed her commlink without thought, and called Rex.
"Captain Rex here." He answered.
"R-rex!" She cried.
"Soka? What's wrong?"
"I-i...They called m-me..." She stuttered, unable to get the words out.
"Who did what? Ashoka! Who hurt you?" He sounded both equally pissed, and upset.
She calmed herself.
"Some stupid boys at the Jedi training hall. They were starring at me and when they came over to talk to me, i thought nothing of it. But they asked me about working with clones, and i told them. Then they started sniggering and called me the clone wh-..who."
She stopped and began crying.
"Shh, it's okay Ashoka. Just tell the their names. I can take care of it."
"N-no...i'll get in t-trouble..."
"Ashoka, no one should ever talk to you that way! I will not just stand by and allow someone to disrespect you! What are their names?"
"Chase, Andro, and pat."
"When i return tomorrow, They'll never speak, look, or think anything bad about you ever again."
"Thanks Rex. For having my Back. And always knowing how to make everything better."
"No problem Kid."
"Rex, you have no idea how much you mean to me, i don't know what i'd do without you."
"Probably cry all the time knowing you never met me."
"Rex! Your such a jerk!" She laughed and dried the tears.
"Hey, i made you feel better didn't i?"
"As always, you did. Yes."
"Alright, i gotta go. Skywalkers waiting."
"Ok, promise to come home to me? Safe and undamaged?"
"Well, i'm already damaged, but i promise to come home to you safe."
"Good. Bye Rexter!"
"See ya soon, Littl'un."
She loved it when he called her that. She smiled and laid in her bed, awaiting his return.
******************Umbara*********************
He hadn't called, or answered her calls in over a week. She figured he was busy, or fighting a lot. But when he did answer, is what really worried her.
"Rex?"
"Uh...y-yeah?"
"You okay?"
"Um, n-no..not really."
"Rex? What's wrong?"
"I dunno. Krell is...there's something not right here. We got orders that the Umbarans are dressed as Clones. I just feel something not right. I don't like this at all, Ashoka."
"Well, just be careful...follow your gut."
"Y-yeah. Uh, so what's up?"
"Just worried about you is all. You haven't my calls in over a week."
"Sorry, battles have been nuts. I wanted to call you so many times, but Krell kept sending us into more battles."
"It's okay. Hearing your voice now i good enough for me."
"Good. I-...i really miss you.."
"I miss you too."
"*BOOM* Crap! We've been surrounded. Get ready men!"
"Rex? What's going on?"
"Ashoka! If i don't come back home....I gotta tell you something!"
"Rex?"
"Ashoka, i lov-."
"Rex? Rex!?"
*****A few days later.****
He limped his way down the halls to her room. A distraught look plastered on his face.
She quickly answered the door after she heard three knocks. She was happy to see him, but the look on his face, and tears that were about to fall worried her.
He opened his mouth to speak, but just began crying and wrapped his arms around her body and hugged her tight.
"Rex? What's wrong?"
"Kr-krell....he...he was against us the whole t-time...We killed our own brothers...."
She gasped, horrified.
"What? Why?"
"I don't know.....I fell something in me, something i've never felt before."
"Rex. I'm so sorry."
"Sorry can't fix anything now.." He said and let go of her.
She looked up at him, and led him in her room. They sat on the edge of her bed together.
"What happened to Krell?"
"Dogma shot him."
"And where's Dogma?"
"Going to a court meeting. He might be court marshaled."
Ashoka's shoulders slumped.
"Well, i'm glad your okay."
"Yeah, as okay as i'll ever be i guess."
"Rex, that last call, before you lost the call. You said-"
"I love you."
She looked into his eyes, to see the sincerity. He wasn't lying. He cupped her cheek, she leaned into his touch. He leaned down and kissed her lips ever so softly. Ashoka kissed back.
"I really do love you littl'un."
"I love you too, Rexter."
